So they try and put this agenda we are all opressed and the oppressors are Punjabis/ Hindus and if we unite we can overthrow them.

This begs one question in SIndh those kidnapping the Hindu girls and forcibly converting them are mostly Muhajir and with a sprinkling of Sindhis pray tell me are they doing this under the influence of Punjabis.

Aquarius I have never understood this Ganga Jamuna Tehjeeb. Most of My family settled in UP after partition and I could not understand who followed this tehzeeb.

After a lot of Research I think I got this answer (I may be wrong) the Kayasths of Wajid ALi Shah`s court and a few Muslim Loving and later Anglophile UP Khatris and Kashmiri Brahmans like Moti Lal Nehru.

Rest of UP no one has ever heard of this. This was a term coined under Mrs Gandhi to sell the flawed and pseudo UP muslim appeasing Pseudo Secularism.

About the Kayasths also it is interesting why the followed it. See the Kayasths were the most secure of Hindus you will never find a Kayasth Muslim. Basically they were so powerful in the sense that they controlled the lower and middle bureaucracy that even Auranzeb yes Aurangzeb did not dare take them on. It was this sense of security that led them to do what they pleased including aping the courtly manners of the Mughals and Nawabs though knowing the Kayasths as I do i think these fkrs were just mocking the ruling class of that time.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think the explanation is that the military doesn`t have to cater to popular opinion, especially in Punjab. Instead they do what is best for their own interests - impose power, some amount of law and order, get rich, and perpetuate their rule while making the so-called ``democrats`` look like corrupt, inefficient, and absolute fools. Mohajirs don`t support the military as much as the military lets them do what they are good at - education, private enterprise, making money, organizing relief and charity efforts. There is no real logic in killing the golden goose. Zia was just too much of a paindoo to realize his own mistake. While he and his family may have moved from Jullunder, he can be called a mohajir, but not a Mohajir. George Bush is a democrat but not a Democrat. :)

Very good question! Why don`t you ask this of the Punjabi elites who came up with the idea of ``agreed`` Vs ``non-agreed`` areas at the time of partition? If Mohajirs and their descendants had felt welcome by the ruling Punjabi elite, they would have loved to call their children ``Pisser-e-Zameen,`` - after all they were born in Pakistan. Unlike the US and other decent countries, Pakistan never acknowledged the 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th generation of Mohajirs as ``Sons of the Soil.`` They were always called ``HindustaaNRaN`` by the Punjabis and ``Panah Guzeer`` by the Pathans. Not that there weren`t significant numbers of Pathans among the Mohajirs - Rohillas, Bhopalis, Malihabadi, Shahjahanpuri, Badayuni, and others.

The quota system, imposed by the ruling elites discriminated against Mohajirs, whether they were born in India or in Pakistan. Application forms were notorious for questioning their place of birth, their father`s place of birth, and even their grandfather`s place of birth.

It might surprise you, but the ``stranded`` so-called ``Biharis`` in Bangladesh are overwhelmingly ``Pisser-e-Zameen`` or Pakistani by birth - according to your own definition.

As for killing all UP Muslims, you right-wing Hindutva BJP/RSS/VHP/BD/SP/SS/JS supporters seem to concentrate your efforts in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and southern MP. I don`t think you have the will, the balls, or the support among good Hindus in UP.
