[..do you agree that what this indian kashmiri told me is true?....]
He told you that the Indian military is all over Kashmir. I agree with that.
Does the Indian military commit atrocities? It probably does. Thats not surprising given that it is fighting an insurgency. However, there are severe constraints on the Indian military too. Do you know that helicopter gunships are not allowed in Kashmir? It is routinely used by Pak army in Baluchistan. This is mainly to minimize collateral damage.
There are some other factors to consider too. Kashmir`s economy is way above average compared to the rest of India. Clearly that means the Kashmiris are not being exploited. Kashmiris do have their own government and they own their own land. Thats why the Kashmir situation is way different from Palestine or Iraq.

Ranjit,
Pl visit

Though Indian Army head is JJ Singh, he had a good sense of humor and allowed jokes on Sikhs in the laugh bytes section.
I reserve my comment on Kashmir for now.

Paaki Macaca,
Does ur name contain ur roots like Chowdary, Rathore, Chauhan, Bhatti, Malik etc., or was it another rootless name - like many blacks do have in the US - a foreign name?

There was once an NBC TV Drama “The West Wing,” which portrayed how the President of the US dealt with issues.
In one scene, the President holds a closed-door meeting with the Indian and Pakistani representatives. After the meeting was over, the President’s aide asks him, “How did it go?” To which the President replies, “Just shoot me.”
It says quite a bit about these two people. What an ugly truth. Chowk proves it loud and clear.

Sadna,
The post is very informative. An young pariah lota wrote recently abt Karzai. He`s also supposed to be a wee bit non-believer but a liberal. (Pl dont laugh!).
The Mush`s position is this (from ur post):
“The heart of this government is with the Taliban. The tongue is not.” He didn’t claim total insider knowledge, but he said, “I think they want a weak government and want to support the Taliban without letting them win.” Why? “We are asking Musharraf, ‘What are you doing,’ and he says: ‘I’m moving in both ways. I want to support the Taliban, but I can’t afford to displease America...``
Pl mark my words.
He`s being fattened like an oxen (much like Zia was) by the US to be qurbaned at a later date. Their worry is the nuclear arsenal. If they see some lota/loti in sight, they will send Mush to his heaven.

[...``Here you have a neighboring country Afghanistan, that has installed a democratically elected government which is trying to rebuild the country and give a decent life to its people.``
HAHAHAHAH!
Can`t step outside of Kabul though... ....]
HP, whose fault is that? If Pak keeps funding the Taliban, then of course it will lead to instability for a new regime in Kabul. But now the bombs have started to go off in Peshawar. So dont laugh too hard!!
At the end of the day you are pursuing a lose-lose strategy. If the Taliban win, they will ruin Afghanistan again and also destroy your country. If the Taliban lose, as surely they will, they will take out their wrath on Pakistan. On top of it, you will alienate Kabul forever.

Criticism is always welcomed but this HP was in the habit of throwing abuses to India and Indians in all possible ways. He can criticise my country in all possible ways - poverty, minority issues, corruption, lack of civic adm...many many issues without resorting to abuses.
Instead HPees everytime.
In any case I am not (was never) the first abuser on any board.

What are you talking about? Its just our normal way to flirt with each other....;-)
The opposite of love is not hate but indifference. That cliche really holds for us Indians and Pakis.

Indians and Pakistanis are anything but indifferent towards each other. And the opposite of love is hate. Indians and Pakistanis have nothing but hatred towards each other, clearly reflected in Chowk interaction between them. It’s not good for the mental health for those who actively participate in the hate-slinging, nor for their nations. Their deep-seated hatred for each other is astonishing.
