Your problem is the fact that you can not justify the concept of Dual Nationality. You can not leave U.S. because U.S. is feeding you while you wish to return to Pakistan all the time because

Samar Bibi I told you and I have said in my posts as well that...

The beauty of Nerhu/Patel Inidan model is that they brought everybody under the Indian Nationality umbrella while letting the people retain their distincitive cultures/languages etc...I know there was this huge rift between north/south on the matter of National Language in India but democratic processes that empower people automatically provides solutions to such problems...

This they achieved by

(1) Letting people evlove democratically by eleiminating Feudalism that is the biggest hurdle to any democratic process. All the European countries implemented democratic concepts only after having eliminated Feudalism.

(2) By assigning regions to linguistic ethnicities and then devolving and decentralizing political power, hence giving them the control of resource of their specific regions.

(3) By taking communalism out of politics.

The third point is out of context for the Pakistani Politics because Pakistan is religiously homogenous but as far as the first two points are concerned...

Nobody ever tried even to implement them. The reasons I have given before. ML was a Feudal enterprise: It couldn`t have abolished Feudalism by definition. Urdu-Speaking ruling elite had no region hence decentralization and devolution of power would have taken political out of their hands.

This is the long and short of it...the rest are only consequences of this hegemonous urdu-speaking reign...

Communalism in Pakistan has now been replaced by sectarianism...thanks to AhmedMadni`s and Zeena`s Saudi Arabian cousins...who have poured enormous amounts of money in Pakistan to promote jihadi-pan-Islamism...supported by the U.S. and now by the urdu-speakers in the hope that perhaps this would now be the new indigenous population repression tool...

Hence the demands for decentralization and its consistent and total refusal from the urdu-speaking tyrants. Read AhmedMAdni`s posts in which he says that MQM is there to stay and would kick out Sindhis and that its urdu-speaking that have brought Karachi in 21st century...

I kid you not Sir...sooner than expected this tyrant minority would be taken to task...Zeena is lucky that he has U.S. nationality and Altaf Hussain is lucky that he has British Asylum...but not every MQM thug would be able to escape the nationalist wrath...

urdu-speaking-tyrant-minority and their representative MQM must be ashamed of what it has done to indigenous populations hand in hand with Army and be prepared for the consequences.

I agree with you tahmed Saheb. But the concept `RACE` should be clarified here because whole premise on which the article is based relates to it as the writer says `The reality is RACE`.

The traditional and academic meaning may be like Aryan, Mongoloids etc. Then this term is used for say, Punjabis, Tibetans, Berbers etc. Then we can take it as the Nationality also like Indian, Pakistanis or Russians and even Americans.

What Ahmad Hayat appears to mean by race is nationality. If not the article has no meaning. If we take that RACE is something which is determined by heredity and genetics then it is clear that it can not remain the same all the time. Persians, Afghans were Aryans 2000 years before and so were (some) Indians. Long long ago Chinese were all Mongols but now they are Mandarins and many others.

In my opinion, race, at least as the article suggests, is something the people identify with and think they are as such. If we go by the traditional meaning of race and the connotations attached to it then I am afraid, whole discussion will be mixed up. So,`race` is something the people perceive themselves to be and also what the others think of them. This sense of belonging must be constantly cultivated if a nation is to remain united. This process is going on in all the big and diverse countries like India, Russia, China and even US and it should have been the case with Pak too. I have strong doubts about the rosy picture the author painted about India but India has taken many correct/incorrect steps trying to develop Indian identity throughout the country and has continued to review them periodically. In India Kashmiris and some North-Eastern ethnic groups don`t identify with India due to some wrong steps and India is trying hard to make amends. Still, a wrong step and all the struggle and hard work of our founding fathers may go in vain. Unity in diversity is a concept which inculcates the feeling that `The reality is RACE` and not the races. Here RACE is national identity and race is everything other than that like Tamil, Muslims, Dalits etc.
