Again you`re making the same mistake in your analysis. The Strategic Depth doctrine failed when the original Pak horse Hikmatyar failed. The later development of Taliban was never about just strategic depth, it was about full control. That didn`t occur and then Pak turned about-face in frustration and pressure. The nouveu Taliban however will weigh their options again and it is an opportunity for Pak. In a way, both are indispensible for each other.

Wrong! It`s not as simple as that.

Taliban`s ideology as far as revealed in that interview in #323 is FULLY shared by ordinary Paks. However, their jurisprudence as practised in their last governance has NOTHING to do with Pak. Talibanization does not only mean their treatment of women/brutal punishments and the sorts ... it also means Islam. That`s where the twain meets.

Noone in Pak supports their brutal ways , but everyone supports their brave stand against an anti-Islam on-slaught. Pak must make amends and come out openly in their support because they have no wish to impose their harsh brand on Pak society. They just need a few friends for a change, and once their confidence is gained and the anger subsided, they can be taught and coaxed from the extremes of extreme; only by Pak.

Yep I read that post. It is true. Actually the Mufti`s link is through Dera Ismail Khan which is practically, though not geographically, part of Waziristan. So Karzai will come begging. No doubt. But what`s that Gandhi/Mufti Mehmood link again? Hmmmm .....

Pak just cannot have enemies on ALL three borders. 2 out of three friendly borders will do. It was the same Afghanistan which had refused to recognise Pak and had fought tooth & nail against it`s UN membership under Soviet influence. When we had the same Afghanistan on our side, we let it go to the other side. Pls note what Mulla Umar said back in 2001(#323)

Jayaprakash you try so hard to convince yourself that it is indeed humiliating for Pakistanis living in the west ... maybe one of these days you will come to gobble up your own crap... like BJkumar (Chowk staff must run an ID Check on you two).

On the political side... it must be remembered that Taliban have a distinguished lineage. The father of taliban is none other than Maulana Fazlurrahman, the proud scion of Maulana Mufti Mahmood, who was in politics only by good graces of Mahatma Gandhi.... Thus Mahatma Gandhi is the great grandfather of the taliban... and the resemblance is uncanny ... when it comes to Gandhi`s outlook on women, religion and modernity... Pakistan only utilised the Afghan jehad to win a war against communism... now the monster is raging out of control...

BJkumar/Sadna/Amansandhu/Alephnull/Gujjubania/VRV/Harish-hyd (take your pick), you want the perfect Indian utopia. Never argue on facts. Instead resort to inanities and abuses.. you must denounce the other party a nautanki, a son of a bitch, a Paki gaandu or feel free to abuse mother/sister/wife/daughter, end of argument, baat khatam. if the point is refutable, typically through some fudged statistics and squealing to cover up the multitude of India-shining`s flaws, shout and thump your chest and flood the boards with repetitive posts, and get all hand-clappers and jee huzooris ...

No .. no .. Mohar you`re confusing stuff here. When you say ``talibanization supposed to have hurt pakiland badly - or so we have been hearing from pakis for last 5 years... ``, you`re not distinguishing between the Afghan Jihad and Taliban. It was the CIA Jihad which hurt Pak badly in kalashnikov culture, heroin, refugees etc .. and not Taliban who only emerged in 1994 and were NOT a part of the Jihad against Soviets. Taliban are a perfect ally for Pak and it is only Pak who can deal with them on an equal basis ... noone else. This still holds true. Taliban never hurt Pak`s interests in any way.

PS: Nothing you can say or no amount of abuse will stick on me, however. I do hope though that Indians throw away this facade of being democratic, when they can`t argue with about abusing others.

According to VRV healthy debate is calling other people ``sons-of-bitches`` and abusing their families. I suppose this is ``Gandhian style`` of ``debate`` and ``democracy``. No wonder Gandhi took to breaking cameras after disagreements.

I do consider VRV`s, BJkumar and other people`s concurrence with each other nothing but gobbling up defaecation... but atleast I am not abusing you and your families for disagreeing with me.

Afghan- a policy success.

Pakistan afghans policy is consistant with its creation ideology, islam. . Pakistan made a living by creating the jihadis to kill the russians who were in afghanistan. Now they are collecting money to kill the jihadis they have created.

The generals captured the jihadis and sold them to the americans, the great ghaznavi tradition of doing anything for gold.

Terror any where in the world can be traced to the madrassas of pakistan, and the ideology that created pakistan. Londin bombing are the classic examples, irrespective of teh social circumstances, it is the leassons of TNT transferred through the mothers milk, the stories of the plunder of gaznavi that impells the pakistanis, even in far of london.

The great advantage of pakistan is that it does not have to worry about any policy, they can stick to the eternal one, the notion of Kafir, operationalised in the political arena, as TNT.

I feel sad for the pakistanis, it is so humiliating to be a pakistani in a foreign land.
