ISLAMABAD: Display of nude art at the National Art Gallery (NAG) in the name of promotion of art and encouraging the artists has come as an embarrassment to the public who view it not in keeping with their moral and religious ethics.
Majority of the people visiting Khazana Souvenir Shop set up at the gallery have serious objections to the display of nude images of women on huge canvases and demand their removal from the gallery.
Public criticism is not something new thing to the gallery administration, as they had also taken a lot of flak from public and the media for displaying nude images of both men and women at the inaugural ceremony of the gallery.
It is also worth mentioning that nude art is not even acceptable by a large segment of society in many western societies and a heated debate is still going on there over its projection. In Pakistan, which is predominantly a conservative society, nude images, especially of women, come as a rude shock to the people.
Shaista Saeed, a visitor, said that every society was based on some a set of morals and ethics, which could not go so easily. “I think the sole purpose of this nude art is to please a particular segment of the society,” she observed.
The visitors are of the opinion that if the claim of the management of Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) was that NAG was a public property then it should display only those items that pleased the aesthetic sense of the viewers.
“For me, it’s nothing but an insult to women,” said Abdul Wahab, a visitor. He said the nation paid for this spacious gallery but it had nothing for them except for shame and embarrassment.
Not only the visitors, but also majority of the artists condemned the projection of female nude by the gallery administration.
Requesting anonymity, an artist told Daily Times that the NAG management should understand that the gallery was a public property and only such items should be put on display that pleased the public. “In a private gallery one can project the art one likes but at NAG one can’t risk projecting art of their choice,” he said.
Following the agenda of “enlightened moderation”, the PNCA is portraying women not more than an entity or a showpiece and more surprisingly three women own “Khazana”, which displays female nude.
There is a four-year contract of the souvenir shop between Nageen Rehman, Ghania Baddar and Attiya Zafar and the PNCA.
PNCA defends: Jamal Shah, PNCA Executive Director, said that nude art was a creation of senior artist Naseem Hafiz Qazi, which was put on display on a temporary basis. However, he denied its unacceptability by the public.
“It is just an allegation that people don’t like this art. In fact a huge number of people appreciate it,” he insisted.
He said the galleries and museums of the world project such art then why could not Pakistan project it. “The gallery should present all kinds of art and there is no harm in presenting nude art when a number of people like it,” he defended.

I couldn't agree more Mr. Truly. This is here where one must see under the layers of organisations to see who is working for whom and for what ends. There are wheels within wheels!
The Book that puts down animal behaviour is always being attacked on CHOWK, and despite my numerous requests, the editors have not intervened. One quick decision by them (who are THEM?) can change this rotten site.
The Law that truly reflects society essentially remains the same. Study in depth Yusuf's (peace on him) story. How the women of those elite circles enticed and lured men.
It takes a man to say NO! Let Muslims act like men who reject satanic whisperings, be these from men or the companions of devils.
Unless she is miraculously cured by someone, expect more sponsored non-sense from Najma-from-torn-aprt-Ronto. For now, the number of clicks she gets only increases her aversion to Islam.
Khuda Hafiz (oops, Allah Hafiz!)

Mr. Lover,
It is plain to see for any naturally-raised man how twisted the thinking of these Najma-goes-to-torn-apart-Ronto is. Islam-bashing is fashionable these days. Muslims have all the answers in the Book. The theory needs to be practised and shown to the world.
The more one reads the Qur'an, the better the understanding becomes. People forget that we all come from the same parents. Must we behave like animals?
Peace.

#788 and i suppose mullahs work for the betterment of the natives. and not for the betterment of their animal appetites. as for your bad mouthing NGOs - because of whom hundreds of millions of people are freed from the clutches of poverty and mullahs, witch doctors and other badmaash - the less said the batter.

