One should be careful as Indian industry and merchants can set trojan horse and make channel to export via Kashmir detrimental and indirectly get pipeline to Afghnistan. Talk of free border for trade is fine but in actual practice will dreadful as then in addition to China, Indians will dump goods and our business will be only traders and small and large business will be wiped out and farm imports will destroy agricultural and some wealth creation houses like Sugar factories will be wiped out in time.

I studied ng prices over years and find around 4.5 years period there are dips ( or peaks) in localised sense.( Local maximum or minimum in that range). The reasons can be many and they have definite logic for 60% and about 40% are unforseen situations ( When you look back you can ( in epilogue) understand why it happened. Intropolation is piece of cake extrapolation is impossible in equity markets its all speculation .
The equties indicated give dividend on average range of 15%. Almost all are at bottom range about 50% of yealy peak. In next 3x15 to 4x15 years one can pick up 45% to 60% dividend and Natural gas prices will rise ( as prise has gone down marginal fields are getting abandoned and use of NG will increase is prediction ). Also oil prise have dived down from 72 to around 60 dollars. Within few years price will go through normal cycle and prices will get around 65 to 68 or even more ( all speculations) NG will go up in price and Canadian Natural Gas stocks will go up and if one sells one can get good gains. ( if for good or bad political problems get flareup in saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Russia or Azebaijan , nigeria , sudan etc will be make energy prices pick up even better)I do not know tax implications for sure.

Now that Mushrraff has publicly said that Pakistan would give up the claim over Kashmir. Therefore, I can definitely see you with your family be able to travel to Srinagar from Pakistani Kashmir, and enjoy Kashmiri tea in a Shikara in the Dal Lake. Although you may have pay in Indian Rupees to enjoy. Although whatever BJ may say, economic integration may happen with minor geographical or political changes in either Kashmir.

For marketing reasons, LOC may be called to be made irrelevant. Arjun`s of India may not call it visionary (or courageous) on Pakistan`s part, and BJs of India may take out processions in Delhi and Jammu, but I do not know what Hamidm`s of Pakistan will do it, other than book a suite in the Oberoi by the Dal Lake.

Pakis - partition was done in 1947, it`s over, finished, end of story... there is no unfinished business, no more land to get, no more kashmir to fall into your laps... You can`t even keep the land you have, with talibans making their kingdoms all over the place...

Middle class is buffer between two extremes.
Generally they are anxious and people with awareness and have time and inclination for future changes. Very well to do always survive and prosper in any regime. Poor are poor to have time to think or too do any thing , generally they do not get angry or too diturbed as life is so hard.
If regimes take care of middle classes normally then nobody will make problems and things will be fine.
This class is never happy as their aspirations and real life refuse to meet. Most restive and dangerous class though small in numbers. Middle classes are like indicator of future.
