Musharraf was imposed upon the people of Pakistan through the barrel of the military gun, under that barrel the legislature was chosen and the SC set into motion, if either the SC Or the legislature were to step outside the room allowed to them by the military, the gun would come into action like it has at this moment. The SC is perfectly within its bounds to keep a check on the legislature and the executive so that they do not overstep the bounds set by the constitution. But what we have is an unlawful situation of a military dictatorship trying to play democracy while holding a gun to all branches of the civilian government, allowing only those that submit to it...

Mushy had no other option but to bring to heel the middle-class and their courts - for they were being extremely silly.
Mushy was elected by the legislature - which for all purposes is the place where sovereign authority is situated. By suggesting that the legislature has not doen the right thing the SC was challeging the legitemacy of the legislature - mind you the court gets it funds authorised from here....
Poor chap whatelse could he do....notice it is only the Imran Khan outfit wchic is sort of crying out loud. PPP the PML (various) are silent. All the protests are carried out by the lawyers, the courts lactchkeys etc. Basically the muddle classes were not getting their fair share (what they consider to be) of the loot from Mushy!!!!!!
How many people have turned up ont he streets ----- none naada zilch and it will be so for sometime to come...

Kidnapped by whom? and where is this news posted. I have also heard a more extreme rumor that of is his unfortunate demise- is there any truth to those?

Maj writes "While I don't support banning anyone, could it be that you were banned because you have been abusing and insulting everyone who does not agree with you as is your wont."
IT is no abuse that they are worried about they ban me because of my ideas and ideas alone otherwise they are quite lenient with the other posters. Kulharee was condeming a whole community of people, saying they were uncivilized, I merely reminded him of the level of his own civilization according to his own article, and his choice of spouse, that is no abuse comparable to what he has been writing as well as the others

Masadi sahib,
(the miserable chowk staff had banned me yet once again )
While I don't support banning anyone, could it be that you were banned because you have been abusing and insulting everyone who does not agree with you as is your wont.
( have been trying to write a commentary on ongoing events but these chowk staff had blacked me )
Why dont you post on Unplugged, there is a lot more action going on there.
(Imran Khan managed to slip out of his house and is in hiding, he is not under house arrest. )
Rumour is that he has been kidnapped.
Regards

According to reuters news, Imran Khan managed to slip out of his house and is in hiding, he is not under house arrest. He needs to take it easy and let the elites go at it for the time being, Musharraf will be removed shortly, either crudely by a US missile or by its occupation force the Pak Army. The best thing for Imran Khan to do right now is shut up for a little while and try not to get shot for no reason. His blabbering wont change IMF policies at the current time...

for the past 24 hours I have been trying to write a commentary on ongoing events but these chowk staff had blacked me out like the private tv channels that Musharraf blacked out.

Re: # 3
Middle class in Pakistan never comes out. People have to be organized in order to yield effective collective action. This is not the case in Pakistan. People do not take to streets now. Parties which are in a position to bring people are busy in extracting their share fromthe military junta..
On its own middle class who is largely white collar wont come out and that too when they know that banton is waiting for them...

......why are they not coming out on the streets?

A mystery: Why is the majority of people, especially the moderate middle not reacting to the situation in Pakistan?
