kuntakinte,

.... i don't know if you have noticed, but inspite of the fact that we have some people like masadi, by and large people on chowk try not to cross that fine line that divides the sacred from the profane .......

.... i think musharraf is in big trouble - he is beginning to talk like masadi .....

..... and he is beginning to act like a desperate fool! .... as they say, "lagda aye jarnail assab pohntra gaya nay!" ... i hope negroponte tried to slap some sense into him .......

..........he still has the opportunity to let go of the kursi and save whatever little face he has left - bewakoof kahin ka! .......and i am sure bilal mian will be happy to put out some clean towels for him and show him around boston for a while ......... when bilal goes off to work he can go down to the nearest starbucks and watch the 'traffic' - it is not a bad way for a sixty year old man to spend the day ....... and bilal can drop off sehba at the mall where she can shop for gucci bags and chanel sunglasses to keep up with benazir ..... i am sure he can afford it - the government of pakistan will make sure he continues to get his pension as coas ..... if he is lucky, he can also collect his pension as president ... i have a feeling that he came up with this dual office scam for that reason anyway ......

general kiani zindabad !
sheikh rashid zindabad !

Hamid,

It seems that you are mad at masadi. Is it true? Why does an idiotic poster like masadi making you mad?

America is heavily dependent on Musharraf and Pakistan’s military. Without Pakistan’s support, Nato and America in Afghanistan are doomed. Nato and American forces in Afghanistan need 57,000 gallons of oil a day to keep their tanks and jeeps moving. That oil is supplied by Pakistan. There is no alternative to that. Musharraf and Pakistan’s military has America by the balls. Both Pakistan and America know that. It’s Pakistan’s military that’s calling the shot, not America. Then there is always Iran. America needs Pakistan a lot more than Pakistan needs America. That’s why Musharraf is telling America to take its “superpower” and shove it.

Akmal Sahib Salaams,

This article is accurate and right on the money.

I hope that many people will let what it says sink in.

Glad to note that unlike some of the rest of us

you still maintain your keen eye on the country

and its future.

A couple of lines directed towards BB...

articles like these make you understand why just being "literate" does not make you an educated person. you can be literate in the sense of having read books and accumulated degrees, but unless you have the ability to employ reasoning and logic and formulate your opinion by backing it with well thought out evidence, you are no better than those maulvis who doubt men landed on moon.

hamid writes " so you are still on the dole?..... "

Unlike you, I have never been on the dole. I work at a job at a university, demanded my own pay which they accepted because they thought me worthy of it. That university is funded by the US aid (partly), that does not put me on "the dole" and it does not translate into "biting the hand that feeds you"- I do not bite my own hand, I am feeding myself by the grace of God. Get it fool.

Just like the US was directly (seperately) talking to Turkey's military when the civilian government wouldn't allow an invasion of northern Iraq by the US from Turkish soil, and just like it was seperately talking to the military commanders in Iran before the Khomeni revolution to facilitate it- nice setup they have, an armed state inside a state with no army to defend it, a state within a state, the armed one with the colonial power the unarmed one made to submit, in other words states that have indigeneously staffed foreign occupation forces...

masadi mian,

" have a job thank you in an institution that gets part financing from US aid"

....... so you are still on the dole?..... don't you think it is rather hypocritical to bite the hand that feeds you? .... shame on you - pissing in the plate that you eat from .......

.... and you should be thankful that i am happy to pay for putting you out of your misery - otherwise your family would have to pay for the euthanasia procedure .... god bless them

Islamabad (PTI): The US on Saturday delivered a "strong message" to beleaguered Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf to lift emergency but the defiant military ruler refused to yield saying the measure was needed to fight terrorism and conduct free and fair elections.

US Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte during a two-hour-long meeting with Musharraf here conveyed a "strong message" to the General to end emergency and doff his uniform immediately, western diplomatic sources said.

Deputy army chief Gen Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani, who will replace Musharraf as army chief once he gives up his military uniform, was also present at the meeting. Negroponte had earlier separately met Kiyani.

hamid writes "......i will be happy to have my tax dollars used for this purpose ...."

Chowk staff hamid has been directly advocating killing and violence, not only of posters here but of people at large in Pakistan, where do you all draw the line? I know for me it is very short, I say "dumbo" and you lock me out, here he is advocating the KILLING of posters and he would be happy to pay for that killing and you let him off without a warning. What kind of BS is this?

hamid writes " stop being a fool and get a job .... "

I have a job thank you in an institution that gets part financing from US aid, all that to tell the kids at that institution that the US is the most unfree society on earth, that uses the slogan of freedom to manipulate its own masses and the world! Fantastic ain't it; and I sure as hell am not a fool, everything I said regarding the Pakistan political scene and the American part and reactions to it has come to pass to the dot, and I said it atleast 6 months in advance of all these happening. You are the fool and the one who has no clue except for BS, after the fact, as if you're some sort of a goddamned genius.

.... like i have told you many times before, the us is not responsible for your failure to make it in the land of opportunity - not everyone does ... stop being a fool and get a job ....
