(Most people in Patna and Bihar don`t have clean drinking water let alone such deals. )
Sadly, even people in more developed states in India don`t always have access to potable drinking water and sanitation.
My point was only limited to the state of IT companies in the two countries.

I just checked .... with the exception of three... the ``new`` companies you mentioned are NOT LISTED on the NASDAQ... which was your standard of achievement... Now are we going about making up stuff in true Gandhian fashion eh?
By your standard.... India should have had alteast 8 Nasdaq companies to our 1 (if indeed it is only one ... I don`t know and I don`t care) ... to be even in comparison... and it seems like you only have 3...
Meanwhile.... your GDP/Capita is still below ours... and 20 times more people in India don`t have drinking water than Pakistan.
Shame on you for jerking off on India`s shining ass.

I answered your question. You spoke of Nasdaq and Pakistani engineers in major US companies...
Yaar Devkant, why do you press the issue? Don`t you know Yasser already answered your question and that too in upper case? In case you didn`t notice, let me put out the list of Paki engineers in major US companies again (source: Yasser`s post #132):
MOTOROLLA
NOKIA
MICROSOFT
CISCO
INTEL
SAS

I didn`t know that spelling Motorolla/Motorola was the standard by which you judged the level of a person`s English language...
Now somebody ought to fire the EdExcel and Princeton College Board English department for passing me ....
(I personally think that remark just confirms your call center employee status....)

Aww poor Harish mian.. had you ever travelled abroad you would know that Pakistani Engineers are quite commonplace in all these companies.... but one can`t blame you for not having the opportunity.
Besides naming ``Narayan Murthi`` is hardly enough... My own brother in law is an Intel Project Manager ... and two of my cousins are Engineers for Motorola and Nokia...

no bhai. I am a tooooo thick skinned marwari business man to be hurt by people like you. it for every one to judge that when i gave the example of an indian company involved in a billion dollar take over in the west, who got hurt and tried to hide behind the arguement that they are very old.
so according to your logic, a company can be big and can be involved in billion dollar take overs only if it is as old as the tatas. so by that logic microsoft has no right to take over any billion dollar company!!!!!
and bhaiji, why did u get soooo angry when i pointed out how your pakistani engineering is being put to good use in post 133.
rgds,

As far as I can see you are probably a second New York Cabby.... who has now fallen back on the same old Indian propaganda that is your hallmark.
Now think about it... it is TATA and not those other companies that made that ``steel deal`` now ... isn`t it? Had Nawaz Sharif not dabbled in politics.... Ittefaq Foundaries would have overtaken TATA many years ago...
So don`t get all excited... I met Ramalinga Raju, the main man of Satyam Computers myself in December (2005) ... being a man of action... he didn`t seem to share your crass arrogance and armchair scounderel theories....

Yaar Dev, Paki engineers are much sought after for their expertise (now don`t ask me in what, you know it). Al-Qaeda, JeM, LeT, the Iraqi insurgents, disgruntled Muslims in UK, US, Australia, etc., Almost every terrorist act anywhere in the world unmistakably has some Paki footprint. You`re being very cruel to deny them this well-deserved recognition.

Of course they are commonplace, otherwise, how can explain them being caught for plotting terrorist acts from places as diverse as Lodi in California to Virginia, from Australia to the UK?
My own brother in law is an Intel Project Manager ... and two of my cousins are Engineers for Motorola and Nokia...
Sure..you don`t have to convince us that hard. I`m sure you`re brother is one of those 6 engineers you listed in #132. So which one of them is it? Is it Intel Imran, Nokia Nazeer, Microsoft Majid, CISCO Ahmed, SAS Salman or Motorolla Mohammed?

Harish mian,
One almost feels sorry for the way you are squirming.
But for us... could you please state clearly that it is indeed your view that Pakistani engineers are not employed by these companies?
Like I said... underachievers like yourself have a perpetual self esteem problem which is why you try and live vicariously through TATA`s success (which in of itself does not prove anything per se in this discussion)... of which you will not even get the minutest piece of the pie....
BTW... ALGIN is another 300 million Dollar company on the NASDAQ owned by none other than Zia Chishti... and incorporated with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan...

LOL! Yaar Yasser, why would I even attempt that? I`m not defending anything. It is you who is squirming and trying to wriggle out, having been unable to prove that ``tens of thousands of Paki engineers`` are working in ``major US companies``. Heck, you haven`t been able to cough out even a dozen verifiable names.
But for us... could you please state clearly that it is indeed your view that Pakistani engineers are not employed by these companies?
I know a Paki who was my colleague at Microsoft, and many more at other workplaces. But that`s not the contention; it is the ``tens of thousands`` comment.
Like I said... underachievers like yourself have a perpetual self esteem problem which is why you try and live vicariously through TATA`s success (which in of itself does not prove anything per se in this discussion)... of which you will not even get the minutest piece of the pie....
Well, if an underachiever like you can jump up and down at a piddly $300-million company like Align, what`s wrong with being proud of Tata`s achievements? And being a denizen of the blessed land, I can sympathize with ``your self esteem problem`` for having to wake up just about every day to some bad news. If it is not the US bombing Pakistan, then some suicide bomber. Life isn`t just fair to Pakis.

Hi every body,
May I point out that I have been involved with engineering students, amongst the finest ones, in both Pakistan & India. I find them to be refreshingly different from the opinionated gentlemen interactors on chowk. They are intelligent and forward looking, care two hoots for the Gandhi or the Jinnah. Software or Hardware, their acumen is great and commitment /dedication levels are high. A number of Pakistani engineers are employed in Companies owned by Indians. I admit that the number of pakistani companies that I know is lower but that is not due to any inherent inferiority in the quality of intellect or talent or educational system. These engineers are not the types who would ever get into mad notions of extremist Jehad or Houris. May the young of both countries prevail.
By the way, the discussion has moved very far away from Bajaur.

Harish mian....
Whether a third rate call center worker accepts a contention that is universally known is hardly on issue.
Does it really matter that you don`t think Pakistani Engineers are there in these companies? One of the biggest diversity groups at MICROSOFT campus is ``Pakistanis at Microsoft``... You ought to call Bill Gates and tell him to stop that fraud man...
And I suppose these people should have consulted you before they wrote this article:
``...Another change for EEs over the years, according to the IEEE-USA survey, is that Asian-American IEEE members have the highest median incomes ($99,000), non-Hispanic, white members are at $93,000, and others (usually engineers or computer scientists from India, Pakistan, or the Middle East) have medians of $92,100.``
http://www.elecdesign.com/Articles/Index.cfm?AD=1&ArticleID=2864
Seems to me that they are saying Pakistani engineers are as good as Indian ones ... Must be ISI at work man...
Majumdar mian,
Last time Harish mian tried doing that he was caught lying like the shameless gandhian he is... he is awol from those boards and resorts to abuse everytime I point that out. So these days he is trying to rebuild some self esteem by thinking up of ways to ``shut me up`` on this board...
