NWFP Assembly condemns US
SAID ALAM KHAN and MOHAMMAD ASHFAQ
PESHAWAR - Through a unanimous resolution, the NWFP Assembly on Tuesday strongly condemned the statement of CIA Director Michael Hayden terming Pakistan’s tribal areas as direct threat to US, asked the federal government to take serious notice of the statement of US official.
The resolution also added that all the matters should be resolved through holding meaningful talks. The ANP’s Mian Iftikhar Hussain moved the jointly drafted resolution for which the speaker relaxed the rules with the consent of the House.
The PML-N Provincial Chief Pir Sabir Shah on a point of order diverted the attention of the House towards the statement issued by the CIA chief and termed it as direct threat to the country as well as interference and attack on sovereignty of their country.

Re: # 202 hamidm
My demands are simple. As a matter of fact it is the only way to save yourself from mohammeden killers:
1. Force army itself to court martial Musharaff for treason etc.
2. Establish independent election commission
3. Re-enact all deposed judges.
4. GOP must apologize to people of Swat, Waziristan, Baluchistan; pay Qisas and Diyat to all effected Pakistanis there.
5. GOP must apologize to nation for the tragedy of Lal Masjid; pay Qisas and Diyat.
6. Hold new elections with in next 3-6 months.
7. Annul all constitutional ammendments post October 1999.
If these basic steps are not done not just Mohammedens but rest of Pakistan will be asking for the head on the platter of these political leaders just like they are asking for the head of musharraf now.

Good news for you. The PM has ordered implementation of the Supreme court's (not Dogar Court) judgment to rebuild Jamia Hafsa and pay full compensation.
You should be happy. It appears the Jihadi breeders will be restored to provide plentiful masters of the kaneezes bred by the kaneez breeders of Flint, Michigan.

Peace, but not at cost of people’s lives: Hoti
By Mohammed Riaz
...(unanimously elected new NWFP Chief Minister) Mr Hoti said that people were sick of violence; they wanted peace and prosperity in their towns and villages. “We do not want suicide-jackets, guns and bullets. We need lasting peace to bring prosperity, impart education to our children and provide jobs to unemployed youths. We will not make any compromise at the cost of our people’s life and property."
Lawlessness, he said, had become the order of the day and collective efforts were needed to rid the province of this menace.
“We will seek people’s cooperation and trust through ordinary jirgas, but now this house is the appropriate forum to discuss issues concerning law and order.”
Mr Hoti said that PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto and many people in the province had sacrificed their lives for the cause of democracy and progress. “We must not forget their sacrifices. It is our duty to serve the people.”
..Mr Hoti is grandson of late ANP leader Khan Abdul Wali Khan. He is also grandson of Amir Haider Khan Hoti, a founding member of the party and close associate of late Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.

For a long time pakistanis have tried to collect the goegrpahical rent, do not forget jinnah, he said that the world revoves around pakistan because of its location. The romairs of teh world have claimed that the nato will have to support pakistan because of the military supplies coming through.
After the elections, the world has realised the depth of jihadi support in pakistan. They are finding alternate supply routes and once they are working, it will be B52s in NWFP

Russian bid to replace Pakistan as supply route: War in Afghanistan
By Anwar Iqbal
WASHINGTON, April 1: At the Nato summit, which begins in Bucharest on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to offer an alternative route for supplying US and Nato troops in Afghanistan.
The proposal, if accepted, will change the course of the war in Afghanistan and will also have far-reaching consequences for Pakistan as Nato’s 43,000 troops in Afghanistan rely heavily on supplies transported via Pakistan.
Diplomatic sources in Washington told Dawn that Russian and Nato diplomats have already held a series of “productive and successful” talks on a plan that would allow non-military material – such as clothing, food and petrol – to cross Russia by land.

#220 zeemax: They are giving peace a chance. But NWFP government has also drawn a line, per the statement in #218, which is also consistent with the top priority given to fighting terrorism by the new PM.

Finally after the elections, pakistan is on a path to become a true islamic republic. I recall the oth ceremony, pakistan will be governed by the book and sharia, and it is good news for all, the first stoning death has happened in pakistan. That is after 25 years, I recall that a few were publically beheaded during Zia time.

Couple stoned to death in Fata
By Our Correspondent
GHALANAI, April 1: A man and a woman were stoned to death by militants in Khwezai-Baezai area on Monday after a ‘qazi court’ found them guilty of adultery.
This is the first incident of Rajam (stoning to death) carried out in Fata. Earlier, couples found guilty of adultery by militants or tribesmen were executed by firing squads.
The woman, identified as Shano from Mohmand Agency, had allegedly eloped with Daulat Khan Malikdeenkhel of Bara on March 15.
Dr Asad, a spokesman for the militants, told Dawn that Shano was a married woman living in Peshawar’s Deen Bahar colony.
He said a complaint had been received from her family that she had been abducted by Daulat Khan. But later it was reported that she had eloped with him.
