Just forget it. General Kiani is taking over the rule from the current idiot, and the nukes are safe, and the aid package from the US will continue. And our mad masadi will continue getting under hamid’s skin with his us elite, and we will continue to have fun at chowk.

BB’s deal with mushy will become null and void, and kiyani will create his own farce for the next few years. After all kiyani is from the ISI. Who else could safegaurd the most important Pakistani assets?

In life, we have to be carefull what we say, because chickens do come home to roost. I hope, for the sake of the innocent, that this period passes by without too much termoil.

I think in Pakistan, as in many other places, the time to do some soul searching has come. You cannot feed the snake on your neighbors lawn because you hate your neighbor. That snake could turn around and enter your own yard. I don't know how long it will take for every individual to know that LIVE AND LET LIVE is in his own best interest, matterially and spritually.

It may be a more formidable foe but bringing it into full play also won't be without risk. When an army whose motto is "jihad in the name of Allah" is asked to face those who are known to be fighting for that very cause, it would put tremendous stress on the discipline of the army. The security forces people who surrendered without a fight did not do so because they lacked weapons or discipline or for the incentive of receiving Rs. 500.

The writer has rightly seen the axis of evil that is ripping apart the soul of Pakistani nation: Al Qaeda-Taliban! To this, however, must also be added the invasion of the Roman and Assyrian Empires by barbarian tribes. In the latter case, the state came as a result of its overstretch and indulgence in foreign wars -- thus leaving important flanks open -- came tumbling down by the ambush of the evil tribes.

A similar distraction from the core issue of the security of the state is currently seen in Pakistan due to the power-hunger of Gen. Musharraf resulting in the overstretch of the military machine. The battle of ideologies has apparently and understandably been won by the nihilistic armies of AlQaeda-Taliban which are no different than the Gog and Magog with their deep-seated hatred of modernity which must be eliminated before they eliminate the civilization!

The religious parties in Pakistan have been quite naively condoning the spread of ´Sharia` by the Gog and Magog not knowing that what is being spread by these monsters in not any religious law but barbarianism. They must’ve the foresight to see that danger that these ´Khawarajeens` of our time pose to civilization and consequently must declare total jihad against them. One can't and shouldn’t overlook here the connection between the Talibans and the Pashtun man’s psychology which remains backward looking and fearing any change in the tribal culture. But the majority of Pakistan remains alien to this barbarian culture and therefore the total war against the armies of evil must be unleashed. The battle is not to be won by the paramilitary forces -- as has been correctly suggested by the author – but by the professionally trained military. The fact that these monsters have no respect for life gives the Pakistani state to even use bio-chemical weapons against these barbarians – to fulfil their desire of ´Shahada` and to save the costly lives of Pakistani soldiers.

You are correct in questioning BB's past but as you have

mentioned already, the PPP is a REAL part with REAL support

in Pakistan.

On the other hand I am not overly critical of General

Musharraf either. He has not been a tough dictator and

has only recently been making a series of mistakes.

The hope was that there could be some kind of understanding

between BB and the General (PM) to make room for Mian Nawaz

Sharif to return also because elections without both

BB and Nawaz would not exactly be fair in the democratic

sense.

I like democracy because I live in a democratic country

(watch masadi get all worked up).

This "Democratic Wave" has the same forces behind it as

the "Dictatorial Wave" of the hypocritical past. But in any

case, the inclusion of the people is important in Pakistani

decision-making today. I just hope that the General will

listen.

I am not gloating over his difficulties today. I wish him

well and congratulate Shaukat Aziz whom we all

affectionately call "Shortcut" for a job well done.

It is time for PM to ride the democratic wave and not fight

it. And there is no reason to call for his blood.

The man deserves our respect for making several right

decisions till March 07. The last November 3rd decision was

plain bad.

You are half right. I have been away too long and am too

old now anyway to be taken seriously. I saw ZAB pick up the

pieces of "The New Pakistan" and then left the country.

The PPP on the other hand is a genuine party with quite a

following. I wish that Imran had that kind of a vote bank

so we could have him lead the democratic wave today too.

Benazir and Nawaz both have large vote banks. Let us hope

that they are not into revenge politics and that the

democratic transition can happen with Kiani leading the

uniforms.

Like I have written before, I do not have a champion in

Pakistan. I am not even a has been there. But I do support

the PPP because it has survived this long along

with its genuine vote bank.

My sights are actually on elections in the USA next year.

If their lifeline is gas and Pakistan can squeeze american jugler , gas and service provided by Pakistan. This is time to squeeze America force them to deliver Kashmir to pakistan just as Surbia was bombed in to submission by usa bomber. Force USA to act against India and force them India into Submissiom and give back Kashmir to Pakistan. At same time make USA forced Puppet man Karzai to agree to Durand line and two birds can be killed in one stone. This gamble and need to be paid to get Kashmir and acceptance of Durand Line, it is better gamble than making open war on india to snatch Kashmir.

Mushy is not a bad guy, really! .... even though i do not share your enthusiasm for benazir, it is a fact that ppp is a legitimate political party with strong grass root support ..... hopefully, she has learned a lesson from her past misadventures and will be more democratic and less corrupt..... i also hope that she will dump zardari soon - the man is a huge liability and is not a good role model for her children ....

....... other than that, i hope pml-n and ppp can form a coalition government and reach some kind of understanding with mqm in karachi ...... they can then ship qazi and fazloo to guantanamo, make imran khan the president of the cricket control board, throw chaudary shujaat husain in jail for stealing cattle, and make pervez welahi the sho of tibbi thana where he can collect bhatta from the ladies of heera mandi ........

At the minimum it is an indication of their stagnant and ghetto-ish mind which has frozen in time. Or perhaps they engage in these meaningless 70s era slogans because it reminds them of their long lost youth.

but yes, bhutto will be remembered for as long as Pakistan exists - for he was one of those responsible for breaking it up in 1971.
