get your facts straight discoverer...
Hindi is a derivative of Sanskrit and uses teh devnagri script...and Sanskrit is older than 5the century BC, back to the aryan period and thankfully THUS not a derivative of Urdu.

Please refer to wikipedia....and dont giv BS here about what u know half about.

Hindi does indeed use parts of some Urdu words, and Urdu is equally influenced by Hindi in the region. Both the languages have bee used historically in the same region ie India-Pakistan. and have this has been so for verry verry long. Thus they are bound to influence each other to some extent.

I think you need to do some research and understand that so called ``hindi`` is not even a language, it uses sanskirit dialect with Urdu /Arabic/Persian vocal signature. Infact Hindi was derived from Urdu. Urdu is the lingua franca of Muslims. Having been developed by Muslim rulers of India, Urdu was used as a secondary language to Persian, the official language of the Mughal court. Urdu was not only developed as lingua franca but it was a part of the design of Muslim conquerors to establish their political and cultural hegemony in this region. Hindi, my friend, came into existance around 1867 whereas Urdu was developed in 1526.

``Urdu was the language of gentry and Hindi that of the vulgar.``

Dear Adams

I find it very hard to understand why are Pakistanis so obsessed with Aishwarya, Shah Rukh Khan when both of them have refused/refrained to visit Pakistan on several occasions. Even Pakistanis organizers who want to invited Indian Film actors and actress are were also threatened by fanatics. It just takes one fanatic to do something spectcular. Imran Khan was threatened by MMA for inviting Amir Khan for a Charity show in Lahore. It would be better if Aishwarya, Shah Rukh Khan don’t visit Pakistan in the near future. Not only that there is a complete ban on Indian films in Pakistan. The ban is further extended to Indian channels, Indian Magzines and Indian products. There was a time after Partition when “Hindi” language was considered as a Language of the Enemy. Any one teaching, learning or writing Hindi was considered a traitor and even declared a Anti-National. Many ancient and price-less Hindi and Sanskrit Books were completely Burned in Lahore (Now Pakistan).

Iqbal Singh (Indian Punjab)

PS: I would invite any Pakistani citizen to correct me if I wrong

A good review of Paky cable tv!

You omitted to mention Hamza on GEO and Qtv.

The other day the boy in Hamza puts the following question to Ustad:

``Ustad ji, Allah says the Satan is chained during Ramazan. Then why there are so many sins committed despite absence of Satan in Ramazan?``

Ustad says, ``It was only to test the man how he behaves without Satan goading him to commit sins, which, he claims, are due to misguiding by Satan ``.

Qtv:

A mulla telling `fazaail and barkaat` of `woozu`. He says, ``All your previous sins
are forgiven the moment you start performing woozu``.

Arsalan: Seeing Satan in bondage touching his ears on seeing the sins being committed by Pakies without him and being forgiven by Allah, en block, thinks of quiting his profession altogether

buhat aalaaa... khan sahib.... buhat aalaaa

utterly bitterly creative...

i think it`s a lot better than your ``much-acclaimed`` khassi and khabees duologue...

this is something that the writers on chowk normally can`t do: convey a message without offending anybody.... and u`ve done it in style

Adam Khana!
Brilliant.
Miss the charsi`s tikkas. Went back after almost 8 years and that was 2 years ago. Lots have changed. Still remember the good ol` days when Stoli was 100 ruppees (post Chernobyl) and Chief burger was a one room show. Actually, preferred kareem`s burgers? `cause of the odd heine and the duk cirgats...
Keep writing..
