This dumb-ass piece making pretenses of a short story is a real torture to have to read through. Chowk should provide some kind of monetary awards to those gallant souls who can successfully undergo the pain and actually read all the way to the end. Downright depressing end! Personally, I detest dog fights – especially a bad dog-gone injured dog-gone dead dog-gone forever-gone dog-gone story! Dog-dammit! Perhaps miaN Subroto could send in his Nawab to make peace – or at least make a few wisecracks. Good dog!

Dear Chowk editors,
How have you let "tale" slip into this piece when it should have been "tail"? Don't you edit pieces like this to eliminate such simple errors/typos? It is jarring to see slip-ups like this.
Shahzada,
A good story, carrying the "every dog has his day" theme quite powerfully.
Just one humble request: please use words carefully for more effect.Writing well and becoming needlessly verbose are two entirely different things.
Very good attempt.....I enjoyed reading it in spite of the above-mentioned points.

Shahzada,
I cannot get through this story. Why should I be interested in this dog? You wasted 2 paragraphs without giving me any reason to be interested.
You see, I am the modern distracted reader. I am not sitting down begging you to tell me a story. The situation is the opposite. You are sitting down begging to tell me a story. My attention span is short. You need to grab my attention from the opening line, and never let it lapse.
with much respect,
thinking storm
