For a long time I believed that most Pakistani Punjabis were compassionate people who really abhorred the misdeeds of their soldiers in East Pakistan, Karachi, Baluchistan, and elsewhere in Pakistan. For a long time I believed that Pakistani Punjabis were not bigoted, racist (as if they had any reason to be!), and wanted genuine egalitarian environment for all Pakistanis. Coming on Chowk and learning the convictions of people like Chacha Char Sau Bees, Ali, Atif, Zeemax, Charlie, Shoebig, Ally, Sobia, and other notorious mahaPunjus, I have been utterly disappointed - at the expense of my nationalism and even faith in the legitimacy of Muslim unity.

MQM secular? Sounds like you finally succumbed to the Zeemax’s pressure. There is nothing secular in MQM. Remember its core followers (the rednecks) are the former followers of Shah Ahemd Noornai “the Nabi ka Jhanda, pir sahib ki fateha and sooji ka halwa” fame, JUP mullah guy.

Has it occurred to you why altaf is called Pir sahib? For the simple reason that his followers have to have a pir sahib ka mazar for fatha purhanay kay liay, sooji ka halwa and whatever comes with that.

Thank you for this relief - finally a post with some humor and a hope for salvation. Actually, there was never a need for an MQM. If the perpetual persecution of Mohajirs during the reigns of ZAB, Zina Owl Hack, Bezamir I, Besharif I, Bezamir II, Besharif II had been contained, Altag Bhai would probably be controlling the paan and niswar franchise in Karachi. Mohajirs never organized themselves under one party until the late 80s and that was forced upon them as a means of survival.
I agree with you that secularism is the future for Pakistan and the bigger enema is the mutilated version of Islam blowing in from Soodi Arabia.

Your duplicity in promoting Paki Punju hegemony and simultaneously supporting right-wing fundo Jihadi Wahabi mutilation of ``Islam,`` is driving me to question the state of both our minds - yours for this moronic dichotomy and mine for continuing to engage your utter nonsense.

If your Pushtoons (probably the PPI type) go ahead with their strike to shut down Karachi, then maybe we Mohajirs should consider driving our own cars, guarding our own homes, shops, and banks, and making niswar illegal and punishable with a one-way ticket to Homoland. :) While we are at it, we should start cleaning our own bathrooms and rob you Paki Punjus of employment in Karachi. :)

I don`t lay claim to Jinnah. He belonged to Pakistan, not any single community. The argument I was making was that was there any mutarwa who contributed to Pakistan? That is the question.

I don`t believe the claim of any Jinnah`s grandsons. Many people of Kharadar claim that. Even neighbors, so forget it.

Otherwise the political consequences for Pakistan will be disastrous.

Looks like you have a claim on Mr Jinnah . Did you know that two of Mr Jinnah`s grandsons were shot dead in a fake police encounter in Kharadar in 1994 on the orders of your hero Mr naseerulla babur? Just because they were middle-class Karachiites with no political connections?

Jinnah was no Upiite low-class. He was a Bombay Ismaili Khoja but a great Muslim. He didn`t even know Urdu. How do you mutarwas lay claim to Jinnah?
