Actually it's not 1/3rd .... perhaps 1/2. It takes 6 hours from kohat to Dera Ismail Khan by bus. A further 1 1/2 hour from Peshawar to Kohat. That's 7 1/2 hours of terrain Taliban have captured, and you're busy with abusing your perceived enemies.

Kohat and beyond is now cut off from Peshawar.

I spent time in Kohat, Hungu, Parachinar and Dara itself, besides Peshawar and Mardan! So don't exaggerate! I have never taken Bus for dera Isamil Khan to Kohat but From pindi to Kohat was not that much by car.

Peshawar and dara are almost next to each other nowadays. Traveling by car it was never 1 1/2 from Peshawar to Kohat. unless you stop for buying Charas in Dera!

I said that already. You can't go to Kohat w/o passing thru Dara. So if the fighting is going on there that areas is closed!

This comment, regardless of its absurdity, one general does not an Army make, has no connection to my well thought out and historically sound post about the Pakistan army. Regarding America's investment in Afghanistan, the troops on the ground are a pittling compared to what they have sent to Iraq, and as far as dollar amounts go, you have no clue about the true figure because that is not published except as speculation but I can guarantee you it is nothing at all compared to the hundreds of billions the US has spent in Iraq. You have an infantile mind that cannot reason worth shit, the laterine is in your brain, your education is the prime product of the PMA, can't think worth a rat's ass and have no clue about how Pakistani society is set up, you need a lot more reading and education to figure that one out, and learn the meaning of "analysis" your article is simple third grade tabulation with zero analysis.

The Kohat Tunnel at both ends is already occupied by Taliban. Indus Highway is closed. On the Kohat side of the tunnel there used to be a microwave station and Military communication tower on top of the hill. The military contigent there of about ten men was slaughterd and the towers destroyed.
Around Razmak, There are pitched battles going on with attacks and counter attacks. Taliban are now engaging the army in set piece conventional operations and not Hit n Run.
This is the gravity of the situation.

Major General Athar Abbas has confirmed Kohat Tunnel is under Taliban control and FC is trying to free it.

عینی شاہدین کے مطابق طالبان نے سرنگ کے اندر بارود سے بھری پک اپ کو اڑا کر صوبہ سرحد کا رابطہ ان علاقوں کے ساتھ اب مکمل طور پر منقطع کردیا ہے۔

Rather than win brownies, lets concentrate on the gravity of the situation. Agha is trying his best to tell us whats happening and I have no reason to doubt what he says is incorrect. Taliban tactic is changing fron unconventional to conventional and this is alarming.

... and to remember it all started with the bombing of the madrassa in Bajaur where 80 innocent kids were killed during ablutions for Ramzaan morning prayers.

agha is basically BSing! Or pulling for the criminals. I think you are just trying to make him credible for some reason and putting yourself on line for nothing.

There is nothing alarming in the situation in Dara. That place had gone to nuts a long time ago. We are witnessing a game that is being played to benefit some folks in Pakistan especially the army. Creates a good scenarios for another take over. Get over this alarming stuff!
