#41 Masadi sahib

An interesting perspective. I await your answers to (1) and (2) also.

#42 Okhla99

Your response here - attacking mian Masadi personally, violates all known norms of decent human behavior and all the real (or mostly imagined) chowk guidelines. Masadi has a viewpoint. He seriously believes in it. He has every right to express it in this open forum. You need to counter his points and not ridicule him - the latter only indicates you lack the ability to counter him - pure and simple.

No, I am trying to break through the insurmountable institutionalized barriers to the truth that have been created in order to keep us enslaved. Not recognizing them as such would be ``foolish`` and thereby would be playing into the hands of those elite that often label truth tellers as ``loony`` and that is the end of them gaining any headway. One person at a time, and events will support the development of a critical mass....we hope

Masadi writes <<< Fighting them like the American elite purport to do (even as they strengthen them) will be a failed policy, making people conscious of the American elite’s façade would be the right path to follow. >>>

Utterly and completely respected Masadi Sahib,

You have been thrown out of the US University and deported to Pakistan. The Pakistani college you managed to enter, discovered your true colours and booted you out at the earliest. Chowk editors reject your ``articles``. Most Chowkies have recognised your true worth-- a few notches below zilch.

And yet you continue to spew your ``elite versus peons/slaves`` theories and blindly criticize the US endlessly. You will be taken seriously only in Lululand. Anyplace else you will be ``taken`` for sure, but not seriously.

Why don`t you do some thing constructive for a change???

See a shrink if the reality is still not visible to you. Stop mad ravings and rantings.

Wishing you well Masadi....

bjk writes <<< 3) Why do you suggest that the US has chosen a ``caricatured`` version of Islam to project when in reality, GWB has always referred to Islam as the religion of peace?! >>>

GWBs rhetoric (which has varied) does not determine the consciousness of either the American or Muslim folk, what occurs as ``fact`` and what is presented as such by the media plays a much greater role. When one identifiable group is singled out for confrontation by a super power, not only does it give that group prominence and status, it mainstreams it among the locals

``...all I can say is ``One person at a time``...``

By making your enemy ``too big to fight`` you are in essence justifying your inertia. A typical intellectual malaise seen all over the world. Look Asadi, you are back in Pakistan and so is YLH. Now do more than just teach ....

Colonel <<< So people, when you are condemning the General, do not loose sight of the sacrifices and patriotism of these heros, >>>

The harm caused to the nation by the military elite, and the resulting deprivation and death due to blindly pursuing the needs of externals and not the nation, far exceed any ``sacrifice`` at Siachen whose fodder are the poor folk and not the elite that run this ignoble institution. This institution squanders more wealth needlessly through serving external interests in policy, useless conflict and hardware purchase than any other institution in Pakistan. What is a fight over useless territory worth when over 90% of the nation suffers from extreme poverty that puts them at risk of early death? Finally, it is not ``the general`` but this institution that produces ``leaders`` that are share in the higher immorality of the US elite. People of consciousness reject both the Mullahs and the Army Generals as enemies of the people

#Masadi mian

Taking out all the rhetoric (``dumb``, ``whore``, etc.)

(1) If the Mushy were to go, who would be the best person to run Pakistan? Is there anyone at all who would even has the ability to?

(2) Is it possible for anybody to rule Pakistan without Washington`s consent - as a practical matter?

(3) Why do you suggest that the US has chosen a ``caricatured`` version of Islam to project when in reality, GWB has always referred to Islam as the religion of peace?!

OK, so how would you do it? I am not asking you to answer. But if you have clear thoughts on this and do not mind sharing then I am willing to listen.

The worst effected by this messup, created by the General, are the numerous hard working, honest and patriotic personnel in uniform. They have been pushed, by default, on the side of the plots and money hungry few dozen scavengers. Be assured that these personnel, numbering hunderds of thousands and belonging to poor and middle class families, have no lust of power, greed of money or plots. These sepoys, havildars, captains & majors etc are standing guard in siachen in -50 degree C and will perform and obey the lawful commands of their superiors. In return, they get and expect nothing more than honourable living for themselves and their children.

