I see lots of discontent among pakistani muslims… abt Ahmadis becoz they have moved away from the the religion of their ‘forefathers”……..
Hindus feel the same away abt muslims of the subcontinent who have moved away from Hinduism which is the the religion of the forefathers.

Ananth,
http://www.statpak.gov.pk/depts/pco/statistics/other_tables/pop_by_re ligion.pdf
This gives a figure of 0.22% Ahmedi. As Pak population is 168 million that wud mean 0.36 million Ahmedis.
Fakir sahib,
(gen asif nawaz wanted to remove the uniform of lady doctors.)
What a naughty guy. He shud be hung.

Why does Pakistani establishment get soo paranoid about such a tiny minority ?
#165 Posted by majumdar on February 7, 2008 12:19:09 am
Ananth,
Pak establishment is not paranoid about the Ahmedis, indeed some of them are very well represented. For eg Zafarullah Khan in LAK's Cabinet, Shaukat Aziz etc. It is non- Ahmedi Muslims who are on account of some theological disputes including the status of Mirza Ghulam Ahmed. However u will have to ask the experts.

Majumdar bhai, I think Shaukat Aziz isn't an Ahmedi. A couple of years ago, I remember there was a huge ruckus created by some orthodox Muslims about him being one, but he promptly clarified that he is a Sunni Muslim and not Ahmedi.

According to Khabrain (July 1, 2004) then prime minister-in-waiting Shaukat Aziz said that he was not a Qadiani and all the rumours spread about his being one were false and malicious. He pronounced Al Hamdu Lillah and said that he was a Sunni Muslim and the clerics who instructed him in Islam were still alive and could vouch for his not being a Qadiani. Sarerahe in Nawa-e-Waqt stated that Mr Aziz’s mother was in the habit of holding religious gatherings every month on the occasion of Giyarwin Sharif where great Sunni scholars came and lectured. She said her prayers five times a day. According to Jang, Mr Aziz said that his entire family and he held only a Pakistani passport and that he listened only to Eastern music and that he painted in his spare time.
Shaukat Aziz is not the first man who has had to humiliate himself like this. Before him, President Pervez Musharraf also went through the same kind of self-abasement. He had to exclude the Qadianis from his joint electorates, but no one believed him. The more you say you are not a Qadiani the more the clergy will shout Qadiani. Dozens of politicians and bureaucrats were thus put through the humiliating trial-by-falsehood in the past.

Re: # 166 Viqarm
I appologize that certain comments of mine have hurt your feelings but as you can scroll down the posts below you will see that my opinion was solicited. I do not patronize people and certainly do no give character certificates to religious sects and their adherents. So Quadianis may be the most pious people on the planet and Quadianism may be the last hope for mankind, it is not my concern; and I do not care whom you worship - a cow or a god - as a Muslim this is not my concern. But it becomes my concern when a quadiani claims that what Muslims have been beleiving for the past 14 centuries is wrong and not even Islam and Islam is what their prophet Mirza sahib brought a centry and half ago. Well, excuse me, but we only believe that the Islam is what Prophet Mohammad Bin Abdullah (pbuh) of Arabia taught us. If you do not respect our belief, if you keep on disrespecting our Prophet (pbuh), and if you keep on justifying violence on Muslims and attrocities in Muslim lands by foreign occupation then we have a problem. If you can't take the heat then don't come in the kitchen.
It is all on these chowk pages how hamidm, tahmad, fuzair, sattar, and many more disrespect our Holy Prophet (pbuh) day in and day out but you will hardly find one single post disrespecting Mirza Sahib. It only means that it is you people who deliberately provoke violence. And when those innocent Quadianis among you who have nothing to do with your hateful propaganda, and who wish only to live in peace, get in the crossfire, you whine. Suddenly it becomes the persecution of the community.
You sound like a reasonable person to me. I think it is time that you and people like you identify the black sheep among your ranks and scorn them. I good gesture is always reciprocated with kindness. These people are provocateurs but at someone else's expense. They are living a comfortable life abroad while an innocent Quadiani in Pakistan suffers the consequences of their piss and bile. This must stop.

#174 Posted by FakirIppi,
He's a Murtid, an admitted one. There's another one on Chowk. His name is SR. These people have the right to say anything because they have already decided to leave the fold of Islam as a conscious decision. So we must deal with them with that knowledge in why they talk as they do.
