Welcome home Nawaz Sharif!

It took a while but a Government of National

Unity/Reconciliation is the need of the hour.

Good luck to all members of the Sharif family.

Time for Pakistanis to put the politics of

revenge behind them.

Masadi,
After reading your third rate plagiarized BS suitable only for lulu.com, it is now amply clear that it is you who should hang up the coat and retire. You have said enough.....for a lifetime. Now go away......

After reading part of this third rate plagirized (from another chowk author who wrote about a couple of Marxists) BS, I think Paracha should hang up his coat and retire. Enough said.........

Re: # 25
adnan, dude, I have been part of LUMS protests as well [LUMPS, as NFP calls it :)], and all I saw were students who had no idea what they were shouting about and were there to have "fun". The only worthwhile thing that has come out of this so-called student protest is the way the students protested against the Jamiat at Punjab University, otherwise, the movement has been a let down. Already many students seem to have given up and walked back.

This is also NOT funny either:

Aitzaz Ahsan -- why the President of the Bar Association is still in Jail if this sham election is supposed to be 'free, fair, transparent'?

Latest from New York Times on Aitzaz Ahsan.

Under pressure from the Bush administration and trying to make the elections appear fair, the government has said more than 5,000 lawyers and opposition party members arrested under emergency rule were freed over the last several days.

But by Friday night, Aitzaz Ahsan, the chairman of the Supreme Court Bar Association, a flamboyant member of Parliament and one of General Musharraf’s most caustic adversaries, was still in prison in Rawalpindi, his wife, Bushra Ahsan, said.

Mrs. Ahsan said that the minister of human rights, Ansar Burney, had visited her husband in jail on Thursday and pledged that Mr. Ahsan would be released so he could complete the filing.

But Mrs. Ahsan said she believed that Mr. Burney was too junior in the cabinet hierarchy to possess the power to deliver on his promise.

“They are refusing to let him out of jail, and nomination papers can’t be filed without a personal appearance,” Mrs. Ahsan said of her husband’s situation.

Another solution, suggested by Mr. Ahsan via a message from jail on Friday morning, was for Mrs. Ahsan to become what she called a stand-in candidate. But, she said, “I am not interested in this sham election.”

With only three days to go before nominations close, it may turn out the government will find a novel solution to the question of Mr. Ahsan’s participation.

The chief commissioner of the Pakistan Election Commission, Qazi Muhammed Farook, said on television this week that some of those being held in jail under the emergency rule would be allowed out to file their papers, and would then be returned to their cells.

“It’s possible they will bring him in custody to sign the nominating papers,” and then take him back to jail, Mrs. Ahsan said."(NYT)

It is V for Vendetta -- for P the Perverted Pervez!

Face it NFP, you were as shocked as everyone else when the 'de-politicized burgers' of LUMS of all places stood up against the General.

We get it that you have to be funny, coz that's what you do best. But mocking away the burgeoning student movement was uncalled for. And don't forget the effect of these protests from LUMS, FAST, etc. Images of western-looking boys and girls facing up to the might of the baton-weilding police, were beamed across the world to Mushy's power base AKA US. It is these small things that slowly chip away at the General's thin veneer.

True, it's just a few hundred people, but u have to applaud their nerves. As the nation sleeps through the defining moments of our destiny, students in a handful of universities are getting arrested, going on hunger strikes, getting beaten up in rallies, all the time asking nothing in return. If that is not a noble concept, what is. Pray tell me, NFP? And don't scoff this time

NFP, I would take it as satire but know your kind better. Your are taking delight in the emergency we are in. You have sick mind.

Very entertaining NFP but not amongst your best!

IK certainly does not know who his real friends are.

But any man that can generate such loyalty from an

Ex-Wife such as he has done with Gem-ima (actually

with a J) deserves respect.

I still admire IK but he remains

out of his league (EXCEPT HERE ON CHOWK)

as far as politics in Pakistan is concerned.

Benazir is Back:

"Jab Tak Pakistan Rahay Ga

Bhutto Tera Naam Rahai Ga"

Nawaz Sharif should be back in the next few days too.

I will finally call General Musharraf "President"

and will remain neutral (after Abrar Hasan is released).

"Go Musharraf!"

Muslims will all soon be preparing to sacrifice hundreds of

thousands of Sheep, Goats, Cows and a few Camels

for Barka Eid.

Life will go on and Nirala Sweets will do a booming

business. Elections will be held and PPP-PML(a to z)plus

MQM will sweep the polls. And Qazi will lose his shirt.

I hope that Imran wins his own seat!

Ras

PS: Sheikh Rashid will win his seat on ANY party ticket.

dumb and dumber - imran khan finds a sidekick .....

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Tehreek-I-Istaqlal, Air Marshal (Retd.), Asghar Khan has announced to boycott the upcoming general elections.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said any political party that takes part in the coming elections would actually betray the entire nation.

“There are 100 per cent chances of rigging in the upcoming elections, therefore, contesting the elections will be a futile exercise,” Asghar Khan claimed.

A hilarious swing across not only Immy's irony but the Jamiat, BB and stupid MTV-Pakistan VJs as well. Immy's manifesto speech hits the nail on the head. "... and teetar ka shikaar." LOL!
Btw, I thinks the "fashionista democrata of instapo" has something to do with Instep, The News' cultural and fashion page that has been running pics of protests by Geo people.

You know ... you can do anything .... you can get expensive threads ... you can hang around with 2 bit desi rock stars, you can be on TV, or trashy weekend print editions, but you can't change the face. Damn ... you just can't change your ugly face whatever you do.

And it's always the face.

Sorry NFP, nothing you do will get you Imran Khan's face.
