#193 you were referring to the "people of Saudi" to which i responded. now you refer to a "country" as a whole. that is two different things.

The custom of the country is driven by the will of the majority. At least majority of people sanction this.

As I see in the Muslim world, the first "murtid" was Mohammed himself, after leaving the doctrine of his ancestors. I have merely followed the "Sunnah".
By the way, that is exactly what a wahabbi friend from Multan said when I met him after almost 8 years, married to his niece/granddaughter via a cousin - it is even too complex for me to workout! - who was only 12 at the time of "nikah"; him being 34. And he is a University graduate from an "educated" family!
What hope do the rest of them have.
No it is not my nickname; however, it would appear "the word" is out!

Yes, Nawaz will benefit, if he is allowed to. What do you think the Americans will/can do to prevent NS from benefiting from the coming chaos?

Absolutely nothing. What do you suppose they can do?
Re 'coming chaos?', the Pakistani nation has seen chaos to chaos and crisis to crisis. I don't believe this chaos is going to be any bigger than any of the preceding ones.

akcheema bhai, I think it would be more intellectually suited for you to contemplate upon kangaroos hopping around with baby kangaroos in their pouches while dodging speeding vehicles at the same time, than to solve the mysteries of the universe!

If one were to ask one billion plus Muslims to check one of the following as a definition of Islam:
a)Individual responsbility God to use one's mental faculties to distinguish between right and wrong and to do the right thing;
b)submission to the will of Allah;
c) believe in one god and no other god and Mohammad being his last prophet; and
d) Strict monotheism;
how many do you think will answer (a).
PS: Straight answer please. We get enough of the indirect answers from our hindu friends.

". What do you suppose they can do?"
I don't know, that's why I asked you. But I think that their interests will be best served to strike the best deal they can with NS. Doodh mein dhulaa tau vo bhi nahiN; in the long run, Americans will only benefit from having a popular Punjabi leader on their side.

#203 Posted by dost_mittar,
...their interests will be best served to strike the best deal they can with NS.
Again, what deal could they strike with NS? And in return for what?
You see, the americans had a deal with musharraf re GWOT in return for guaranteeing his continued rule - and even musharraf couldn't deliver anything significant and failed miserably while being the COAS, President and de-facto P.M ... all at the same time.
What could NS do for the americans when he is none of the above? And what could the americans do for NS when he himself does not want the center and already has Punjab in his pocket?
I had referred to an article in the current issue of Friday Times titled "Well played, Mr. Sharif". It can't be copy/pasted because TFT is a subscription site (I get the print edition). It clearly shows NS strategy.

Zee Zee babe! you didn't get the joke; I was refereing to.....never mind eh!
We are more alike than you think, you and me; you just don't want to admit it.
And since when has Nawaz Sharif become the "champion" of Islamic cause in the Pakiland? Or is it the same old "lesser of the evils" concept?

I never said he was. He's right of center, which is same as most of the Pakistani population.
