Well Manassas happens to be a somewhat suburban location as such there is not that many cabs as compared to an urban location or city.

Arjun...
Pakis are not far behind Indians or Japs... They are doing far better than Pakistanis in Pakistan (50% Grads with US$50000 PA average)...Why do they complain?
BTW India is not doing well in Olympics. Should we lodge complaint against Olympic Commitee for bias?
Pakis...
Before 1983, many Aus/Eng cricketers refused to play in India. Poor quality team, poor quality service...
In 1983, India managed to win world cup. This changed the cricket environment in India and Srilanka. Now, see the result....

Management is key to success. Indian weakness is management , they can work for bill gate but he can be staring industry. It will be great if indopak become industry engg they can do but production better in Pak as management is nature of people. Like even geman manager was failure at electric company as he did not had skill to manage in "complex situation". You need special skills of management.
Ans: How do you know Pakis are better managers?
As per my undersstanding Marwaris are known as good managers...

Ana writes "If you have to ask why the Prophet and his followers "adopted" a Jewish custom, or tradition, then you might also ask why Musa and Daoud and Issa are of the book. They're all Jewish too. "
Christinas don't have to keep "the law" because Paul declared emergency, going against the Jesus constitution in which he says explicltly that no one dot of the law can be done away with, and established himself as trend setter for life.
Moses lived long before "Judah" whose tribe led to "Jews", David and Solomon merely belong to the same lineage- which might just be the propaganda of the later rabbis and corrupters of the book to convert a quite universalistic god into a tribal chief worried only about the Jews, who are allowed to cheat, steal and lie to gentiles who are considered inferior to them... good day to you BTW the "custom" you talk about is just a "custom" with no religious significance in Islam- find me any mention of it in the Quran....

That is so true, while it is reiterated as if it is specified in the revelations.

“is arjun a cabbie? .”
Per his own posts written under his multiple nics, yes! He lives in an apt., he shares with some more cabbies and they are his drinking buddies.
“i thought he was a code coolie with microsoft certifications coming out his gazoo ? .... i am confused”
I understand your confusion. He claims to be a code coolie. Even the lowest paid code coolie (H1b) in the US makes abt $25 and hour. I know that is not really high income but it is still better than a cabbie or a 7-11 store clerk income. A single person making as low as $25 per hour can still afford to get a better apt. in a better building. Why would cabbie No.5 live in a building full of cabbies and other low income and perhaps less educated people? He is lying. The reason he lives there is because he can’t afford anything else in his cabbie income.
This is one hell of a cabbie. He happens to have a top level security clearance (NSA) with solid references from his fellow cabbies and store clerks living in a project.
Meet our own top level security cleared cabbie who uses secured NSA approved computers to post on Chowk and we all know what he posts!
Arjun_5 (currently! no guarantee what his nic would be in future.)
The question that you should really ponder is: why manassas park cabbie in his 40s is still single? gay?

Asadi,
Some phenomenal posts! There is lots of confusion about the race relations in the Indian-Pakistani community in the US. I think your posts should help some people to look at the issue with some clarity.
Feroz Qutubshahi hails from a minority community, which no doubt is persecuted both mentally and physically in Pakistan. However, he is completely clueless about the minorities and what they go thorough in this country. His posts under Kulharee on various threads would bear out his frustration over how his community is treated in Pakistan but he too refuses to accept the reality of ugly history of race relations in the US.
He wrote this article from an angle which is decisively white in approach. He is full of admiration of how Jackie was given an opportunity in a white baseball team and how athletes like him are making the playing field equal to many other Black.
Jackie played for Brooklyn Dodger. Brooklyn at that time was turning in to a community dominated by the Blacks and it was important for the Brooklyn dodgers to make some moves to attract the community to the team. The decision was purely commercial in a city which was already headed for a major reshuffle in its ethnic mix.
There were plenty of better or equally gifted Black players in the US in other areas but they were never given a chance. Jackie brought new fans in the stadium. What people forget that while the black community was warming up to the idea of a black player in a major Baseball team, the white fans began to desert the team and in under ten years after Jackie had joined the club, Brooklyn Dodgers ended up leaving Brooklyn for better postures in LA. The reason for the departure was simple. The Black community did not have the financial muscle to keep the team in town after the white fans had disappeared from the stadium. At that time most of revenues came from the ticket sales and not from the TV rights. "For more than four decades, Jackie Robinson's plaque at the Hall of Fame has made no mention that he broke the major league color barrier."(SI)
The separate bathrooms and the Jim Crow laws were still in existence almost twenty years after Jackie first played in the major league. The integration of the Black and white baseball minor leagues came way after that.
Feroz and his community’s minority status is painful and I understand his frustration but how he completely fails to see the utter disregard of the minority rights that still go on in the US is beyond me. His failure to see how the Jewish and the Black communities in the US make a common front against the prejudice and bigotry, despite several other differences in both communities, is appalling.
If that was not enough, we see people from India, after witnessing the horrible treatment to Dalits and untouchables in that country, unabashedly support the racist views. It is quiet clear from a few posts from the Indians on this board that they are racists. These Uncle Toms still carry their biases against the low caste and perhaps consider the Blacks in the US similar to the untouchables and Dalits back in India!

HP sain,
(If that was not enough, we see people from India, after witnessing the horrible treatment to Dalits and untouchables in that country, unabashedly support the racist views.)
It is understandable as to why Hindoos are racists, it can be explained as influence of caste system and all that shyte. But why are Paki people, who are free of Hindoo caste prejudices, racists?
Regards

Dada,
Here is what I wrote.
"There is lots of confusion about the race relations in the Indian-Pakistani community in the US."
Posts by the Indians on this thread clearly demonstrate their support of racism in the US. I did not see any Pakistani supporting the racism in the US on this thread.
Thanks.

HP:
You read selectively then. At least Masadi admits that there are Pakistanis who are racists. He blames it on the influence of the white man. . . Naqshbandi is one of us is he not, and he participated in a racist joke on this very thread. Naqshbandi has said racist things on other occasions which he will most likely deny vehemently. Racists do not think they are being racist, or if they aren't racist they are just plain ignorant. . .

Ans: Dalits are not different race (anthropologically) like Whites and Africans are in USA.
Dalit matter is a social issue than racial issue....
About untouchability, that is not exclusive for dalits. If you have touched a crockery, while it was used for cooking, you are equally untouchable for puja rituals as dalit. If you are returning from funeral, you are untouchable ( unless and until you take bath and perform "sammarjana"). The list is very big...
Basic objection is about complaining mentality. USA, as society provides far better opportunity to the diverse set of population than any other countries. Large number of Indians are living in USA quite comfortably. You are from a country, which enacted law like Hudood law or Blashphemy law...and you expect fair treatment from others!!! Why the racial problem is not an issue with Chinks, Japs or Indians?
If USA is bad stay away from USA. or bring these issues in front of the public representatives...

Ana-ji,
Pakis in USA are not racists at all. Rather they are victims of racism- more specifically black racism. The black people in USA are fat, lazy people who live off welfare, which is paid for by taxes paid by hard working Paki Ams. And rather than being grateful to these Pakis are always subjecting them to racist attacks and mugging them as well.
Btw I am not making this up- (have never been to USA) -I have been informed of this by a very respected Paki Momina chowkie.
