Uh yeah you just proved my point. Yvonne Ridley is a nut, she support Zarhqawi even after his own family disowned him! My Shia colleague has lost her niece, cousin`s family including a two year old because of that creep. Her criticism of Israel and Zionism is dead on but jeez she was even fired from Al-Jazeera. Of course Osman Ghazi was named after the famous 3rd Caliph Usman Ghani. Just as Mehmed the Conqueror was named after the Holy Prophet (PBUH), as was Sultan Ahmet and all the Mehmets and Ahmets (Mohammeds and Ahmeds) throughout the era of the Ottomans. Even Mustafa Kemal Pasha was named after God`s Most Perfect Creation (PBUH).

Interesting news in #210 by Urstruly that the Government plans to use stun gas and to storm them. I don`t see how it could work.

There`re 6,500 girls in the Jamia Hafsa. Out of those 3,000+ are involved in the current militancy. Even if they`re rendered unconscious or something with gas, where`re they going to take them all? To prison? Or sent back home? Surely there must be some plan for afterwards.

In any event, if this is carried out, the result will be as follows, because they`re now wearing exactly the same headbands (as seen in today`s Geo TV interview with Dr. Shahid Masood).

In Karachi recently, I went to attend a wedding in close family friends. The daughter of the family who was a vivacious hip-hugger clad college girl last time I saw her 3-4 years ago, a talented painter of portraits and murals, was now clad head to toe in a BURQA (face uncovered though) ... and that too on her own brother`s wedding when everyone else in her family was bedecked with jewels and silks.

No further comment.

They have done none of the abominable things you list. Re closing video shops, that is untrue as well. All they have done is to warn the stores not to distribute pornography otherwise they`ll shut them down. I think the video-stores have taken heed to that.
