Here is more news for you - one thousand WWII veterans in the US die every day nowadays (due to old age). By your reasoning, their life is cheap as well. A thousands of men your age die every day all around the world every day. By your reasoning, their life is cheap as well.

.... the fact of the matter is that people in pakistan don't get fazed by a couple of dozen or a couple of hundred dead .... stuff like this is on the front page of jang every day :"Bus falls in ravine 44 dead" or "34 killed in bomb blast in kohat bazaar" ..... people glance at it, turn to page 2 to see who ran off with whose husband or wife and simply say, "please pass the butter" ...... and the unwashed, who can't afford the butter, can't afford the paper either so they don't know and don't care ......

More seriously: we are "allies" to the extent that we agree that terrorists are vermin. We differ though in our level of respect for the rights of ordinary Pakistanis. How is Musharraf and his lotas and the killers of May 12 any different from some arab renegade trying to take over a chunk of Pakistan or his lotas in lal masjid or the killers of October 18? The innocent Pakistanis killed on October 18 are just as dead as those killed on May 12.
