Female foeticide has nothing to do with Hinduism. Muslims in TN have also been found to have indulged in this practice. This has more to do with economic conditions than religious tradition.

More suicide bombings done by hindus in sri lanka than by muslims around the world (let alone Pakistan) - and you wont hear a peep about that from any Indian.

Yet, the LTTE somehow does not invoke religion everytime a suicide bombing takes place, nor do they claim to be fighting for a Hindu homeland in Sri Lanka, they claim they're fighting for Tamils, and you might not know it, but there are Muslims and Christians among Tamils too.

You are free to insult my community and everyone knows you're not above it. There is nothing illegal about it and nothing I can do about it. But at least let us argue logically and factually, and not just for the sake of it.

So what's wrong with bathing gods in milk or cows roaming streets. Does it mortally harm anyone?

Could that be because the US govt knows that an elected Indian minister maybe guilty of complicity in riots but not every Indian needs to be singled out? OTOH, what does one make of the special attention that every Paki gets in the US? Does that make every Paki a potential terrorist?

Same for suicide bombings. It does mean that Indian society is not exactly issue-free. Indeed, it seems to me in many ways your problems are much bigger than ours.

I have never seen you or any Indian (other than Stuka) use the above arguments when some Indian starts acting as if Islam is the evil religion? Even Dost Mittar, a fine, respectable gentleman, somehow sincerely feels that Islam is the reason for suicide bombings.

Hope you see where I am coming from on this. And no - I have better things to write about on chowk than start trying to ridicule Hinduism.

#139 The prophet was a messenger, that is all. While no doubt many muslims try to make him a de facto god, the fact is that the Quran is very clear on this.

I admire Gandhi's concept of non-violence too - even though I am aware of the fact that he had strange sleeping habits.

It is concepts that are important. Nor personalities. The latter are important only to lesser minds than you or me (or masadi). :-)

#140 Folio: If the best you can do to defend Modi is to point to the fact that the muslim population growth rate in India has not been affected, then clearly you need to think a bit more.

Think a bit more, then come back and tell me that you now understand why his was denied a visa to the US. And then explain to me why he still continues as an elected official in India, rather than behind bars.
