part of #128 was cut off
The main news item is :FAKE YOURSELF INTO HAPPINESS
Pathetic isn't it how they manage the people's misery in a system designed to benefit the few, and yet call themselves "enlightened" and "civilized". Whatever happened to the value of "The Truth will set you free"?

#128 Posted by masadi,
masadi wasn't it cheerful robots instead of cheerful morons? :)
I actually agree with you to the extent of 'cheerful robots' .... but the agreement ends there !!!
Then you write:
we need people consciousness and people power, only then will the people be independant enough to discover Islam for themselves....
Wouldn't you need cadres for that? And where're you going to find those if not from the 'CVIs'?

hamidm
I will admit i to used to like sheikh rashid, what a big fuker i used to think, but the way hhe spread his legs without a whimper for musharaf was too much even mushahid hussain made a few noises before he gave in.
Another thing is as he has grown older he seems more and more queer, you know what our beloved prophet said: The one who does not marry is not one among us.
and the donation of his to a omen's college i suspect is just so that he doent have to go out to purchase milk, u know sort of having a dairy farm at home.

borivili,
.... i don't think it is fair to compare the prophet (pbuh and his camel) to sheik rashid ..... sheikh sahib, inspite of his reputation, couldn't possibly keep up with a prolific prophet .....

baluchistan and nwfp goes to the maulvis again, to ensure americans remain in line....
americans remain in line? HAHA..that's almost as stupid as the t-shirts remark...some people here said something like that a short while ago..and then the news of the hellfires broke..
outside your echo-chamber of self-delusion, the world sees it as it is..uncle sam has pureland on a leash..whether the leash is mushy or benazir is hardly relevant...

Kaal:
"....., a most fascinating prognosis. Do you have any time frame in mind for this process to unfold? ...."
For your answer, let me quote from the latest Harvard Business School Alumni Bulletin. Second time in its history, HBS Alumnns have accpointed non-American as the President.
This time it is Saquib Shirazi, CEO, Atlas Honda, Karachi. He is quote as following:
"From his own experiences, Shirazi said he sees more HBS alums i positions where theyface HBS counterparts acress the table....., and in some cases, they even get involved in helping to defuse geopolitical disputes."
"He recounted, for example, how Pakistan and India picked key business leaders to negotiate a reduction of dangerously escalating border hostilities between two countries back in 2002. The Pakistani team had four HBS alums,- including Saquib Shirazi - while the indian delegation had atleast six. " -Page 2, HBS Alumni Bulletin, Sep. 2007
Unfortunately, with all obsession about dead and gone, and repeated choices for the loosers (Imran Khan etc.) Yasser's face here, does not reflect the Pakistani youth. Scoutnew, Cliftonbridge, Salim Chauhan, Zeena and Zahraj show a true pluralism and vibrancy.
Are you surprised that four out of five are women?
Pakistan need stability, education and female empowerment. Let it come, and see the transformation. Timeframe, is something I cannot say when. I can only point that India got much earlier. I know results speaks for themselves. None should interpret this statement that India is a rose garden.

brilvili,
... sheikh sahib is not a lota - he can get elected with or without any party ...... i think he has done a lot more for his constituents by joining the ruling party instead of fighting it for some silly 'principle' - i would rather have paved roads and running water ..... and nobody has ever been able to bring up any charges of corruption against him - bb tried her best and finally threw him in jail for posessing an unlicensed weapon !......... he still laughs about it ...
another great quote: during benazir's government when he was asked about what he thought about a sitting prime minister being pregnant, he replied, "i swear i had nothing to do with it - i was in jail ".......... the man is priceless !
