Date
A good and timely article indeed.
The commercial interests, the governments, especially, the undemocratic and in Pakistan even the Islamic Fundoos have joined hands to bolster cricket for obvious reasons, without giving any thought to the cost it is entailing to the third world poor nations like India and Pakistan. It is only the people who can assert themselves to put an end to this satanic game. But how?

Mr date, you have asserted, but not established the link between commercialization and poor quality of sports. cuba should be seen as an anamoly..in the us and most of the western world sports is highly commercial and practiced at a highly competative level.
