For the pleasure of ppl like Zeemax:
(http://www.fas.org/irp/world/pakistan/isi/) same source as Zeemax gave abt MQM.
The follwing report sums up how the Army and ISI screwed-up the state of Pakistan. The lesson, if anybody in Pakistan want to learn is: Leave the job of running the country to the elected reps who are answereable to the people NOT to the USA who used ur country as a ’’frontline state’’ against Soviet aggression once is now using as the ’’frontline state’’ against Terrorism. How ironic!!!
Pakistan or Condomistan! [sorry if I sounded Arjunesque. truth hurts :-( ]
Quote:
The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan made Pakistan a country of paramount geostrategic importance. In a matter of days, the United States declared Pakistan a ’’frontline state’’ against Soviet aggression and offered to reopen aid and military assistance deliveries. Pakistan’s top national security agency, the Army’s Directorate for Inter-Services Intelligence, monitored the activities of and provided advice and support to the mujahidin, and commandos from the Army’s Special Services Group helped guide the operations inside Afghanistan. The ISI trained about 83,000 Afghan Mujahideen between 1983 to 1997 and dispatched them to Afghanistan. Pakistan paid a price for its activities, as Afghan and Soviet forces conducted raids against mujahidin bases inside Pakistan.
The ISI continued to actively participate in Afghan Civil War, supporting the Taliban in their fight against the Rabbani government. Backing of the Taliban would officially end after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001; however, there are suspicions that sympathetic elements of the ISI continue to aid Taliban fighters.

Hamidm2, to allay your concerns about Islamabad, unless you’re just regurgitating malicious propaganda as is the author, let me tell you I was in Islamabad late last month on a trip, and staying at the Holiday Inn hotel which is in G-6 (same sector as the Hafsa) and right next to the Melody Market which these girls/boys have been said to have ravaged. I didn’t see any music shops closed down, nor any black burqas nor madrassa boys with dandas roaming around at any time either in the market or intersections as is being alleged. All was business as usual.
Further, all the roads in Islamabad are being rebuilt and lots of infrastructure developments are being carried out. My hosts even invited me to a gourmet Euoropean restaurant (open only for dinner) in an unmarked house, where an impressive variety of French wines are on the menu and no prices given on any of the items. The principle is if you have to look at the price, you can’t afford it.
So don’t worry, Hafsa girls are not out to destroy Islamabad, or anything else for that matter. Aunty Shamims’ maybe, but then I can only offer my sympathies to your aunt.

zeemax: It doesnt matter who someone is addressing. If someone keeps howling ’’aflatoon, patloon, pacificmoon’’ year after year, than that is a sign of he has a mental problem, like i said.

Thanks. The following extract deserves to be reproduced and let’s see how MQM Wallas challenge it:
In the mid-1990s, the MQM-A was heavily involved in the widespread political violence that wracked Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, particularly Karachi, the port city that is the country’s commercial capital. MQM-A militants fought government forces, breakaway MQM factions, and militants from other ethnic-based movements. In the mid-1990s, the U.S. State Department, Amnesty International, and others accused the MQM-A and a rival faction of summary killings, torture, and other abuses (see, e.g., AI 1 Feb 1996; U.S. DOS Feb 1996). The MQM-A routinely denied involvement in violence.

MQM being among the ToP AUGUST TERRORIST Organizations is a forgone conclusion..
Undeniable.....
[ Fas, SATP, HRW, HCRP, and even USA’s State Department have enough of a dossier on it ]
the most worrying issue is , they have nearly completely demolished a PILLAR of STATE
Namely the Judiciary.......in cohort with the Dictator.
.....Now the CJ of a Country has to seek permission from a Party Chief to visit a part of his own country.....
and can be ILLEGALLY Detained [ at the Airport ] .....and deported back....!!
...the mayhem and carnage , that followed is now again routinely being denied as usual
....the Seige of AAJ TV , for more then 7 hrs, by the Armed Goons is recorded and was shown live, Talat Hussain of AAJ TV, rang a number of influentials, including Top notches from MQM itself, and the Incharge of Rangers, [ all his communication were shown live ]....who promised to redress the situation within half hour, .....Yet when the Law enforcing agencied did Arrived, the GOONS Surrounding AAJ TV, retreated , under the very protection of these Law enforcing agencies, it too was shown Live......
The MQM Goons , with the most sophisticated ammunition Still in Hand, passing right By the Law enforcing Agencies, One or two, even Fired in the Air, ....and yet the Law enforcing Agencies, were silent spectators..... they did nothing.
All of this is now available on the Net.....
Just search youtube , and its all there NOW..
Of course MQM , is still in the denial mode.
.... another interesting development is that the PA to the Coas/President the PM of this god forsaken so called Nation, lauded the role of Police and Rangers on the 12 May.
.... and we all know How the Dictator , boasted his show of stength , at the Pindi Jalsa....!!
.... some one earlier had rightly said.
47 a Dream , 2007 a Nightmare....
I add to it, 85-86 a Watershed, .... and 2015....... Is a Question mark....??

zeemax,
..... aap kay mun mein ghee shakar but as usual you are spreading lies and propaganda ........... last year i payed 350 rupees for a pint of kingfisher - which is almost $7 (and that from a bootlegger who calls me bhai jan) ......... murre brewery’s london lager was not to be found .......... according to pintprice.com lager in Pakistan is £4.03 (almost $8)
....... and if, god forbid, the mullahs move into army house the first thing they will do is shut down murree brewery next door and then banish all christians to najran and hejaz ...........

“muslims still haven’t figured out ….. the joys of furniture ...........”
Buddy you are out a luck. Seventh century Arabia was devoid of wood – so forget furniture, it is not even in the imagination of its proponents. Even in junnah the only thing that the Quran repeatedly mentions is that momineen will be sitting on “cushions” and celebrating their good fortune as they hear the laments and cries of their brethren on the other side as they get roasted by hell fires.
So a pre req for achieving heaven is strong ankles bejeweled of corns earned through consistent abuse of resting your butt on them.
