.... if you guys don't mind, i would like to withdraw my slogan, "prime minister amin fahim zindabad" (for now)....
.... i though ppp would get many more seats in punjab but it seems they have lost some that were always their's - like kasur ...... the good thing is that they have won quite a few seats in frontier and baluchistan, making them the ONLY national party .......... but if pml-n keeps on winning at this rate nawaz sharif could end up as pm after the bye elections .... so let me try this:
prime minister nawaz sharif zindabad! ???? ( no, it doesn't sound rigtht) ..... so let's try another one:
" prime minister asif zardari zindabad ! ... (nope! that wouldn't work either even though the nro will become law with the new parliament unless nawaz sharif wants to be a real jerk)
... so then what? ....... if it is this difficult for me to decide, musharraf wins - i told you that he is brilliant ! ....... a hung parliament that cannot decide on the pm even with my help is exactly what he wants! ....
.... president musharraf zindabad ! (damn! he is good)
p.s. i reserve the right to revise my slogan tomorrow

Tahmed Sahib:
I cannot speak for Hamidm Sahib, but to me no one is above the constitution. No one, Tahmed Sahib.
Impeach, not Lynch him. That was my point about ensuring no one goes for "Musharraff Murdabad". You saw me bowing to the will of people right here in my post to you. Also, please do not forget not very long ago Mian Nawaz were ran sacking Supreme Court too.
When will this all stop? When will the process of genuine nation building start?

tahmed32,
I guess you and I stand redeemed for belief in the political maturity of the 'awaam' - while the people who have been calling them sheep herds on these boards ... the amreeka returned pseudo-intellectuals ... have got their noses rubbed on the asphalt and mud on their faces.
But you gotta thank me too for Baitullah Mehsud abiding by his promise of not interfering in the polls. Not a single incident anywhere!
Baitullah Mehsud Zindabad!

anil #126 on musharraf "...asking for reconcilation is a good sign of maturity.", please see my response to Hamidm below wrf Hosni Hussein.
Please understand that musharraf overthrew the Constitution. While this may not mean much to his supporters (like you and hamidm), this act has resulted in bringing Pakistan to the brink of chaos - terrorists running loose, ordinary citizens being kidnapped and disappeared by musharraf's goons (until the Chief Justice boldly confronted him on this issue), and hundreds of innocent people killed due to his abusing his powers of office (in Kargill - a result of this man's sabotaging of the peace meeting between two elected prime ministers; and on May 12 when peaceful demonstrators were attacked by mqm on behalf of musharraf). If Pakistan is to put an end to such mischief and deter future generals from similarly abusing their powers, musharraf should be treated as he is - a criminal guilty of the worst crimes against Pakistanis. He may escape being tried for his crimes, and may even manage to hang on to power for a few weeks or months longer. But let us not underestimate the damage his irresponsible and self-serving actions have done to the nation. These are just my views of course, and you and hamidm can continue to differ.

pepe le peu: i really have no interest in exchanging posts with you. but if you like spending your time reading my posts - go for it. just dont expect me to waste time with you (for reasons already explained to your deaf ears).

dost mittar: Agreed that the shelf life of predictions is small. The party to watch on the key issues of musharraf being booted out and on the restoration of the judiciary I think is not PML(N) (which is very clear on the issues) but PPP (where BB was definitely wavering, but Zardari seems to be almost as clear as Nawaz on at least mush's ouster). Together, they can do both. Also, dont underestimate the street strength of the democracy movement in Pakistan.

Dost-Mittar,
No room for horse-trading. Again I'm not going to say I told you so.

So ... PPP & Nawaz Group circa 100 seats each even with Nawaz/Shahbaz not running. ML (Q) between 20-30. Not going to say I told you so!
Humayun Akhtar lost to Gawalmandi Munda Kh. Saad Rafique. Sorry hamidm!

hamidm #127 Good concession speech. Some minor quibbles:
1. " musharraf was on tv and he was very gracious..."
So was Saddam Hussein when he came out of the spider hole..even politely handed over his fancy side-arm to the US soldier, the one he used to personally shoot Iraqis who annoyed him when he was still Hosni Hussein...
you continue: "...his (mush's) chances of hanging on to the presidency for long are looking a little slim.."
ha! ha! they were looking slim the day he separated from his uniform. After that it has been just a question of time. And (here it comes) I have been telling you this for months..but did you listen? No-o-o-o. :-)

I see...so you're now the arbiter of what the people should care about...and if the indian people don't drink the kool-aid, they're just ignorant?
I have news for you...As far as the vast majority of Indians are concerned, the land of the pure only remains relevant to the extent that it's the fountainhead of islamic terrorism the world over...indeed, if there were no islamic terrorism coming out of the land of the pure, it would be west bangladesh to most people in india and cabdriveristan to most people in the world...
except for kool-aid drinkers...

"Could it be because in their audience, there's only a small number of koolaid drinkers who care about the land of the pure beyond the whole terrorism thing...you know..like you..:
No, it shows the generally self-absorbed and apathetic nature of their audience. Even the naxalite catastrophe in Orissa seems to be less important than the performance of the cricket team in Australia.
