naqshbandi: Rawalpindi is the prettiest town in the world!! (or used to be, until they replaced all the grass and trees with concrete and stupid buildings.

#156 we could teach you some panjabi cuss words to use in that case. the pakistani-brits would all vote for you, and the rest of the population wouldnt understand and assume you were merely reaching out to to the minority community.

No actually he is capable of much more. Just to clarify, I know Imran a bit more than you`re assuming. The things he wants are not possible unless through a revolution, and he`s too impatient to raise cadres to do that. And he does not understand power structures either. What he does not understand is when a person like ZAB was helpless agianst these independent power structures and failed, how will he succeed?
But he has this amazing strength of belief in himself. Who knows?

tahmad/zeemax #:........imran khan is an idealist.......a quality hugely lacking in pakistan.......this is his strenght.....life isn`t always about successes and failures.......it is (and should be) about idealism, principles and convictions.....those are far more important than success and failure.......
.......countries do not make progress through the success and failure of one odd politician.....if that were the case, then pakistan would be an extremely successful country, as it has had scores of successful politicians......
.......countries prosper through the efforts of a large number of idealistic and principled individuals who, make their decisions based on convictions.....not on chances of success or failure.......not all such individuals are successful.......but sooner or later, one of them is.......and that is all that is needed......
......i think it is immaterial if imran khan is successful or if he fails......he has had plenty of chances to disregard his idealism and convictions and sell out and become a success.....any party would love to have him as a member and would offer him very prominent positions.......
.....i was in a meeting when he was asked this......i liked his answer........he laughed and said he knows people think he is a fool for being so politically idealistic........but he said, if he ever wins, he wants to win on his own terms........if he cannot do that, then at least he would have tried his best......
....it is a sad day for a country, if idealism and covictions become secondary to success and failure..........

It was all a frame-up job to attack M.E. But only time will tell. You`re right, let`s not get into this.

Re: # 147 Google it, I`m sure you will find the articles that confirm those details. Both cars were driven by the bombers.

#154 zeemax: i agree with you. like you, i got the chance to ask him a question once, and that was basically the same that i wrote below - if he wants to make a difference, why not stick with what he does well (raise money for charities) rather than what he doesnt do well (politics). he responded with something about needing political power to get anything done. made no sense to me.

tahmed, there`s a serious problem with Imran Khan`s politics. I said it to his face. He is too intense. Most of what he says is right, but it is a personal crusade for him, and he doesn`t listen to anyone. Most people are put-off by his emotional and opininiated outbursts.
That`s why he will never be able to make any real difference, even though he has the qualities of one in a hundred million. Politics doesn`t work like that.

abskii #150 why would imran khan still not be a paki?? unless there is some way for him to change is place of birth retroactively.
i think you would make a fine prime minister of UK, btw. i bet you would have convinced Bush that overthrowing saddam was perhaps not such a great idea after all.
