Is a 9 year old ready for sex, definatelly no. Nor is a 12 year old. I am shocked that in Holland the age of consent is 12.
Teens look for sex and romance in their own age group not with buddhas.
In India, children were married at a young age,and still are at some places, but the girl was only send to her husbands place when she was about 16.

So, Asif, leavg aside all the questions re. the appropriateness of sex with those below the age-of-consent (whatever that be), will you let us know how are able to argue that a 9-year-old has crossed puberty? (Remember, the onset of puberty has NOT increased through the ages. If anything, it's lower now than in the past-- and this is not mere specualtion)
This is not merely academic. Your defense of the Prophet's actions with Ayesha rest on the contention that she had gone through puberty (i.e., was (post)pubescent) by age 9. In any event, mestruation begins abuot 4 years later.
Or did I misread you?

Pardesi ji
Please read the news given below. I think one fine day they will keep on singing praises of Saheb-e-kammaal Guru Gobind Singh ji but in reality throw him out of Sikhi fold because he used to perform Havan in Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara. These people will ultimately have only illiterate sewadaars as their followers and rest of the public will slowly start moving away.

Akal Takht to discuss Sidhu act
23 Jul 2007, 0255 hrs IST,I P Singh,TNN
SULTANPUR LODHI: Trouble appears to be in store for Navjot Singh Sidhu as the Akal Takht has decided to convene a meeting of its high priests to discuss allegations of BJP MP violating the Sikh maryada.
Akal Takht Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti said a meeting of the five high priests would be convened soon. "Eventhough he is an MP of a non-Sikh party, he belongs to a Sikh family and also projects himself as one. He should conduct himself more responsibly, especially when he represents an area which holds a significance for Sikhs. People of the land of Gurus have brought him to power twice and he should keep faith in the Guru Granth Sahib," he said.
Sidhu is accused of performing a havan, a Hindu ritual, at Baba Lal Dyal Mandir in Amritsar on July 17. The Dal Khalsa submitted a formal complaint to the Jathedar on July 21.
In February, when Sidhu contested the LS election, he was accused of violating the Sikh religious code with a similar act.

Puberty does not mean that a girl is fit to get married.
Marriage is much more than pro-creation. It is complete BS if any religion sanctions such a marriage at such an immature age. And the foolish followers of the faith keep following it.
on a side note
``that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old.''
How did the people come to know that the marriage has consumated?
There is a Saudi cultural tradition where the `Stained Bed Sheet' is hung on the door to let the public know. This custom is followed to this date among the traditional Saudis.

This is a little murky area but do we have enough evidence to prove that the prophet actually consummated the marriage before she attained maturity?
If the marriage was not consummated when she was 9, then I really don't see any big deal about it. In our part of the world under age marriages are quiet common. Let me limit the our part of the world to just India where this ritual is so common that even the life enforcement ignores it.
In Rajhasthan this is just way of life.
Now the question is whether the under age marriages a common feature of the Arab society at that time. Whatever I have read suggests to me that under age marriage was not common in that era.
We have instances where the poor parents killed their new born daughters occasionally but that still happens regularly in India. There is plenty of evidence to suggest that Indians are involved in this practice. What a shame!

Yup. No hope for you. Read post 4, 5 and 6. You, and your entire family have been hoodwinked by a pedophile and a megalomaniac.

Of course not. Muslims are a rare breed. He must have proposed marriage with her to her parents at six years of age to play tic-tac-toe?

The usual Islamic apologist arguments. Here's the SMALL PROBLEM. In India, these marriages are BETWEEN underage kids. No 52 year guy with grey pubic hair is marrying any child there.
Get it? Of course you do. But you have to repeat the same bankrupt excuses ad nauseum.

Sounds like you are sitting on this thread to hawk your story but is there any evidence that "In India, these marriages are BETWEEN underage kids." is true.
Google "underage marriages in India" there are about 447,000 hits. Take your time and read them to find out how many were between the kids and how many were with adults.
Are you also denying that Indians are killings their daughters with impunity.
You are unique person who matches mohar in stupidity.

Krishna,
You're trying to slot me as a Muslim. I can live without such affiliations. Pl keep the discussion dignified or choose some other guy for ur lowly language.
The valve of reason is sealed for all Muslims. They are not allowed to question any of their precepts.
As for Krishna, He's a whoremaster since childhood. I am talking abt historical Krishna, not the mythological.

[I've limited my comment to the 'fact' of Muhammed's marriage with Aisha. I was not at all commenting on the propriety of His actions nor I was looking at it from the moral angle.
Mores change from time to time.]
Social customs change. But what is good or bad remains the same. Let me reapeat a few lines from my post here:
"Some perverted leches want to have sex with little children. Always have, always will. Good people back then did not want to have sex with little children. They still don't.
Just because it was possible back then without going to jail does not mean he was not a lech. Jesus did not want to bone little girls. Buddha didn't. Christ didn't. Mahavir Jain didn't.
If you are a good man, you don't do a million things that your "prophet" did. If you are a bad man, you do the things he did.
And if you are a bad man, I don't want to verify whether there REALLY was a winged creature in the cave giving you updates to the Old and New Testaments. (I actually wouldn't want to know anyway).
Sorry, ALL you Muslims have been the subject of a BIG hoax. Your prophet managed to fool everybody and bone everything he wanted to. Did what he wanted. When he wanted. As much as he could get away with.
You guys are idiots. Yes. ALL of you. Remember that the next time you are praying.
(Of course, the Jesus story of the virgin birth was another load of garbage. It SO happened that she got pregnant when Joseph was away. Virgin birth. Yeah right. Joseph probably did not want her to get stoned to death. But at least Jesus was a good man. No son of god, but a good man, who has my respect - if that story about him asking god to forgive those who hurt him on the cross is true.)"
[We in India had a recorded history of polygomy and child marriages. Jinnah did it, Gandhi did it (though when they started bonking is a different matter).]
More islamic obfuscation. Why? Gandhi married a child WHEN HE HIMSELF WAS A CHILD. All Muslims know it, but they keep repeating it. mo was boinking ayesha when he was 55, and she was 9. Get the difference?
And polygamy? Yes, this happened in India in the old days quite a lot, BUT WE DO NOT RESPECT ANYONE WHO DID THAT AS OUR "PROPHET". GET THE DIFFERENCE?
[Look at our own mythology. Krishna is a whoremaster since childhood. He effed 16,000 girls.]
Firstly, Krishna is mythology. Secondly, can you provide refernces for "Krishna is a whoremaster since childhood. He effed 16,000 girls."?
Your Islamic slip is showing.
[Instead we look at Him as an incarnation of Vishnu and the man who gave Gita. His personal life is outta discussion at anytime.]
Nope. You can discuss his personal life all you want. Nobody gives a damn.

Those who kill female foetuses are not looked upto as "prophets". So don't bring up irrelevant comparisons.

More stupid than pedophile followers? Rapist worshippers?
It's not possible.

I don't know why age is so important in this issue. I just don't get the difference if a 19 years bangs a 13 years old or a 52 years old does it. It is wrong on both counts and probably carries the same punishment in todays western world. remember there is no punishment for underage marriage in India as 447,000 hits prove. It is just so common that people take it as a way of life. I wish I could post all 447,000 links on this site but it would be fun to just see the first page of the results with pictures and all the gory details. Indian society in this regard is perhaps the sickest society where people just don't feel any social responsibility in taking care of this decease of underage marriages and daughter busting even before they are born....
Sick!
Sick!
