I could not restrain myself but from smiling at this post. It is the same situation here with Muslims in USA. Although obviously the vast majority of Americans are non-Muslims who do not keep fast, whenever there is any Iftar function of Muslims getting together it is like a mini-Pakistan as the writer has described complete with spoon-wielding begumaat and cigarette-puffing gents!

Chill, honey-- Live and let live! Don`t go if you don`t like to- I don`t because I lack some basic social etiquettes to survive these gatherings-- chit-chatting and finding my way through the crowd are some basic skills that I have failed to acquire (I’ve tried) but I don’t have anything against people who enjoy and participate ‘actively’ in these social events. Life is difficult and serious enough-- Why not let people have some fun and laughter with friends, family and food at these iftaar dinners? I don`t fast, so I hardly know what I am talking about:), but I sincerely respect and admire people who do, even the ones who go wild between iftaar and seher. After all, nobody should deny the simple fact that being a saint for 12 hours is better than nothing!

Aamir liaquat is a clown...i just hate him so bad. Only reason i never turn to geo during Ramazan is because he is on it all the time.

I think Amir Liyakat, is kanjar number one. I can`t stand him and his do gooder attitude he puts on, he is such an actor and an irritating c*nt. He oozes imaanless falseness, he reminds me of those black preachers from Amreeka.

How pakis can fall for his cr*p i dont know, it p*sses me off when people cant see right thru him... there is something really dodgy about that guy... i dont like him

AA:

nice scenic description..well table manners go out in a little get together why blame all ramzan and its principles..same is at marriage ceremonies too.

But let me add the kurtas of Amir Liaquat Hussain are a real attentive thing to chat on..Heard in previous iftari that her Begum has outlet in Dubai too told by an auntie..as they are exported to Dubai for geo channel programs for whole holy month. PLus other day I myself saw his dressing closely which is turning expensively paindu with every day. And someone also smsed about his showing off in the text-liner..

anywyas thats an interesting fact that all religious spokesmen have a boutique outlet be it Junaid Jamshed Kurtas to Aamirs sherwanis..

Amir is polished by geo as a gem for the society that sparkles with his shiney glittering kurtas with a smily face and elevates morals of Pakistanis..He is becoming a cash cow as of his weight suggests :)

Absolutely right !
I had also felt the same on some of the iftar dinner i had attended.

And btw i simply hate aamir liaqat as i think he`s more of an actor than a preacher.
