Salim Chauhan April 11, 2007

``If we assume Urdu speakers to be around 8 percent of Pakistan, in a society with equal distribution of facilities and income, they should constitute 8 percent of the population on Chowk:
``
Why not look at number of posts? After all, the mose posts a Chowkie writes, the more free time s/he has, which in turn reflects leisure time and hence prosperity. Since Salim Chauhan has the highest number of posts, it stands to reason that he is very well of. Ergo, the Mohajir community is also well off.
I don`t really have a stake in this but I am in awe of your research and analytical skills. Do you have a consulting background perchance?

Re: # 93 Bulleya
``...So, I have always found it a bit odd how the most prosperous community in a country, which political and cultural power that far outweights its percentage of the population, can complain that it is not getting a piece of the pie...``
Maybe, the percentage of the pie is not quite as important as the size of the pie, especially if the latter has been shrinking. Maybe, the muhajirs are coming to the conclusion that they would have been better off in undivided India than migrating to Pakistan.

mohajirs remind me of the little boy who gets angry when not included in the team and threatens to take the ball with him if not allowed to play...funny thing is it`s not even his ball...;)

• Yarr Salim Bhai yeah aapnayy kyaa pandora aapa ka baksa kholl diya bhai.
• I give you props for ur eloquence but baray bhai your truth is selective and borders on rhetoric.
• I am not bragging but I was intimately involved with APMSO so I do know a thing or two about the issues that the community faces.
• Bulleya has raised some issues, which I would have discarded as rhetoric from the “enemy” but I am not 16 anymore and I truly believe that “OUR OWN” has as much if not more to do with our suffering than lets say Mukhtaran Mai or her brother.
• What is that we are trying to do here? Do we only care about the well-being of Urdu Speaking? If Yes, then how are we any different from the Taliban that we all so despise so much. Isnt this extremism as well? Shouldn’t we be championing the rights of all oppressed people regardless of their affinity with “kheer” or “Feerni”.
• Mere insinuation to support a military thug under any circumstances is a slippery slope that hurts our credibility as fair people and paints us as opportunists. Yaad rakhyayy gaa hazratt yeah faujii apnayy baapp kayy nahii hottayy. Yeah joo aaj FATA mein or balochistan mein kar rahayy hein, kall mayaryy orr aapkayy saath karchukay hein orr agar aaj hamnayy mazloom ki dad-rasii sirf iss wajahh say nahii kii kyonkayy uski darhi barhi hoii thii yeah uska talafuz hamein nahii bhaa raha thaa too yaadd rakhyayy mayrayy bhaii , kall jabb yeahh apnii jawan-mardii kayy sabot Karachi or Hyderabad ki galiyon mein dayrahayy hongayy too hamara bhii koii pursan-e-haall nahii hogga.
• Democracy suits us in Karachi, Urdu speaking will always rule over Karachi and Hyderabad, u gave up on democracy too quickly. I tend to be a believer in 2nd chances. I can’t prove it in a court of law but I have a feeling that the democratic forces will be much better for us than Army establishment which truly despises us.
• I agree in principal that OVERALL muslim community would have been better off if we hadn’t created a country for Muslims where majority of the muslims that we sold this dream of Pakistan were not allowed to live in. I have no doubt that the zameendars and the jageerdars realized that as soon as the brits left congress would do major land reforms which obviously wouldn’t be good for individuals so they abused the Muslim card to perfection. When people list how individuals in Pakistan have progressed and would have never acquired this success I don’t whether to cry or to laugh. Its like saying look how prosperous Shahrukh Khan is, ALL Muslims must be doing well in India.
• You do give too much credit to Banyas. I am not saying that ALL of them hate us, but they do have a valid reason to despise us. I am not trying to be funny but we are talking about major physical ugliness, depravity of bihari kababs and immense low-self esteem and these things stay with you, aqalmand ko ishara kafi. Tremendous injustice has been done to twice as many Muslims that we left behind in Hinjoostan, we first asked them to make enemies out of their neighbors and then left them high n dry.
• Whats done is done however. Where do we go from here? My humble submission is that the answer is not in exclusivity but in inclusiveness. Let’s support the forces that want to rid us with the status quo, because status quo doesn’t discriminate when raping. It might be someone else right now but rest assure that our turn is on its way unless we pay heed to faiz:
jab arz-e-khuda ke kaabe se,
sab butt uthwaye jayenge
hum ahl-e-safa mardood-e-haram,
masnad pe bithaaye jayenge
sab taj uchhale jayenge,
sab takhat giray jayenge
hum dekhainge
lazim hai ke hum bhi dekhainge
hum dekhainge
bas naam rahe ga Allah ka
jo gayab bhi hai hazir bhi
jo manzar bhi hai nazir bhi
uthe ga anal haq ka na `ra
jo main bhi hoon aur tum bhi ho
aur raaj kare gi khalq-e-khuda
jo main bhi hoon aur tum bhi ho

