Sure .. Chalta ... but what will it get you by rebelling against Pakis in the White mindset? All you could get is proving your allegiance to your Gora masters against Pakis. And then?

Sadna,
Most of the rest of the time too you Pakistanis spend telling us what low lifes we hindus are exactly like Jade Goody did.
You must accept we told you the same thing before Jade Goody did.

Thanks :)
I am not faking, just ask aimie or shobig.
I agree that if it happened in the States the reaction would be different - over there, the sensetivity seems to be more about Black people.
The UK and India do have an emotional bond, our histories go waay back together. The English language and in some ways the Hindi language is evidence of that.
Thanks :)

After work today, if the weather holds out, I was planning on taking a walk to my local asian area to buy the hindustan times, groceries, and pakora (I do this once a month-ish, when I`ve had a long week). I am slightly worried.
If I get anything else other than the usual stares from old folk, I shall report here, or in my ilog as a comment on the situation. :D
(bets are on for the guy in the shop to make comments about `long time no see` as he usually does, and the man in the other shop to find it amusing that I`m buying almond barfi...)

Almond Barfi ... yes.
...in the States the reaction would be different - over there, the sensetivity seems to be more about Black people.
Over there, the social evolution has been by colour and colour alone. The social evolution goes by a spectrum of shades of white below and so on. White remains at the top, then oriental yellows, then tans like south Americans, then browns like the East-Asians, and then of-course the blacks don`t stand a chance unless they`re not that black so you can`t see them in the dark. Those blacks as Diana Ross or Muhammad Ali (despite his Muslimness) are still ok. They avoid being at the end of the spectrum.
What is this if not insanity?

There is nothing racist in the press about Shilpa either, or any other Indians. We are talking about the mainstream press, aren`t you, not the BNP papers? Imran used to make appearances in the magazines as long as he was married to Jemima, and to some extent, the artist he was going around with before that. I had a gift subscription to Harpers and Queen, and the only mention I have seen of him in a year was in a snippet about Jemima and Hugh.

You don`t know why the marriage broke up, so let`s not guess.

There is no difference, they are both exotic playthings of rich women, white or otherwise. Have to say Jemima looks a lot happier these days, a feline sex goddess as described in the Observer, of all publications.

I think it`s because Paki is an insult, Indian is not.
Btw, just adding, Imran does have a strong accent, but I agree with you, good for him that he hasn`t tried to change it.

No Zeemax, only pakis perceive things i nthat manner. rebeling against pakis is not placating gora sentiments. it is mutually exclusive. The sooner pakistanis learn that and do the same with the pakis, the better their lives in the UK will be. The goras or Indians don`t have any issues confronting the scourge of pakis, it is the pakistanis who do. Th ebritish pakistani community is the most confused lot in the land. Unable to integrate in an adopted land (which is theirs by birth and choice) and not clamping down on the paki segment among them is what is the issue. time to confront the ``enemy wihtin``...

I think what the responses to this article show, espcially from Zeemax are that some Pakistanis are just as racist, if not more than some Britons, and with far less cause. After all , Britannia did rule the world once, Pakistania never did. I therefore think that people like this do not have the right to complain about racism when it happens to them; Zeemax seems to be pleased it happened to an Indian. The general British public is obviously as horrifed by her behaviour as most Indians. What is Zeemax going to say when Shilpa wins, as Ladbrokes tips her to do? She has already been paid way more than any of the other contestants. The way she has handled the situation leaves her with her dignity intact. I have never had a high opinion of Shilpa, but I do now.
I have had Australian friends say she is gorge, that Jade was a slapper; people have asked if I have dvds of her work, which I don`t, but have promised to ebay for them. She has done well out of this. However, I don`t agree with people who say what`s the big deal, she was paid. You are paid to do a job, not accept abuse. I think Shilpa would never have walked out because she sees it as another job. A responsible actor does not leave a half shot film. She must see it as just an unprofessional thing to do, and I think she has done the right thing. After all, BB is about winning the prize and being liked by the public, and she`s doing well on both counts.
I also think that people making disparaging remarks about Jade Goody because of her class are wrong too; however, I think if she had been more educated and aware, this may not have happened. She does agree now that she was a racist bully and that it was the most important thing ever to have happened to her; maybe this will lead her to knowing more about herself and about the hundreds of thousands of people of Indian descent with whom she shares her - still great -country.

If the creators of Big Brother wanted to make the show really interesting, they`d pit Jade goody types against a pious bearded Muslim who prays five times a day, refuses to eat anything because it isn`t halal and in general stays away from the female contestants unless they are properly veiled and behaving modestly. Hee fucking hee. Zeemax would have a field day, the Danish cartoonists would look like Mickey mice in comparison...am pretty sure WW III would ensue :)))
