More fluff from the pow (peon of the West). The US is not distancing itself from Musharraf, these final hour scurrying of diplomats has quite aptly proven that. Musharraff is not going anywhere. He the army's man in the presidency and they like their man there and right now the military doesn't have anyone who will be more subservient to them than he...

hamidm: not to ruin your day, but..
Bush govt distancing itself from Musharraf
By Anwar Iqbal(Dawn)
WASHINGTON, Feb 28: ...For the first time since the Feb 18 elections, Mr Negroponte also signalled the Bush administration’s desire to distance itself from President Pervez Musharraf. ..Mr Negroponte said that Pakistan, and not President Musharraf, was “indispensable” to the fight against terror.
Pakistan, he said, was important not only as an ally in the war against terror but also in its own right and the United States needed to make other friendly nations aware of Pakistan’s importance.

Masadi sahib,
How does the Pakistani people's hatred of Pak Army discredit MAJ (pbuh)?

majumdar writes "YLH had quoted a poll saying that not only 97% of Pakis gave an approval to MAJ (pbuh) but even 43% Indians..."
I will have to look at the poll, its methodology and its questions, just throwing a number out means nothing. My proof is how the people feel towards the Pakistan Army currently, popularity of which is at an all time low, and the Pakistan Army has used the hatred of India and the MAJ propaganda to build its support among the masses.

In praise of masadi,
Masadi has a world view, he has thought through his arguments, he is consistent, and opinionated...who is not/.
He is the polar opposite of tahmed, who simply makes personal attacks on any and everybody. tahmed has no core ideas, he pretends to be progressive, but cannot condemn the jihadis, cannot condemn the deal given to the ahmadias.
No wonder tahmed is the most vocal critic of masadi.
Well praised by an indian, that should attract a tahmedian fatwa on masadi.

Majumdar
Are we starting a masadi fan club!!!
The US interference in pakistan can be stopped only if pakistan is de-nuked. There are reports that predator is operating from a base in pakistan and it appears true. Predator is powered by a turboprop engine and is a low speed platform and the rapid response to a jihadi meeting in waziristan can be acheived only from close quarters.
I recall that Global Hawk, a jet powered unmanned vehicle was lost because they did not had a base near afghanistan when the engine developed problems. It is sad that teh waziristan has been given to the americans to deal with, with the pak military having withdrawn from the area, or at most confined to fortified positions to escape the jihadi onslaught.

Any evidence. YLH had quoted a poll saying that not only 97% of Pakis gave an approval to MAJ (pbuh) but even 43% Indians gave him a thumbs up.

Once again your claim is just that a claim without a scientific poll to back it up. The Church of the MAJ had a great hold on the Pakistani Muslim but that hold, as reality dawns on them, has been getting weaker and weaker. IT was helped by wars and hatred that the partition event sparked and support for him might merely reflect a hatred for India therefore questions have to carefully formulated. In this regard don't try to tell the expert what your poll results are going to be...

Sorry ana, I gave it a try. Like I said earlier, recommendations of your sort work only with those who have some "humanity" left in them. These morons do not understand the language of decency. Therefore they need to be addressed in their own language. Anil go __ yourself.

Masadi sahib,
It would be useless putting up a poll becuase the Jinnahite cause would win hands down but you would not accept the result saying that it was unscientific etc etc.
I am not at all surprised that Jayp understands your POV 100%.
As a matter of fact even I agree with you a great deal on the fact that USA's interference in Pakistan has been very often a negative influence on the country's evolution.
