``President General Pervez Musharraf has said a conspiracy is being hatched against him and the country over the reference against the chief justice of Pakistan. ``
after a pause he elaborated:
the conspiracy was hatched -- by the Prime minister -- Minister of Information -- Minister of Railways and that foul mouth bugger the Law Minister -- they all made me do this -- it was not my idea -- it was the forked tongue Bank-Tellers` idea to malign me -- who in cahoot with the CJ told the non functional CJ not to resign......if you don`t believe me ask the Geo TV how the anti-mushrraf polic destroyed their studio and busted their heads and smashed their cameras.
Folks save me from the attacks of my potted plant Shaukat Aziz....Help me Help!

I am beginning to think that a corner has indeed been turned.
When was the last time anybody saw Pakistani agitators demonstrating peacefully...
Without weapons.
Resisting atrocity.
With nothing but their own bodies...
Taking the hits and the blows...
It reminds me of somebody from the subcontinent.
Who used the same technique very effectively, a while ago.
Perhaps the Pakistanis have finally come to realize the merit of the technique and appreciate its power.

Present turmoil conspiracy against me: Musharraf
* President says he has no personal differences with chief justice
* Urges protestors and police to exercise restraint
PAKPATTAN: President General Pervez Musharraf has said a conspiracy is being hatched against him and the country over the reference against the chief justice of Pakistan.
Addressing a public gathering of some 30,000 people at Pakpattan on Saturday, Gen Musharraf said he was confident that with the nation’s support, he would overcome the “intrigues” against him and the government.
The president asked people not to protest on the roads against the suspension of the chief justice, as this would hamper Pakistan’s development and damage its image. He urged both protestors and the police to “exercise restraint” and not resort to violence.
Gen Musharraf said he had no personal differences with the chief justice. He said the reference was prepared by the government and it was his legal and constitutional duty to refer it to the Supreme Judicial Council. He stressed that he had only acted upon the advice of the prime minister and some ministers. He said some people were “doing politics and hatching conspiracies against me and the country on an issue which is legal and constitutional”. He reiterated that he would accept whatever verdict the Supreme Judicial Council made on the reference.
Referring to Friday’s police action against private TV channel Geo in Islamabad and bomb hoax at the Geo office in Karachi, the president said the incident was “very unfortunate” and condemned it. He said an investigation had been launched to determine who was behind the police assault on the television station. He said the action was an attempt to malign him. “I am blamed for everything,” he said.
Gen Musharraf said he was a firm believer in press freedom and so it was unthinkable that he would take such action. He said it was under his rule that the media was given freedom. There was no private media in the country six years ago, he pointed out. He said he would continue to support press freedom.
The president also announced a gas supply project for southern Punjab worth Rs 4 billion, grant of ownership rights to 21 slum areas in the region, and Rs 2.5 million for each union council for development projects in their areas. agencies

The following closing line from Cowasjee`s column of March 18, 2007; entitled ``Mismanaged and Dysfunctional``, is rather telling.
This is a short column. Disgust and dismay prevents me from writing more. All we can do is murmur to ourselves “Let Good triumph over Evil.”

Q: How many Pakistani khakis does it take to beat up one unarmed lawyer?
A: Two. One to beat him to pulp and the other to ensure that the first one does a ``good`` job!

``The ``liberal`` elite among the PPPs are a known group of Mohajir-haters that all of us recognize and none of us trusts. ``
Salim Bhai,
You are quite correct on this issue. There are a great many decadent and subversive elements within the rank of PPP itself that BB should take care of. I think BB needs to re-invent her political manifesto towards building a liberal , secular and democratic future Pakistan, throw away the baggage of Islamism and project herself as some one who can be a viable replacement for Musharaff politically.

All interactors,
I hereby apologize to all the lawyers of the world for all the lousy things I have ever said regarding that profession!
I reproduce below a picture that Dr. Lokraj put up on UP. This picture is the reason, the ``cause``.
I would have considered it beyond belief - had not the image stared back so starkly!
My dear friend - the lawyer, I do not know who you are, but I salute you from my heart! And if it is any consolation, please remember that the path that you are following is the only path that still works - yes, even in this day and even in this age! I am not even going to name any names - and certainly not the great man who went down that path a long while ago!
My sincere best to you, my friend!

The author of this ``reliable`` report, B. Raman, is one of the worst Pak-haters in India. While it is possible that the Corp Commanders sent a letter to Musharraf, I wouldn`t believe B. Raman if he told me that Monday came after Sunday or 2 + 2 = 4.
