#12 jayp: so now you claim you come to chowk to "peddle ideas". in #2 you tell your fellow pandit-hates that you come to chowk for "paki bashing"!!

you are right. "paki-bashing" is indeed an "idea" - but only in the head of a pandit hate whose hatred for muslims and pakistan is reflected in his posts for the past 10 years!!

Jayp,

your post gave me an idea on writing an article on how mobile phones and walk mans and ipods havemade us forget that old fashioned face to face interaction with a stranger.

Hamid,

I agree, the mobile phone delivers loneliness in a crowd especially for some one like me who has life long friends whom I met in trains in India.

Then again one will never know, there could be several positive things that this technology could deliver, it is a question of ones weltanshaung ( more than a decade since I used that word)

tahmed,

Chowk is a place where one peddles ideas, dont be personally angry with any one, respond to the posts and articles without involving personalities, like how i do. Stick with the collective, like paki bashing, not jay bashing that you are doing. To me individuals are the same, it is teh collective, formed by ideas like TNT that destroys pakistan, and in that process its people.

criticize the ideas not the personality of the people behind it. I have found that pakistanis cannot understand this distinction, a good example is YLH, he attacks the personal quirks of Gandhi, never even cared to read what he stood for, what his ideas were.

Take Jinnah, and what his notion of TNT stand for, religion based hatred, for which he has to be criticised and I do not care what his personal life was.

Re: # 8 Actually it was developed for teen agers so that they can message friends in class while teacher was teaching, making crude remarks about teachers, elders, school authorities and usual silly puppy love messages. Its not educational tool but spoiled children of elites showing they are different and making statement ( like owning big foreign car when you can as well use small car and save money or walk to same
without polluting air) and showing contempt for fellow poor madarssa attending students.

jay thakeray: hmmmm...lets see...in #2 you were talking of "paki-bashing:, and when I analyse your hollow "paki-bashing" in #4 you change your tune and now it is my "ilk" that engages in this, not you.

Yup. Hamidm is right. You are a funny man. Particularly when you try to be clever. And they have funny farms where they put funny men like you and give them lithium pills.

jay,

that was funny! ..... the mobile phone is getting to be like 'the blob' - it is slowly but surely destroying mankind ....

........on my recent trip to pakistan i was astonished when my sister sms'd her son instead of simply yelling at him to get his sorry ass downstairs for breakfast ........ my biggest peeve is when you go to movies and all the teenagers, who are there with their friends, are constantly texting other friends who are not there - if they miss them so much why didn't they just stay with them .....

Tahmed,

Take it easy, some one finds humorous side in everything, read my articles in chowk on Camry, carpets etc. and if you have any insight into your own mind will know that I do not take the paki bashing nor the india bashing by your ilk with seriousness more than what is given to mobile phones.

Dont read the interact, read the article.

and before some sane Indian (and there are a few on chowk) comes running to Jayp's rescue, read his post #2 below, to which # 5 responds. Pandit Hates need all the help they can get to see reality, and this post is part of that effort. Thank you. :-)

So...Jayp comes for Paki-bashing to chowk? :-) Writing bs is Paki-bashing? Only a half-brained twit from India would think so.

This news item below is real life, Pandit Hate-jee: (except...for the minor detail about who got bashed):

Mob of 50 attacks Indians in east German town DRESDEN, Germany, Aug 20 (Reuters) A mob shouting racial insults attacked eight Indians at a town fair in east Germany, then chased them and besieged them inside a pizzeria until they were rescued by police, officials said Monday. Around 70 police were required to disperse the mob of 50 people, which gathered after revellers shouted abuse and threw bottles at the Indians during the town fair in Muegeln, east of Leipzig, Saturday night, police said. All of the Indians were injured, he said. (Posted @ 21:00 PST)

[I remember the days of Philip Koetler, the marketing guru who wrote books for Marketing 101. He declared that products that succeed in the market place are the ones that meet human needs, which is definitely not true for mobile phones.]

His book also contained this golden nugget: the marketing of Revlon perfumes is based on the premise that virginity is the rarest form of sexual aberration ;-)

JP, Good funny read;

BTW there is a social revolution happening among males in India..

No longer is "mine is bigger than yours" relevant but "yours is smaller and has more features" a sure sign of higher social standing :)