I can`t believe what I am reading. I had only peripherally heard about this, but now that you Muhajirs are coming out of the closet openly, I feel that Nehru/Patel did the absolute right thing by not caving in to Jinnah`s blackmail. By agreeing to Partition, despite the horrific loss of life then, today India has avoided the path to its own Talibanization. The 9% GDP growth rate would not have been possible if the country was constantly debating secularism vs. separate electorates.
Good luck to you folks, but now it is your problem!

Here is a picture of the man who is at the root of both the current mohajir problem in Pakistan and the current Kashmir problem....
Not to mention the blood of millions who were killed thanks to him and HIS baby - the partition!
I hope the creep burns in hell!! In fact, I am sure he does!
Don`t be fooled by his looks - this guy may look like a pig but his real name was Mohamed Ali Jinnah!

Salim firstly as a pakistani i have to say that noone in pakland is happy ...we arent happy because we are poor ....urdu speakers have certainly got a raw deal but have the others communities had it better? even the national language is urdu for christs sake. I condemn the ethnic chauvanism in your article its hurtful and needless. All your points are true for every single person in pakistan, dont think the punjabi villagers are having a ball just because most PM `s are punjabi thats false.
I am urdu speaking and i thank God for the MQM even though they have done some shitty things, their ideals of social justice equality and anti extremism are great. Thats why they are a legitiamte party. I also like the way they have becaome ``muttahaida` not muhajir.
Re India and to all the fools telling us pakistan was such a bad idea maybe you should look up muslim literacy and muslim progress in todays Indian boom...while you are at it look up gurat kashmir ayaodhya RSS and get your heads out your fucking ass holes. Oh and explain to me the idea of worshipping aryans and hating dravidians when you are blacker than most africans? Self loathing mo fuckers why should we give a $hit about your opinions?
Dont get me wrong, i am not anti India - i just hate the indian bastards on chowk who have responded with pics of pigs. I hope that every Indian and Pakistani can have a better future and i hope for tolerance for ourselves and each other.

Dear whiner,
The problem with Pakistanis in general and with Pakistani apologists like you in particular is that you lack the guts to face reality!
You admit that what the Salim - with his own (admittedly biased) viewpoint has written is factually correct! Then you say - ``but hush up - or my feelings as a Pakistani will be hurt!``
Go jump into a lake, Pakistani smartypant!
Dear friend, you need to break some eggs to make the omlette! (You are not a vegetarian, by any chance?!) If one does not hold your idiotic moronic mindset to ridicule - you will NEVER get it. (You will probably not get it even with the ridicule, but at least others can have some fun!)
And what is wrong with a pig?! Mohamed Ali Jinnah LOVED them....
He LOVED them...as in ``munch, munch, gulp!``

Itney dinon ke baad yaad kiya!
Aur itney kum lafaz! Allah!
Ui Allah! Main sadke jaaon! Finally, SOMEBODY at chowk who actually practices economy of words!
Koi kursee lao ji! Chai paani ka bandobust karo! (But don`t expect the web-site to pay!)

thank you , i now see the wisdom in your pig picture, if you can tell me why you worship the white man we can both win. Either break the eggs on that veggie free thinker or piss off.
