Re: # 72

Urstruly, you did the right thing (seminars etc). The important issue here is that the rest of the world are not taking issue with Islam as a religion, but with muslims and their thought proceses. Hamidm2 in his own way, atleast that is my impression and interpretation (I could be totally wrong here) is indicating the same. The resto fthe world is no more and no less religious than the muslims. But they are marching on forwards - technologically, and economically in trying to better the lives of the people. News ideas, new thinking, and new ways of doing things are being tried and tested. Some work some dont. If we look at what happened in the world since the 1960s, a lot of new thinking developed - some were accepted and some discarded andsome adapted.

The thought processes generated the violent scenes we see, we have seen etc. TOday there are more muslims being killed by muslims. The total number of muslims killed by the rest of the world is miniscule compared to this number. Yet there is not a murmur. Today, the great technologies are business are being generated by the rest of the world the muslims are mired in thinking about viels, beards and other external paraphernalia of religion. If god existed the poor blighter will be wondering what he did wrong - when he said he was all power, all knowing, all seeing etc - that we feel they need for these external symbols of religiousity and peity. If I recal I said an importatn issue is ``wear religion on sleev or keep it in heart and mind``. That is the choice we need to make.

From where I stand, as I said, my interest is in a few questions e.g what makes my own country men bomb and kill their own fellow countrymen? what makes my own countrymen have extra territorial loyalties, when this country fed them and gave them everything their needed, perhaps not everything they wanted. Why do the muslims think they arethe only right ones, and that they need to foist their views forceably onto others. How is it that the free minds of yesteryears Islam produced great things, and the frre thinking minds of todays west are doing the same, whereas the freethinking muslims of today are mired in their little mental pits?

Some times one thinks world is amazing. Some religious organization in Indonesia are having seminar about how pray five times in space in lack of gravity. (Indonasian will be blasted in russian rocket as a friendly gesture)

A good one.

Yes, it is agreed that Muslims, Sikhs or any other group settled in west must keep its distinct identity while integrating with the host culture, but we must remember that ``identity`` must be in tune with the times. It should reflect modernity and not medievalism.

Atleast here in India, some young Sikhs and Muslims have started giving themselves this new identity particularly in their dresses. They wear traditional dresses having modern colours and a touch of modern design. There is a new Sikh Turban and a new Muslim Cap. And these young people are being appreciated in the society.

And may I add here that if you want to give yourself a separate identity anywhere, and want the alien society appreciate you, then YOU MUST YOU MUST stay slim, trim, fit, neat, clean and tidy. Otherwise you will become a laughing stock.

To gain something, you have to lose something.

Good luck.

NYtimes says that hinuds are fast running out of graduates for their IT industry... I should know - because I am not finding engineers fast enough in the white hot bangalore job market... I am sitting here for last two weeks...

even though pakis have millions of ``graduates`` for their ``IT``[internationl terrorism] industry... :)

you pakis should stop bothering about a piece of black cloth and length of facial hair - you may get a chance to get in the IT bandwagon and make something for yourselves - instead of whining like l0sers... I mean - I would like to hire a bunch of LUMS guys...
Any takers, pakis?... can you just take your mind off the 7th century bedouinism and grow up for once?

2nd warning for Muslims to leave U.S. before attack
`Because Allah`s punishment would fall on America in the month of Ramadan`

WASHINGTON – Another Pakistani journalist is reporting receiving another threat – this one from a senior Taliban leader – warning all Muslims to leave the U.S. in anticipation of a major terrorist attack before the end of Ramadan.

The head of the Islamabad-based al-Quds Center reported receiving an audio message from Mullah Masoom Afghani urging U.S. Muslims to get out of the country ``because Allah`s punishment would fall on America in the month of Ramadan.``

Muslims are observing Ramadan this year Sept. 24 to Oct. 23.

Naqshbandi,

With this one article you`ve done two things...

