India-Pakistan talks: the endless cycle

The simple fact is that the Pakistani side sees the ``peace`` talks as just another element of its green agenda - the jihadi front being the main thrust!

Therefore, you can write this article (which I refuse to read) again and keep recycling it forever.

I think the notion of ``talks`` (b/w India & Pak) was a Clintonian doctrine. While the american empire was in the making then, in the post Kargil, era it was thought that as the hostilities between India and Pak would reduce, there would be no need for them to carry nuclear weapons - so there would be fewer challengers with in the empire to its hegemony. But now the world has changed 180 degrees since 1998. First of all, the empire is already in the process of collapsing and urgency is upon salvaging what can be salvaged. Second, the world has been so polarized. In this world the collpsing empire has chosen India as its nuclear partner whereas on Pakistani side the situation is different. Even though empire considers Pakistan as its potential enemy yet it has to maintain a hypocritical policy viz a viz Pakistan. The reason for this dichotomy is its nuclear status. If this state fails, the nuclear technology will go into the hands of enemies of the empire. The military fascists in Pakistan are well aware of their leverage after seeing what empire has done to saddam, korea and other helpless nations in the gulf. So there is no chance that pakistan would ever give up its nuclear technology. This brings us back to the ``talks``. Whereas, India and empire want to maintain a status quo on Kashmir, Pakistan is trying to milk this cow as much as possible. Hence this is a new status quo, which benefits both Pakistan and India. I think the real losers in this whole status is the Americans- and they deserve it.

There you have it! A walking, talking example of why these peace-talks fail! It`s pretty darn easy to close your eyes, block your ears and point the finger, isn`t it? Why bother with rationality when you can be stubborn?

This article is both reasonable and articulate... which probably explains why you refuse to read it. If Pakistan and India are to ever grow up and shrug off their ageless hate, people such as the author must be brought forward while those of the bjkumar type should shut their traps and get out of the way...

hey guys learn to read something and then point out the faults on the basis of a logical argument and not just childish talk.

I think for an Indian the writer has done a good job and I personally feel that the only way to resolve any India-Pakistan disputes is if the two sides leave the Kashmir issue aside for a while and concentrate on building good socio-eco-cultural relations. Let there be a growth of trust and an end to a `culture of mistrust.`

Pakistan wants Indian Kashmir.

There is no way India is going to agree to give up ANY sort of control of Indian Kashmir..

The ``talks`` are just a way of jerking the land of the pure around...

One world together in peace.

Enemosity between India and Pakistan have had an intense turmoil for both close neighbors, of course. We should put the past behind us, it will take time to heal the rifts of previous years.

In Pakistan, the fruitless protests, religious conflicts and retaliations, economic recessions and hardships continue.Pakistan is under the clutches of Al-Qaida for it`s own selfish and ruthless satanic motives.

In such hard times, we need hope in the form of inspiration and strong commitment to the accomplishment of peace and harmony among India and Pakistan shinning like stars against a black sky of hopelessness.

Lets show determination towards peace against an animal, called enemosity. Enough .

Lets start from Chowk , a step towards peace and harmony for Indo_Pak wellbeing to prove that we`re civilised neighbors.

On a side note, I would say that, with skirt and all, I don`t think that the fairy of peace should be flying around here.

Nothing wrong with keep talking. Talk talk talk away...keep talking ..doesn`t hurt. Bukbukbukbuk...nothing will change on kashmir, nothing will change on terrorism and in 10-20 years..when the fortunes of two countries is very different and negotiations can actually deliver something.

The skirt reminded me of the what was dubbed in Pakistan as ``Suththann Diplomacy`` by ordinary people once - the word suththan being the punjabi equivalent of word Shalwar. Suththan Diplomacy referred to those NGOs, with people like Asma Jahangir and assorted fankaars aka Kanjars in Punjabi who would take money from Americans and go to Indian border at Wahga and dance and sing with RAW agents posing as Indian population. This used to happen prior to 9/11 on regular basis. God! what a suththan it was :)

What has India done to you? Pakistan is down the drain , just b/c of the mullahs like you. Pakistan is #1 in corruption, where more than 85% of the population lives below the poverty levels, where women folks are not safe on the streets, where mugging and looting has been increasing enormously, where drug addiction and dishonesty has become norms, where bribery and women abuse is considered status symbol, where women are considered to be half human and where women are being treated as worst than animals.

Now, Indians , they don`t come to Pakistan to do all such corruptions, your own Pakistanis are responsible for all that disgrace of pakistan.

You ask me what has India done to pakistan? Are you on some kind of drugs or something? First of all they have Pakistani territory under their occupation i.e. Kashmir and Siachin; second they are continually committing grave acts of genocide in Kashmir for the past 16 years which has cost close to hundered thousand lives; and innumerable rapes, and property damage is on top of that. All this when they agreed on a peaceful solution to the territorial problems in the community of nations in 1948. Does December 16, 1971 ring a bell, when through naked aggression they biforcated our country? Lest not forget the 20 years of acts of terrorism on Pakistani soil in the post USSR invasion of Afghanistan; which was followed by 10 year of civil war in urban sindh.

Oye mirasio, you should worry about your bhang bhonsra and leave dealing with hindus with us. You enlightened mirasis have lost half of the country in 1971 with rangeela sharabi zaani Yehya khan and you have lost the soveriegnity of our country under this mirasi Musharaf. A nuclear power like Pakistan crawls like dogs in front of Westen powers because mirasi class has no backbone and no morals.
