What I infer from it, Mr. macaca_dick, is the obvious fact that Nawaz did not run to Clinton asking for help. It was the other way around. Clinton wanted to stop the war at any cost because he knew Pak had deployed its tactical nukes in the event of a naval blockade of Karachi by macaca navy, which was the next military step by macacaland though it is not mentioned by Bruce Riedel.

It wasn`t a theory. This account has been provided in Bruce Reidel`s details of the Clinton/Nawaz meeting at Blair House on July 4, 1999. Some excerpts:
...On the third, more information developed about the escalating military situation in the area —disturbing evidence that the Pakistanis were preparing their nuclear arsenals for possible deployment.
...There was more disturbing information about Pakistan preparing its nuclear arsenal for possible use. I recommended that he use this only when Sharif was without hisaides, particularly not when the Foreign Secretary, Shamshad Ahmad, who was known to be very close to Pakistani military intelligence (ISI) was in earshot.
... Clinton asked ... Did Sharif order the Pakistani nuclear missile forceto prepare for action? Did he realize how crazy that was? You’ve put me in themiddle today, set the U.S. up to fail and I won’t let it happen. Pakistan is messing with nuclear war.

Okay, so what? Nawaz had to ask the army to withdraw - okay the US asked Nawaz who asked the army to withdraw.
What do you infer from it?

Hahaha ... look at the macacas jumping up and down and tripping on their tails ....
First: #34 by jang_dumbass_macaca says: ...had a shameful visit to beg to clinton etc.
Then :#43 by arjun2_ugly_macaca says: Zinni`s book throws light on Kargil withdrawal .... Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his civilian colleagues appeared reluctant to endorse a withdrawal. That got Musharraf`s attention, and he encouraged Prime Minister Sharif to hear me out,`` writes Gen. Zinni.
Hahaha ... can the macacas decide one way or the other? LFMAO!

HP,
I love the way years of Indian efforts and propaganda have evaporated into thin air- given that Musharraf not Manmohan is the household name and it is ``straight talking`` book (regardless of how dubious the facts maybe) that is being gobbled down by the common American as the gospel truth. No wonder we are hearing desperate high pitch cries .... not to mention that it is India that has made Musharraf rich by buying close to a 100 000 copies of his book...

Mushy, like all other paki general tinpots before him is a pompous freak... but unlike other tinpots - he considers himself an intellectual... other tinpots may have wrapped themselves with islam - but mushy boy wants to different - he wants to be known as ``enlightened`` - so he wrote a book...
But true to his incompetency - he can`t even ghost-write a book properly... forget the truth and reality - pakis can`t even get the spelling right...
Fittingly - George Bush promoted the book - who else?... :)

HP writes <<< Masadi, I will come back to your post later but I will say now that there was no “unmitigated” disaster in Kargil. Kargil was never big enough to be called a disaster for any one. >>>
HP sahib, unmitigated disaster- were Nasah`s words not mine, though I do not disagree that it could have spiraled into that, given the history of the two macacas- the leadership I mean. My point was that such aimless, useless, worthless adventures could have resulted in a wider conflict where both sides had nuclear weapons, neither side pro or con disputes that ~ that I put in to show the hypocritical claim by Musharraf of capitulating to the US for `national interest`.

From the very outset, I wanna make it clear that I have not read Mushy’s book so I don’t really know what he actually wrote in the book. The author of this article has selectively quoted a few things but mostly he has spent time quoting some other people to refute mushy’ s contention. Since I am not aware of Mr. Pande’s any other work, I am not sure if he is capable of reading the underlying story in Mushy’s book. Mushy may have meant something different than what some common commentators believe. Understanding the context is crucial in following a political subject. Secondly, I believe that Khasis are politically most stupid people and therefore lack the ability to really follow the political or diplomatic meaning in mushy’s comments.(Exception: stuka)
That aside, I think mushy “wrote” this book with some specific purpose in mind and that purpose was not to discuss kargil. Kargil is now a minor matter. Khasis may try to get some erection out of it but I doubt they will get any. No erection ever for Khasis, they are done for good.
So why Mush “wrote” the book?
First, the book was written to coincide his US trip and the trip was confirmed just two months ago. So the book was hastily written and sold to a major publishing house which did not even have time to proofread, fact check, and work on grammar. You don’t expect such grave errors from a major publication house unless the publisher was forced to accept the book as it is.
Just think who could have possibly forced/convinced a major publishing house to print this book.
Secondly, the book was meant to be sold in the US so it has some stuff that captured headlines and the book’s sales were brisk. The US admin was so happy with the book that President Bush himself was gleefully peddling the book. Can some Khasi put two and two together here? I doubt that.
Now let me get in to a little background of what I am implying. It has been well known that most Pakistani army Generals have been in the CIA or the US money distribution channel for a long time. General Zia and his cousin General Rehman were amply rewarded for their services during the afghan war. Their kids have so much money now that at least their next seven generations are set for life. Some other generals from the afghan war era are set for at least next three generations.
Can any one catch my drift here? Stupid khasis! the book was written and published in the US to make some over the counter money for Mushy baba. The question is what was the need for over the counter money when Zia and Rehman got everything under the counter?
Well! The times have changed. Zia is dead and so is Gen. Rehman but it seems that the US will keep Mushy alive after he is shunted out of power in the next couple of years. Mush will, I believe generate 10 to 12 million bucks out of this deal. Now public is not going to buy million copies but the US libraries and schools, the Saudi government, the US government, The Pak govt. and many other well wishers would contribute to Gen. Musharaf’s welfare fund and it will be legal for Mush to live in the US after retirement off of legal income. The rest of his income would stay somewhere else.
Like Ayub Khan was rewarded for signing Cento, Seato, U2 and Badabaer facilities, Zia was rewarded for helping in Afghanistan, Mahatama Musharaf is being rewarded for his help before, during and after 9-11. That is all there is to it abt the book who cares what facts are abt anything?
…And Khasis think it is all abt Kargil…what a bunch of morons.
Masadi, I will come back to your post later but I will say now that there was no “unmitigated” disaster in Kargil. Kargil was never big enough to be called a disaster for any one.

Re: # 83
What u say is correct. In fact this was stated as soon as the book was published here on chowk, on FP and UP. There was thread on this, if I have the time before sleep I will dig it up.
Mushy prefers over the counter legit money, not under the counter after all the PR and publicity he gained from his accountability business.
