usually, articles on CHOWK are graced with 150-200 replies and talkbacks! it says a great deal about the verborrhea (that`s the word made excrement!) in this article that it`s DIS-graced with 4--and I bet NOT ONE of these 4 misguided souls read the whole thing! I certainly didn`t, and I didn`t have to, to know that taking so much space to say nothing is probably the author`s raison d`etre!

{``Both Bush and Blair claim to be great admirers of Churchill, but never come round to read this chapter in Iraq`s history or Churchill`s naval debacle at Gallipoli. Now another naval misadventure is under planning. ``}

Singh Sahib,
Thank you for this detailed and scholarly analysis. Kurdistan may well be the final glue that binds Iran and Turkey into a mutually-beneficial policy in Iraq. As you indicated, the Turks would love to take over Northern Iraq along with the Turkmen-populated Kirkuk area. Iran could rule eastern Iraq through its proxy - the democratically elected Shia government. The Sunni Arabs would be left with a choice to be with Syria or invite the autocratic Soodis to take over. The days of Iraq as an independent country are over. The only monkey wrench in the scenario is the selfish vision of the Soodis, Kuwaitis, Israelis, and GCC Arabs. They are the ones pestering Dubya for action against Iran.
