#81 Posted by hamidm2,
Hmm ... I agree with Nos 1 and 3, but not No.2. Dates are not that good for the digestive system.
See? I do agree with most though not all of what you say!

romair,
..... you fool, i am not "supporting" musharraf, i am supporting the winner .... how many times do i have tell you and hazrat tahmed !
..... if i really had to support anyone, i would support the anp because my favourite uncles are part of the party heirarchy .....
asfandyar wali khan zindabad !
p.s. the best way to defeat the taliban is to create an anp militia - they have enough retired generals in their ranks to run ten divisions ........

Hamid:
"..... i agree with you and that is why i would like the unwashed masses to have free access to cheap country liquor and low-grade charas ......."
I think it is a bit late for this. Putting it very simply, the unwashed want the "others" to play by the same rule that they have been made to play by in the past. This is what it is, everything else is just bells and whistles.

... but jest aside, I do believe you got my point. You're not that stupid. You know Pakistan can withstand any sanctions now much batter than it did throughout the 90s.

"You know Pakistan can withstand any sanctions now much batter than it did throughout the 90s."
Absolute statements like this are plain hogwash. It depends on who is in power and/or who are in a position to challenge that power. To the extent that people like you and Hamid rule (obvertly or covertly), hamid is right about the "bowl".

"So, that means an end to cooperation in WOT. The implications? US will stop military assistance, perhaps even spare-parts for the hardware"
Maybe the situation has mellowed out but the last i heard the options being offered were cooperation or being bombed back to the stone age :)

In #73, I hinted at how religion was/is used to keep the unwashed ... well unwashed. Mostly, this was done through rabble rousers who "posed" as the keepers of religion. Well it seems like the unwashed want these washed up guys to stop taking their daily bath. In SWAP etc. Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam guys, standing for elections (and showing their true colours) are being targeted.

#91 Posted by GT,
Don't drift now. I was talking about sustainability of Pakistan's economy without US military aid. And you insisted alongwith the Murtid hamidm re the begging bowl.
Now, what do you know about the Pakistan economy in the 90s and now?
Sorry, you're a typical hindoo despite my best expectations!

I know that Hamid and others will jump on me for saying this, but ..... the unwashed have a leader and the elites need to pay attention:
(from today's Dawn):
"The head of Lal Masjid, Maulana Abdul Aziz, refused to accept condition for his release during a meeting with PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Monday and the matter will now be taken up again after the election.
According to sources, the maulana said that his release did not matter for him because he was ready for any sacrifice for the enforcement of Islamic values.
He asked the PML chief to strive for the reopening of Jamia Faridia which was closed during the Lal Masjid-Jamia Hafsa operation. He demanded that Jamia Hafsa should be rebuilt at the same place.
He asked Chaudhry Shujaat to fulfil the promise of enforcing Sharia which was also part of PML’s programme.
The sources said the PML-Q chief wanted immediate release of Maulana Aziz and he met the cleric to persuade him to agree to a deal with the government.
They said the PML-Q and the JUI-F had suffered a setback in electioneering, especially in rural areas as people blamed them for failing to stop killing of seminary students.
A press release issued by the PML-Q president’s office claimed that Chaudhry Shujaat had discussed a number of proposals with Maulana Aziz and the latter had expressed confidence in Chaudhry Shujaat."

1. Let us not bring in Hidu Muslim into this.
2. If you choose to do so then please go ahead. I am not interested in the discussion.
3. I do not care about character certificates. I know who I am.

Re: # 83
Hamidm Sahib:
"..i am not "supporting" musharraf, i am supporting the winner.."
How can you support a winner, unless you have ability to create / invent a winner?
More often than not the best laid plans to invent / create a winner run amock. Just look at what Obama is doing to Hillary. I mean, gajar-mooli get better treatment.
Art of living in democracy is little different, would you not say that Hamidm sahib?

zeemax,
..... i don't think anyone - north korea, libya, iraq or iran (soon) - can withstand sanctions unless thehy are willing to let their people live like afghans and other sub-human species .............
.... having said that, what do you think about my idea of creating an anp militia to take on the taliban ? ..... some of my relatives love fratricidal warfare and get into a gunfight every couple of years with their 'enemies' in any case ..... this will give them something to do in retirement .....
