urstruly and zeemax,
.... hearing you two talk about constitutions, elections and the rule of law is kind of silly when we know that you don`t believe in any of these things ...... we know you guys believe in one man, one vote, one time - so please stop trying to blow smoke up our elbows .........

ok so i went to the lal masjid site earlier in the day. a few minutes ago i decided to listen to some music, so i plugged my speakers back in, and suddenly, over the sound of the rain king, comes a talawat, followed by a sermon, which is probably still running! i tried shutting everything down but the moment i turn the volume up to check its still running! how ingenious! how annoying! anytime the speakers are on it starts! wtf! any idea how i can get rid of this?

hamidm2 :)
Yes, zee, those two (#61 and #62) seem to be the only real ways out of the dilemma, were aunty ji to become really convinced she has insights not available to the others.
Anyone else who has additional practical solutions can also help us out (given that on Chowk the same problem arises all the time on every board :(

hamidm (#60),
You’re probably right: Even as ullema avoid admitting this openly, they hold such ahadith as reliable. And such is the basis of their “shariah”.
I am merely using such ahadith to force the issue … to expose ullema’s nizam-e-mustafa. It is a bit like smoking rats out of their hole.
So zeemax MiaN, how long can you hold your breath? Urstruly is turning blue already … even as Naqsh is trying to come clean ...

How do you KNOW that aunty Shamim was involved in prostitution? How would you like it if someone accused you of hiring prostitutes (which is a very likely scenario) and then beating you up for it.
I think you are secretly into S&M and you get turned on by watching all those hordes of girls brandishing their laathis...they are probably so sexually frustrated that even you might turn them on. Hehehe...

Naqshbandi:
``#36 by Naqshbandi on April 2, 2007 9:47am PT
these lunatic women who are wahabist/salafist extremists represent the continuing salafisation of pakistan and need to be stopped.
no one has the right to take the law into their own hands.
maybe what pakistan needs is some liberalisation and some german style fkk clubs! ``
???? Dude, you are a living breathing example of an Islamist contradiction.

Preconceived notions are the bane here. I can see it in every post.
Most people here are more intolerant than the Taliban.

thanks arjun! kaalchakra i`m laughing inside :) they are absolutely not illiterate ignorants! if they were, we would just have ignored them.
if you could do the same to anyone who visited your page, what would you choose for people to hear? i`d include readings from rickshaws, buses, thelas and taxis, which is where the real poetic soul of the pakistani often finds expression. consider `buri nazar walay teray bacchay jiyain, baray ho kar tera khoon piyain` or `main bara ho kar corolla banoon ga` or (my personal favourite) `tarzan baghair chaddi`. and i would end with a line which sums up the exact role of God as the ordinary Pakistani sees it, `Allah ka karam hai, biryani garam hai.`
