[where exactlhy did you see any pakistani concerned about winning hearts and minds of Indians?]
As usual, you read me all wrong. Kindly read my interact again. I do not do hearts and minds.
“….a real change in the direction of that country…”
The country in question is Pakistan.
As long as you guys keep following the same beaten old path, you are bound to come full circle.
Here is how it goes:
Civilian rule followed by corruption followed by distracting moves followed by “dushman across the border” followed by “strong army” followed by khakis-saying-we-are-the-saviors followed by tussle for power followed by the-guys-with-guns-winning!
And by the way…
I notice that you are putting in overtime bad-mouthing the Mushy. But Mushy was nothing – was never anything without the khaki institution/ISI behind him. I notice that you are VERY shy about saying anything against that institution.
Why don’t you bad-mouth the khakis – the REAL gaddars of the country?!
Perhaps the reason is – you LIKE what they do!
Again and again!

............... i love it ! ..... i will love it even more if six months or a year down the road i can say, "didn't i tell you !" ..... how frigging predictable!

The only way India would be convinced and support Pakistan is by doing these -
1. Arrest Salahuddin and his supporters who have committed so many terrorist acts on indian soil.
2. Dismantle all the official structures supporting terrorism including ISI cells and jehadi generals.
3. Deport Dawood immediately including his supporters like Javed Miandad.
4. All those Pakistani presses that are producing fake indian currencies should be dismantled.
5. All those drug mafia who are pushing drugs into india should be arrested.
6. All Pakistan civilians and Generals managing terror camps should be put to death.

I believe the only way people will be convinced that the new Pakistani administration represents a real change in the direction of that country is if, in the immediate future:
1) The Pakistani administration issues an unqualified apology to the government and people of India for conducting the outrage that came to be known as the IC-814 hijacking.
2) The Pakistani administration arrests and puts on trial all the culprits who organized that outrage – no matter how “high” those crooks be or might have been.
3) The Pakistani administration pays immediate compensation to the individuals killed in that outrage, the individuals whose lives were affected by that outrage and all the passengers of that plane.
Anything less and the Pakistani shenanigans have to be seen for what those are – a familiar game of musical chairs of same old players in a temporary new arrangement.

#328 teshah: Perhaps zardari has gone too far in reaching out to the scoundrels who were for dictatorship - mqm, and also the fence-sitter jui. But perhaps he knows what he is doing and will end up uniting the nation so it can face the serious immediate and longer-term challenges it faces. Time will tell and I think it is too early to say. I dont see how Zardari can back off on the CJ issue though even if he wanted to.

I don't think there will be any exit now in this scenario of 'Ifhaamo Tafheem'. Just see Asif Zardari going to Zero Nine, the veritable Trojan Horse of Mush. This 'IT' is all inclusive now. Only CJ Iftikhar would, I am afraid, 'Inshaallah' remain out as no one in the Pakiland is actually intrested in the 'Rule of Law'.

ADB doubtful about Pak growth sustainability
Thursday, April 03, 2008
By Mehtab Haider
ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has raised doubts about long-term sustainability of growth patterns for Pakistan, owing to domestic political uncertainty, higher global oil and commodity prices.
The ADB also lowered down Pakistan’s GDP growth forecast to 6.3 per cent against the actual target of 7 per cent, due to the lingering energy crisis, while the revised upward inflations touched 8 per cent against the envisaged annual target of 6.5 per cent for the current fiscal year.
“Issues of long-term sustainability therefore, arise, especially in the context of high global oil and commodity prices and domestic political uncertainties,” stated the Asian Development Outlook (ADO-2008) released by the ADB states on Wednesday.
The ADO 2008 also outlined twin deficits ó current account deficit and fiscal deficit, as major challenges for Pakistan in the future line of action. External debt rose by another $2.5 billion in the first half of FY2008 as a consequence of the rising current account and fiscal deficits, while foreign currency reserves were also depleting.

I don't know Mrs. Sharma. It seems that aata is too costly, petrol is too costly, we have to wear burkhas now, outside of clifton etc.. Maybe we were better off when we had comeone in charge. I am not sure people being in charge can manage all the craziness here.

gentle reminder to the pakistanis.
You all have seen PPP in action, and why should that party be different now, especially with zardari in power.
You all have seen Nawaz in action and why should his party be different.
You have seen mushy in action and why should he be different.
When all the three combine, it will simply be grab for money to swiss banks.
And here is a not so gentle advice, have no hopes for change, so that you all will not be disappointed. Rember the past and lokk for reasons why it should not repeat. And the only reason why it will not repeat is when and only when some lessons have been learned.
The lessons learned are simple, Nawaz and Bhutto could survive only because of the money sqireled away.

Finally the democrazy is back in pakistan. Nawaz has only one agenda, to get rid of mushy. He is a hard core jihadi, wanted to introduce sharia laws, mopre severe than that of zia, and he has declared that he will not listen to the yanks.
Then there is zardari, all that he wants is to keep his billions in swiss banks.
Then there is mushy, he wants to rule for ever.
Take it from me poor pakistanis, nothing will change for you. The power cuts will increase, the great citi bank economist during his eight year rule did not add a single megawatt of power. What do you expect for the politicians.
The military has quitt the jihadis to their own devices. The predators are going to rule waziristan.
Kiyani is happy, sitting in the army HQ and smoking his benson and hedges.
More will be killed in karachi by the mobile phone robbers, and that summarises the pak law and order situation and pak economy. In india no one cares to pick up a dropped phone, it is so cheap. Children are throwing mobile phones at stray dogs in india.
