#308 Posted by hamidm2,
Yaar the Govt story is quite plausible. I would like to believe it if the credibility of the people who are telling it wasn't so low.
The same people kept insisting that 18 October was two suicide bombers, and now admit there were none, and still don't say what it actually was. Brig Cheema was asked this question in the press conference but he declined to respond.

NDTV is showing the reel of BB assassination that clearly shows a hand gun firing at BB. Now did the bullet kill her or was it the impact of bullets hitting her bulletproof jacket that pushed her hard against the lever end result was the same, BB was killed by the extremist assassin.

#301 hamidm: "indirectly, they (saudis) are - they are the ones who have been funding the madrassas and suicider factories ...... and the army is responsible for helping to set up these factories in the past ....... "
so what have I been saying that you keep contradicting? and if you agree with this fact, then you have no excuse left for repeating musharraf's long-standing excuse for his illegal rule over Pakistan that the alternative to military rule is jihadis. In fact, it would logically follow that the root of jihadism in Pakistan is military rule.

hamidm: I have bad news for you - it is not the jihadis, but a military genius - who dramatically announced that she hit her forehead as if this was a big deal.

bj,
exactly! "Why is the specific cause of death a big deal? " ..... the jihadis are just trying to throw up smokescreens - remember, they are the same people who blame the jews for 9/11 and the hindoos and nthu's grandma for everything that has happened since ..

It can happen. Head injury can be fatal. And nobody is denying that she fell back after being shot (probably unconscious already). Why is the specific cause of death a big deal? It is simply the medical way to explain it.

there was hell of gun fire, huge bomb blast - but it's the sunroof that killed BB... :)
Pakis are so stupid they can't come up with a credible story...

Chacha Zee,
Let me reproduce sections of an earlier post.
.....
The game is all about control over the oil resources. And this can, in the opinion of the US think tank, be easily achieved by balkanisation of the Iran-Iraq-Pakistan region. Small states with oil resources can be ``managed`` effectively (the Kuwait model). Other small & medium states without any significant oil resources can surely be relied upon to maintain a hostile environment with constant mini wars amongst themselves. These regional conflicts shall continuously threaten to spill over into and engulf the ``oil holders`` which would be ``duly protected`` by the US. For a price.
And we have seen the de-facto fracturing of Iraq. The country is slowly drifting towards a Shia Sunni (and maybe Kurd) kind of a political & geographic divide. The possibility of a split up into smaller independent states (mutually hostile) looms large in the medium range future. It is all the more important that Pakistan should ensure that its own self interests are protected in this dangerously evolving scenario.

Hamidm2 miaN,
There is a little bit more to this story. Granted that the Saudis fund bad people - knowingly or unknowingly - through those "charities"! But Amrikkans (people like us) can not absolve ourselves completely - WE send them all that money to satisfy our thirst for their oil - why are we surprised if the ruling royals use a part of that money as pay-off to keep their own Mullahs off their backs?!
And what is the likelihood of acclaim from the Muslim world (a billion strong) if the US were indeed to entertain any thoughts of even touching the Saudis?! (Hint: what was the response in case of the limited scope of operations conducted in Iraq?)

[..indirectly, they are - they are the ones who have been funding the madrassas and suicider factories ..]
They are directly funding those inside ISI.
No, Hamid, when will we get together and call the kettle black. It is not silly to blame the Saudis for this action, as well. This is the bravery that is needed from Pakistanis. If they will not identify the actual and true fault lines then idiotic statements will emanate from the Pakistani government, such as the one that sun roof killed BB. How stupid can we all get?

bubba,
.... for your information i have advocated the 'liberation of the province of hijaz' from the cluthches of the saudi royal family and the creation of a vatican for the muslims under the temporary supervision of the un ..... i am also on record as saying that the us attacked the wrong country - instead of iraq they should have marched on saudi arabia which is the source of islamism ......
...... now, having said that, i think it would be a stretch of my limited imagination to assume that the saudis are directly responsible for bb's murder ......... indirectly, they are - they are the ones who have been funding the madrassas and suicider factories ...... and the army is responsible for helping to set up these factories in the past ....... but to blame this on the saudis is just as silly as blaming it on the jews or nathu khan's grandma ..........

A time to look ahead...
The world knows that I admired the BeeB - especially her courage in that setup where everything is stacked against women.
However, it is always a mistake to put all one's eggs in one basket. It makes it easier for the AQ types to create havoc and disruption by targeting individuals.
What is needed is an orderly way of succession - not too much power in any one individual leader (no matter how good they are). If that simple fact gets recognized then at least something positive would come out of the BeeB's death. In my view, it will lessen the chances of such attacks as the potential killers will see the futility of their acts - no change in the process.
Does anyone know who the next in line is within the PPP?

[.. one should stop beating a horse when it stops kicking ..] Really!? Actually, Musharraf is using all those tricks in the books that maybe you are not familiar with. O! Hamid, why are you so naive?
[.. but it is silly to blame this on musharraf unless you are in cahoots with the true perpetrators of this crime ..] Again, you are not answering the clear obvious question regarding Saudi Arabia. O! I forget, this is one of your wild imagination gone amuck. Huh!
Just realize your whole theory of finding faults is nullified if you do not review this Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their conspiratorial acts against everything decent in the muslim world, no matter what your faujee jawans have taught you in the defense housing societies.