1. Burst the bubble of those who thought just because you spoke of Islam, you were a wahabi.

2. As a legitimate representative of established Islamic thought a.k.a Barelvi Islam, you have given the Salafis a run for their money by declaring in no uncertain terms that Niqab has nothing to do with Islam.

More power to you.

I entirely agree with you dear Asif. This veiling by women is in fact a moral, ethnic and gender apartheid. A question arises are all the men evil that women should veil themselves in a way that they see and can recognize all men but cannot be seen and recognised by them. It is not a question of freedom as proses and the actresses, the most liberated women in the Land of the pure, all wear burka when they go out. Above all, it is today a question of security also for which reason even coloured screens of cars are banned in some countries.

Re: # 120

The only one to gain from these are the mullahs.......I find that with every controversy they are some how flashing better cell phones, cars and other equipments and their robes are getting longer and finer.............I would say it is the conspiracy of the unemployed and unproductive mullahs to extract more rent from the ummah in the name of ``conspiracy``............I have completely stopped even taking the calls of these rascals.......not to talk about sending them a contribution..............

Veil is just a start. Soon Tablighi style ``wild`` beards will be banned too.

It is truly sad to see that Islam is being hijacked by the most close minded people on earth. Back in the early days of Islam, Bedouins were mocked by the urban Muslims. Now however a small minority of urban Muslims love to ape the Bedouins.

Muslims were supposed to be the most fashionable, modest, clean-looking, refined, and civilized in the world. Thanks to Tablighi and other Maulanas, things are down Niqab, unkempt beard, and worst of all a menacing attitude towards the rest of the world.

#123 (continued): however, the damage done by these lowlife to Pakistanis who are still in Pakistan is tremendous, I think. There are probably tens of thousands of Pakistanis who would have made a life for themselves in the west, but now are being denied a visa, because of these rascals who want it both ways - to enjoy the benefits of the west while spitting on it and crying ``wolf`` at every opportunity. That is the tragedy, and I am afraid it will become worse in future and millions of Pakistanis will ultimately pay the price for the mischief done by the few.

#120 the bedouin wannabes become bedouin wannabes after they get their citizenships to UK or Canada or the US. Before that they are maskeen little men humbly standing in line for a visa.

Fortunately, it is only a small percentage of Pakistani-immigrants who get this ``arab-worshipper disease`` once they get visas to the US. The vast majority are too busy taking advantage of the opportunities they get.

So dont paint all Pakistanis with the same brush that you apply to the arab-worshippers.

Yep - it`s a hinud conspiracy alright... :) .... Tata just announced a $9 billion buyout of Corus steel in brit land... How is that possible? how could the heeng-eater become powerful?... the answer is simple - hinuds are oppressing muslims and pakis... remember - if Md Yunus was in india he would have never won Nobel Prize... :)

Young school children in Britain (at least first few days in school) should be exposed to at least four different teachers every day for varying durations :

1. Burqa clad ``Bhoot``.
2. Turban and Sword wielding Sikh ``Shaitan``.
3. Painted Forehead wala naked dhoti clad South Indian ``Nangoo``.
4. Red Bearded topi wala Maulvi ``Osama``.

I wonder what percentage would even cross primary level.

After all there is spice in variety. freedom of religion. Blah. Blah. Blah.

In public, please dress the way the local customs dictate. Do not offend public sensibilities unnecessarily.

yet another hindoo conspiracy

........ this veil business is yet another conspiracy by the horrible hindoos to keep the muslims tangled up in their robes and veils while tata buys corus steel and infosys triples its revenue to 3 billion in less than three years ........so far this year, the heeng-eaters have bought over a 100 companies in europe and america with a value of over 8 billion dollars while the lotus-eaters are squabbling over the length of facial hair for men and the length of veils to cover their fat women with moustaches ........

......... so while the hindoos are pounding the world`s biggest and most complex forgings at bharat forge, the bedouins and the bedouin wannabes are busy pounding sand !
