Salaam and Eid Mubarark to all..and ofcourse a very happy new year. The first I heard of Sadaam`s execution was whilst driving home for Eid with my friend who talked about her disgust for what had happened. She is South African and has grown up in a family of political activists who fought hard during Aparteid. In her mind there was no justifying capital punishment and especially not on Eid. I ventured that perhaps she would see things differently if it was a member(s) of her family who had suffered under Sadam. She pointed out that the anti aparteid struggle tried to be non violent..look at how much Mandela achieved peacefully.
I thought about this for a few minutes..I am no expert on these topics and there are people out there much more knowledgeable.
So what did I feel about his execution? For me it stood as a symbol for the sad state of humanity today that we can ignore the reverence of Eid and kill someone. In terms of Sadam? I kinda chuckled...the man was executed on Eid with the words of the Quran on his lips...and no matter what I thought of him...I reckon Allah may just forgive some of his sins and if I was Sadam..I would be thinking is there a better way to go? On our holy day, the words of the Quran on my lips, a quick death....fantastic!!! Much better that rotting prison for the rest of one`s life!!!

that wasn`t the army
and a vasectomy doesn`t involve cutting off your tallywhacker...if that happened to you, the doctor used your ignorance to cover his malpractice..

Arjun Bhayya,
I never said that vasectomy involves cutting off your tallywhacker. This is what I said:
{``All the free radios in the world couldn`t compensate a man for tying his tallywhacker. ``}
Anyway, thank you for enlightening us with your own personal experience. It does seem, from your own issues, that vasectomy does impact one`s eyesight. :) Why else would you read tying as cutting?

even the biggest enemies of saddam--including the treacherous Rawafid--will have to admit he was noble and dignified and unafraid in facing Death. subhan Allah!

``bs khan cannot hide his hatred of Islam even as he pretends to be a Muslim...and then invents straw men like a typical mirasi in order to rebut his opponents whose arguments are much beyond his tabla nawaz intellect...``
Abey, Choutiya you need to stop abusing other interactors and replying in ad hominems. Please tell us what is the Alif Laila ``freedom`` that Islamists like you have for those faithfuls who do not follow your moral codes- not to talk about the ``freedom`` for your dhimmi slaves???

The cut and paste artist is a paradigm of what Gadamar calls as the ``fusion of horizons``- this time it is the Islamist mating with the Marxists. It is very easy to churn out such Islamists conspiritorial propaganda- just cut and paste the marxist propaganda against America and replace the word ``Marxism`` with the word ``Islamism`` where ever it occurs- and lo and behold you have another lulu.com publication ready from the Masadi`s propaganda factory!!!

Arsadi. This news would gladden your heart. This is the real evidence to your brand of conspiracy theory of western capitalism spreading war and diseases world wide so that they can sell more.

CIA and Mossad caught deliberately spreading AIDS
Five members of a sinister international network have been sentenced to death in Libya for deliberately and systematically infecting people in Muslim areas with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
A doctor from Palestine confessed to being an agent working for the Israeli regime. According to the Libyan government, ``Some say that it was the CIA, others say it was Mossad.`` AIDS is now a global pandemic, and there have been countless incidents in which large numbers of people have been ``accidently`` infected, often in mysterious circumstances and with evidence of a cover-up by officials.
The origin of the AIDS virus is uncertain, but there have been widespread allegations that it was developed at an American biological weapons laboratory by genetic modifications of based SIV, a virus found naturally in monkeys. The man who ``discovered`` HIV personally testified as an expert witness for the defense, claiming that the gang members were all innocent. Expanding on the Israeli connection, conspiracy theorists have noted that, as a demographic group, Jews are naturally resistant to AIDS for medical reasons, and circumcision is known to confer a high level of immunity.
Drugs corporations generate revenues from the sale of AIDS drugs to victims in wealthy countries.

Musharaff is acting on behalf of the interests of the pre-dominant Punjabi Muslim army officer corps. I do not think he is as dominant a dictator as Gen Zia.

#105 tolkinin: That does not ring true (i.e. that the Indian army has not overthrown the government because of diverse ethnicities). Musharraf is from an ethnic community that is barely represented in the military, e.g., but felt the military would be with him if he took over.
The roots of the military takeovers in Pakistan are to be found in cold war politics I think. And of course the three generals (Ayub, Zia, and Musharaff) will be go down in history as having violated the sacred trust a nation places on its military when it arms them and expects them to defend the nation - not take over the nation.

......i think the most hated entity amongst muslims, at the moment, are israel and usa........and the most hated individuals are the heads of these two states........based on this, if one wants to become a hero in the muslim world, all one has to do is to take on these two entities.............
.....once one does that, muslims are generally wiling to forgive any other sins the individual may have committed.....saddam hussein and obl are perfect examples of that......saddam, as many pakistanis may know, never supported pakistan........he never supported kashmir, and was in fact more allied with india than with pakistan......pakistanis, on the whole are not treated well in arab lands........they are treated quite a bit better in the usa (and probably in israel, if they visit)........
obl has done quite a bit of damage to pakistan.........his al-qaeda has carried out terrorist attacks in pakistan, which have killed more pakistanis than americans........his taliban supporters are creating a mess for pakistan`s tribal areas........
......yet obl and saddam are quite popular in pakistan.......i remember, during the 1st gulf war, there were pictures of saddam praying, all over pakistan.........why, one may ask would pakistanis support obl and saddam.........
the answer is quite simple............because they took on the usa and us presidents........they thus passed the ultimate test of, ``greatness`` - at least in the mind of majority of muslims........i don`t know how many pakistanis i have talked with who admit saddam and obl are evil, yet they say bush and usa are more evil and hence they support the smaller evil..........
......quite an interesting way of thinking about events........but there is certainly a large amount of injustice in how killers are dealt with........saddam and obl - both terrorists against their own or others - are wanted......while bush, who has ordered the killing of far more innocents than obl or saddam ever did, walks around free.........as does putin, who has ordered the killing of so many in chechnya.........as do so many others......
........so while i don`t agree with those who support saddam and obl, i do agree with those who feel that bush, saddam and obl all should face the gallows.........
