The irony of the whole thing is Congress govt banning this ad. Congress leader and father of our great nation, Mahatma Gandhi, used to run around all over the world in his langot and was walking, talking ad for the traditional indian under-garment. And now this banning. Below is the Amul macho ad and u see it and be the judge

India pulls plug on "vulgar" underwear ads
Fri Jul 27, 2007 7:54PM EDT

NE W DELHI (Hollywood Reporter) - Two television ads for underwear were banned in India for being "indecent, vulgar and suggestive," broadcast regulators said Friday.
The TV commercial for Amul Macho Underwear shows a young housewife suggestively washing her husband's underwear on a riverbank as other women eye her curiously. The Lux Cozy Underwear ad shows a man with only a towel wrapped around him answering the door where he is met by a young woman. The towel slips and the woman's eyes gaze downwards.
After airing for months and stirring up a heated public debate, both ads were banned by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. It warned broadcasters "to be more careful in future" with their choice of advertisements.

# 78, that is called the Power of Small Numbers that zee and I have been talking about, off and on. Now, let's follow along and see what kind of impact this one "poor and powerless" student's opinion has on the life of the Powerful and Rich Mr Anwarul Hassan over the next few months.

Reading the article below made me very sad. What is the world coming to. Has it gone mad. Slaughtering English language like this - "revenge from".

Jamia Faridia students to take revenge from PTV anchor
Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: Students of Jamia Faridia on Friday announced that they would take revenge from PTV’s anchor Anwarul Hassan for insulting Lal Masjid chief cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz by taking his interview in a burqa.
“We will take revenge from Hassan who in an insulting way interviewed Maulana Abdul Aziz. We know him and his family very well and we will not let him go easily,” said a furious student while addressing people inside the Lal Masjid during Juma prayer. Aziz wearing a burqa was arrested on July 5, two days after the launching of ‘Operation Silence.’ The PTV telecasted Aziz’s interview on July 7. The student said that the PTV insulted Islam and the chief cleric by telecasting his interview. During his address other students chanted slogans against the government.

salim bhayya,
{Broaden your umbrella and welcome ALL Pakistanis. Stop the insistence of implementing Shariat Law. }
i thought the best bet for return to democracy would have been for altaph bhai and BB (two secularoons with biggest grassroot organizations) to come together. but that cannot be ..so why do you think that the momeen parties will increase the girth of their ghaghra to include more?

Zeemax #74,
Zee bhayya,
Erdogan has demonstrated that he can get secular Muslims to support him because of - honest leadership, compassion, compromise, common sense, lack of corruption, good economy, principled policies, and most of all determination, modernization, AND tolerance for others.

I love posting memorable photos ... as you may have noticed:

And to think some idiots protested over this guy becoming President just over his wife's headscarf.

#69, the Crusaders (those who have been fighitng against Allah and his messenger before) have been using the lal masjid for a long time for their perverted agenda, and their agents are still using it to ferment civil war and cause division among believers, best to demolish that fitna, the verse fits that "masjid" perfectly....

Masadi Sahib,
Please don't take my advice the wrong way, I am very sincere in offering it to the religious movement in Pakistan. The people of my unfortunate country are totally disgusted with Mushy, the fratricidal army, and the hypocritical "democratic elites." Now is the right time for those who consider themselves to be genuine Muslims to come and rescue Pakistan from devastation. Please take some lessons from the AKP and PM Tayyep Erdogan in Turkey. Broaden your umbrella and welcome ALL Pakistanis. Stop the insistence of implementing Shariat Law. Support the advancement and education of females and the God-given liberties for ALL citizens. Live the spirit of the Holy Koran and the example set by our beloved Holy Prophet (PBUH) and not waste your time and our time in debating over useless, minsicule, and obscure nonsense such as the length of one's beard and the height of the shalwar above the ankle.
Don't lose this golden opportunity to save Pakistan, beautify Islam once again, and to create a better future for ALL Pakistanis. Inshallah.

9:107 And there are those who put up a mosque by way of mischief and infidelity - to disunite the Believers - and in preparation for one who warred against Allah and His Messenger aforetime. They will indeed swear that their intention is nothing but good; But Allah doth declare that they are certainly liars.
9:108 Never stand thou forth therein. There is a mosque whose foundation was laid from the first day on piety; it is more worthy of the standing forth (for prayer) therein. In it are men who love to be purified; and Allah loveth those who make themselves pure.