So people, when you are condemning the General, do not loose sight of the sacrifices and patriotism of these heros, who are obeying the lawful commands of their superiors even to the peril of their lives and sentiments. Isnt this what people are striving for in the land of pure, `the rule of law`.

GT writes <<< ``Their entire being and theology is based on their desire to monopolize power for their own benefit. In this endeavour they are being helped by the policy of the west``. >>>

They are used and abused; but are dumb enough to believe that any benefit will come to them of this ``cat and mouse`` relationship which has given them prominence. They are self deceived which is no “strength”. Out of the 1001 shades of Islam in our times the American elite have chosen a minority brand precisely because they represent the stereotyped caricature of Islam, according to the crusaders. They have chosen it to provide evidence to their own people that they face a barbaric enemy and they have chosen this confrontation so that these fringe groups become mainstream in Muslim lands because of the “external enemy” they confront, enhancing solidarity among the ``home`` group.

So they are used as whores to achieve a double motive, i) looting the American people and enriching the corporations through a “war on terror” with no end ii) mainstreaming fringe groups that will ensure more suffering for the Muslim people of the “third world”

Many groups might want to monopolize power but recognize it as a mere dream given their resources, only the few dumb ones play out roles predetermined for them while harming humanity and breaking every rule in the book they purport to believe in. They are fools and the people of Pakistan are the victims of their ignoble gullible nature. Fighting them like the American elite purport to do (even as they strengthen them) will be a failed policy, making people conscious of the American elite’s façade would be the right path to follow.

Re: # 29 by masadi:

``Their entire being and theology is based on the Western caricature of Islam .... ``

You are trivializing the enemy. I would say: ``Their entire being and theology is based on their desire to monopolize power for their own benefit. In this endeavour they are being helped by the policy of the west``.

``... they are the virus with which fascists of all sides infect democracy and people power ... they are the enemies of democracy, they are those that divide humanity ...``

AGREED! Now how do you fight them. Not solely by propping up the CJ is my point. Liberalism, unfortunately in our parts of the world, is confined to the elites. Who will bring these ideas to the poor masses? Since the poor have nothing but their faith in God, liberal values have to be brought to the masses by people who understand their conditions and their faith in God. We often neglect the history of Latin America, but we have a lot to learn from their history. Juarez, the native American Mexican liberal who fought and won the War of Reform against the conservatives was a very religious man. He fought against, amongst other things, a corrupt and degenerate Mexican church.

Jamesmaxwell writes <<< Now that the people of Pakistan (including the people of Punjab) have shown that they are fed up of being treated like dumb cattle by the generals of Pakistan Army, the judges have a very clear choice: the people or the generals. >>>

Let me rephrase the conclusion of this CIA wannabe operative, fool, Jamesmaxwell who comes up with absurdities ever so often, in terms that are more factual:

<<< Now that the people of Pakistan (including the people of Punjab) have been duped and treated once again as dumb cattle by the generals of Pakistan Army whose psyche is in equilibrium only when they serve their American masters, the judges have a very clear choice, act out their predetermined rolle as whores of the Pakistan Army- which is empirically demonstrated in Pakistan`s history, and Choose among the general that is falling out of favor with the Americans or the generals whose mouth is watering for power as they watch a drama of their own creation unfold: Which one of them enslaves Pakistan deeper to the Americans and helps them use it as a whore in its other regional points of interest will prevail and the judges will concur >>>

GT writes <<< It seems that the fundoos understand peoples` power better than the liberals. They do not bow down before the military or the judiciary. >>>

The ``fundoos`` don`t even understand their own being, they are worked up and seldom determine anything. Their entire being and theology is based on the Western caricature of Islam to the dot which is alien to its only authorirtative text. They are the virus with which fascists of all sides infect democracy and people power in ``third world`` nations. Why has the image of them changed from what was projected during the Zia era to what is projected now: external circumstance, their coverage, their image, their rhetoric is determined, they are dependant variables, that never determine anything but cause ``badboo`` (to use HP`s term) everywhere because the technology of deodrant use has not dawned on them. They are the enemies of Islam, they are the enemies of democracy, they are those that divide humanity who are the caricature of Islam, according to the crusaders brought to life and given prominence only when they can be used as whores to damage humanity....
