{"So, General Musharraf, get the hell out of here and return the power to people, restore the judiciary and reinstate the constitution of Pakistan. We have had enough of you and its not working anymore. "}
Bhatti Sahib,
Well said and I applaud your enthusiasm for democracy and your disgust at this incompetent and brutal dictator. Having said that I am getting rather annoyed by the hypocrites represented by Hypo Chacha Al Butteesi and his fan club. Where were these democratic elites when Karachi was being brutalized by civilian dictators like Bezamir Bhutni and Nawaz Beshareef? Where were these freedom chanters when Zina Owl Hag was installing Nizam-e-Mustafa?
I hate dictators, but my disgust is not diluted by ethnic, religious, or racial concerns.
Also, keep in mind that removing Shortcut Aziz may not be such a brilliant idea. After all, he is a much better manager of the economy than that "Ten Percenter" of a simpleton.

Khalid Sahib, very well reasoned article. I congratulate you on it and hope that it finds wider circualation.
Musharraf's 200 plus acre farm in Bahawalpur... the now-defunct cheif justice was also taking up a case on the army usurpation of land.
“Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel”. This is particulary the case when the army makes feel that telling the truth is unpatriotic. What a scoundrel Musharaf is!!!

Ras: here is the podcast link mentioned in #9 below:

YLH actually speaks much better than NS!! (a low bar admittedly).
and notice how the mush supporter can only fabricate - e/g/ he claims the CJ turned against Mush AFTER he was fired, when the fact is that Mush fired the CJ BECAUSE the latter refused to give Mush the rubber stamp approval to continue making a mockery of elections yet again, and because the latter applied the habeas corpus against Mush's "disappearances" of Pakistani.

There is an Pakistan anti-military rule demonstration today starting at 3 pm at Lafeyette Park (across from the White House, btw).

thanks nasah. and I agree with you on #1: mush has been getting all this US support because he has "outsmarted" them into thinking that he is serious about terrorism. When in fact terrorism is his ticket to survival, and what he is serious about is what he fears the most - civil society in Pakistan. but then, Bush has demonstrated that he is easily "outsmarted" (by Putin as well, e.g.).

Where is YLH these days?
We have not heard from him or Aisha on CHOWK
in the past few days.
We need an article or report from the scene.

Benazir Bhutto -- whatever her political failings true or alleged may be -- she is one hell of a gutsy woman to emerge from a woman-demeaning misogynist community.
May God protect her from berserk Jihadis and from a berserk dictator.

"Zyxius: filthy language merely reflects upon you, and doesnt say anything about BB (regardless of what one thinks of her)."
you can say that again tahmed.

Re: Wall Street Journal Article siting Benazir seeking "Street Credibility"
I was under the impression that she had impeccable street credibility...from the street of Hira mandi to the street of Deira in Dubai, Bibi is the highest paid Pakistani prostitute I know of.

Mr. Nasah,
Don't blame the bar-tender for the drunkard's problem. And the bar cannot also be the recovery home of Alcoholics Anonymous.
The solutions for Pakistan's problems lie within her own borders, not half-way around the world. Stop blaming America for everything.

Constituition in abeyance, Supremem Court judges dismissed, lawyers and HR workers bludgeoned, bloodied and jailed in thousands -- and stupid Americans morons are asking if Musharraf is a dictator -- and when he will have the blasted "free, fair election" -- what a goofy question -- like a dying cholera patient's being vision checked for eye glasses -- does that 'enlightened' Nazi look like a man who would hold a fair free election?
Not one American of any substance -- Democrat or Republican -- has asked the Constitution Molester Musharraf -- when he will restore the Constitution, -- and when the dignity and indepence of a violated Supreme Court be given back and its REAL judges reinstated?
WHo does that such a thing in this day and age except those Myanmari jungle generals and then this power-greedy jungli in Pakistan.
People say Jihadis have destroyed Pakistan's image -- not more than Musharraf has.
Election or no Election -- Musharraf MUST first reinstate the Supreme Court justices -- or LEAVE.
Then the face powder, hair color and the cosmetics -- not before.
