See, this is exactly why Kashmir should not be discussed in decent company. :)
Aparna, maa`m, have mercy. What would you take to make this the very last time you use the word Kashmir in any of your articles?

hamidm:
``.......... on a happier note, you and i and our chldren and grand children don`t have to worry about anything - the kashmir `problem` will be around for another hundred years or more .......``
I presume you mean the next few generations of Indians and Pakistanis; your and my children are safely parked thousands of miles away. ;)
However, my bet is that these children will be fighting over more pressing issues, such as distribution of river waters which is soon becoming a life and death issue for many.
And I will now withdraw from this Board now as many more worthy people have already joined this discussion.

it is really not as bad as you indians would like to think
The way pakis are treated by DHS obviously suggest otherwise...
take stuka for example..now that he`s got a paki entry/exit mark on his passport, he can forget about working in any capacity for the US government that requires any level of clearance...

mohar,
thanks for the warning ....... i will be okay as soon as you guys hand over kashmir to me - i have no idea what i will do with it but it is a matter of principle ........
......... but don`t worry, as far as i am concerned, kashmir is way down on the list of things that pakistan needs to tackle - restoring democracy, getting rid of poverty, deporting wahabis and jihadis to deoband (india) and saudi arabia, cleaning up the streets, getting people off the railroad tracks ( oh yes, we too have the same problem), introducing deodrant, opening up the liquor shops and getting women to shave their legs ............ kashmir is way down on the list but that doesn`t mean we should roll over and let the horrible hindoos have their way ..............

anil mian,
``extremist cancer stricken place? ``
......this is where even a normally reasonable person like you shows his extreme prejudice, but it is really not as bad as you indians would like to think (and sometimes how i make it out to be for my own nefarious reasons ) ......... be my guest some day and i promise you will have a better time in lahore or islamabad than you can ever have in delhi ........ by the way, even though i voted for bush twice, he is not exactly a very credible person at this time; as for blair and putin, they have their own credibility issues .......... but i do agree with you that india is probably a better place for some (repeat, some) minorities than pakistan - however, the kashmiris will not be a minority so they won`t have any issues unless they all turn out to be ahmedis !

Yo Hamdim - dude, everything OK at home?... since when you became a flaming jihadi?... take a break and get out of the room, get a martini or something... if you keep going like this - you are going to kill yourself... and a bunch of kafirs with dynamite around your waist...
be careful... :)
be careful... :)

anil: the only ``cancer stricken place`` i see is between your two ears. not the physical disease, thank god. by the mental cancer that you suffer from when you refer to a nation of 145 million people as if it is was a disease.
Pakistan is here to stay. Get this through your head. Then talk about peace and what not.

Hamidm sahib:
``...why does pakistan have to give up its position on kashmir - why not india ?``
This is a because of jihadist free Indian muslims.
I call it Sania Mirza, Azim Premji, Shah Rukh Khan, Irfan Pathan, and Farzana Versey advantage. Bush believes in it, Blair believes in it, Europe believes in it, and of course Putin believes in it.
Of course I believe in it too, and will accept, there is more to be delivered to minorities thru however defective Indian democracy.
Honestly, Hamidm sahib, will you deliver a chunk of land and people to extremist cancer stricken place?
Will you, if so how could you? You may be quite lonely. Today, even the most powerful man cannot take it away from however defective democracy and put it on the silver platter to be delivered to somewhere closer to talibans.
I hope you will allow India banias to enjoy this advantage.

correction to #239 - the only bogeyman being raised is by satyamvadi himself in #237, not shishapa as i wrote. sorry shishapa - i know you are too smart to create bogeymen and then scare yourself with them. :-)
#239 Posted by tahmed32 on December 23, 2006 2:46:35 pm
hamidm still holding the fort i see. fighting no doubt with a shot of dutch courage. but you remain quite accurate on kashmir of course with all shots hitting the bulls eye. :-)
satyamvadi #233- you claimed that pakistanis have the akhand bharat bogeymen. permit me to point out that in discussing the kashmir issue, hamidm (the only pakistani in the last several posts) is not referring to any akhand bharat bogeyman. permit me also to draw your attention to the only bogeyman being raised here is the muslim bogeyman (most explicitly in shishapa #237).

The moderates and extremists would not settle for anything less, just the
means are different. It is the same blackmail, one is sugar coated, another is jahar coated.
They are basically same.

shishapa,
You are correct to sound the caution bell. Hopefully, us Indians have learnt our lessons from the history of the past thousand years and we will not become complacent as was our wont in the past. Muslims anywhere in the world are formidable enemies - something about their culture and religion that makes them fanatically, often irrationally, focused on winning territory for which they are willing to typically `qurban` a lot more than other groups would be; and that`s why Indians or whoever is battling Muslims should never put their guard down, never be complacent and be ready for a really long drawn war.
Satyavadi

.......... on a happier note, you and i and our chldren and grand children don`t have to worry about anything - the kashmir `problem` will be around for another hundred years or more .......
