It did not have to attract them. IOt was our job to kick them out.
Come Sanatani, we were never good in this ``Kicking`` stuff....:)))
My point is the TNT was supposed to provide a seperate nation for Muslims from India....and less than 10% took the bait.........
Speaks volumes on this novel concept unleashed on the sbb-continent........

Pakistan should not have come into being - MAJ and Nehru did the ``who will chicken first`` grand stand. No one did.
Now that it is there, and taking MAJ`s arguments to their logical conclusions, Pakistan should be there as it stands for it negates the very essence of what Zeemini and others say about the great Islamic Ummah!. In fact pakistan should become a part of the Kingdom of Saudi, and inetgrate with the arabs fully and toally. Immersing itself into the very ethos, pathos and bathos that is arabia.

#91 according to the resident UK chowkie (ally - on UP), the guy who tried to bomb tourist London were Pakistanis! I am sure Mantolives would have been happier if they were said to be from the greater Ummah as I mentioned below!

What it needs is another Messiah with the power to raise the dead.
We need to be our own messiahs... stop waiting and start living!!!

if its not been confirmed... you can say with certainty it was al-queda or one of their groups that did this... the IRA have gone away, there is no other major terrorist threat, it really can only be these ppl as they are the reason UK is on high terror alert constantly now...

#94 ally, stop preaching against Islam!
Do you want to be apostated by Echoboom, Zeemini and Masadi tub-thumpers all?
No wait a minute, you are already one in their eyes, unless zeemini is a shirt-lifter as well
now that would be irony or irony itself

Re: # 97 and yet most of the guys caught up and sent to gitmo are of this extract. Similarly the ones trying to kill mush-e-ruff and the ones who go to kill themselves in Kashmir.
DM some contradiction here...or may be you are talking about your generation of left-leaning, Marx as takkiya types nd not the new generation!

That may be changing... now Mullah has lots of money, fire power, muscle power and even some political power... In the middle of crumbling state institutions and what not - mullahs rhetoric is attracting more and more of the unwashed masses... with saudi money coming in - mullah is setting himself up as an alternative....
mullah`s future in pakiland is bright indeed.

YLH is master of absolute confusion... We affectionately call him a freak... But he is learning, very slowly for a guy who 30 something... but it`s a process... he has to un-learn a few things and then learn the right things...
We are all here to teach him lessons...

In the Theatre of Absurd, that`s yet another absurdity... The whole thing started from theory that moslems being of pure bedouin faith cannot live with hinuds of pagan faith... there was even vote of sorts to create pakiland where muslims from various northern states voted for it...
But then when the cruch came, nobody moved.... moslems had to be kicked out to go into pure land... un-f***ing-believable.... :)

That Sir is exactly the point I am making........wasn`t TNT meant for the entire Muslim populance of India......why is it only a miniscule minority of Muslims opted for it.........and going by your statement most in Punjab did not have that option but were simply forced out of their homes........
So was this ``concept`` relevant and has it attained its objectives......??

chennai:
``Pakistan died in 1948 itself because it could only ``attract`` 5.5 million Muslims out of a total population of 70 million Muslims from India......... ``
In all fairness, the majority of those 5.5 million were from Punjab and, like their Hindu-Sikh brothers from the other side, did not have a choice in the matter.
zeemax:
Thanks. tahmed32 has a point to the extent that ordinary Punjabis do not have too much respect for the Mullah; from my experience they can use the choicest Punjabi expressions and have the crudest jokes about the Mullahs.

bulleya#70:
I broadly agree with you. In fact, some of those tombs that are visited and prayers offered, like that of Waris Shah, do not belong even to sufi saints. But from the general reading of the situation, it seems that the outside influence, especially of the Wahabi type, is now having a greater influence than before. And it is not restricted to Pakistan; even in India now, we are seeing increasing use of fatwas and campaigns against offering prayers at the tombs of dead relatives, since they could smack of worship.
And among Hindus, too, there seems to be a newfound fervour for religiousity. The number of Jagratas (nightly bhajans and worship of Vaishno Devi) has gone up exponentially not only in India but even in North America.

[...There was no ``attracting``... you guys kicked them out...]
That`s even worse... we had to kick moslems to go to the land that was created for them... No wonder pakiland died pre-maturely...