There are lots of questions and objections reader raised. Some said Nanag was drinking thurrah others think he is insane. I do not care about such accusations. But some readers raised legitimate and literary questions. So here are the responses.
What is NARI? Nar is an Arabic word that means fire. Hindus call it agni. However, when Arabian invaders came to India, Hindus offered girls as gift. Most of these girls were vegetarians and had little or no libido. Arabs demanded them hot. So any hot girl was name Nari. The criteria was that when one holds his penis just at the orifice of a Nari it should feel like heat on back of hand in front of an oven. If the heat was less then the babe would not qualify as Nari.
I did not want to share temples secrets. But Guru was desperate to know. And now it is said they are not authentic. Let me share two more temple secrets with you.
Dasis are mostly poor girls given to temple. You know most girls are aborted during pregnancy in India after they find it through ultrasound. Anyway, these are practically slave girls in temples. If you want to know what goes through their commissioning then let me know. If you condemn horrible treatment with them then I rest my case.
The other secret is not secret to Hindu naris. Usually some Naris would come to temple complaining that their husbands were mistreating them. The best solution used to be to advise them according to Ayurveda that they mix their menstrual blood in food and make their husband/boyfriend drink it. It always worked but I did not know why? Later I found that it is full of estrogens which makes these guys pussyass and they stop fighting. And you think why they do not defend honor? Anyway if others like guru want to swirl on Nanga’s topa then doomsday is the limit but you have to wait for your turn.

Re: # 787
I agree with your comments. The real NGO agenda is to promote zina (fornication and adultry) in a society where it is morally and legally reprehensible. If they had any interest towards the betterment of natives, they would have strived to force government to strengthen and enforce the laws of rajm (prescribed punishmenmts for adultry and fornication), l'aan (divorce proceedings between spouses who accuse other of being unfaithful). Had these laws been enforced seriously no woman and no man would have lost their lives to vigilate justice. The bottom line is that all laws must be reflective of the values of the society. The NGOS are trying to enforce a sexual anarchy in this society so that there is no value and no law.

Writer of this article seems like a disturbed and a revengeful soul.
Insincere NGOs who make money in the name of women rights in Pakistan and try to create further disturbances and divisions among oppressed human societies..
Use of the name of Allah in the title is also highly cunning and mischievous..
It reminds us of the book written by Ahmadiyya group " murder in the name of Allah" ..
Can we call murders of George W Bush as.. " murders in the name of Jesus" ..
Killing of cheating partners is a universal phenomena,..
Some men kill their beloveds or wives , when they find them sleeping with some one else,..some tolerate it and let it go,..some go for divorce,.,..,...
Lot of men in the western world killed their cheating wives or girl friends , some smashed their heads with base ball bats , some cut both of them to pieces,..some poisoned them,..some fed them to dogs or pigs..??
Some females also destroyed their cheating male partners, through various vicious techniques,..
It is written no where in Quran to kill cheating wife,..Islam clearly talks about recovery from such addictions or bad habits and to save marriage and family at the end..
Killing in rage is a personal or cultural phenomena and it depends on the temperament or level of attachment of a lover with his / her beloved ,..
Why the West has invented such terms as "honour killings" , and why they spread it all over the world..??
To them women rights are that men should be able to seduce her without any interference from the family , give her few drinks or drugs, do what ever you want to do with her, and next morning dump her and go for a new hunt,..and let the previous one deal with her pregnancies, abortions, STDs or emotional scars,..etc..

Massaddi Mian:
"... In addition to my previous answer, I'd like to also deflate this persons numbers ..."
Do whatever, but please do not deflate your brain further. You have already shrunk it that it can only have air, no gray matter left, synapses don't make connections any longer.

masadi dont make those silly corrections. we understand you.
You did not reply to my questions.
Quickly: First job in US at MH NJ. A MIT fellow was assigned as a mentor. Second day took me out for lunch. The guy was Jewish and had attended or worked little with that famous linguist whom you all know.
At the meal he started talking about politics and told me that there 52 families in the world and how they control some large % of our resources. Being young and poor it was hard for me not to believe. But it started bothering me. Khana Hajam Nahi Ho Paya.
I tried my best to bring discussion more to work related stuff. But the guy was more Red than me. Everything started appearing as huge conspiracy by the 52 elite families. ...including my work. .. If I do better research how they are going to use it to conquer more world.
It really started affecting me. To regain my sanity I had to play soccer vigorously. Wondered how those illiterate poor mexican coplayers were so happy and I was so miserable. Realized it was all my thinking.
On the third luncheon weekly meeting I had to tell the guy Yes! those are 52 elite cards and rest of us are worthless jokers in the pack, but I have decided to enjoy my jokerhood...dont want to lose my laugh and smile on my lip.
