The illegally self-coronated 'president' Musharraf says -- it will be 'political suicide' for him to accept the legal constitutional package taking away from his Nov 3 undeserving infantile hands two toys -- 58(2b) and appointment of services chiefs.

Well what the new democratic dispensation of Pakistan will recommend that the useless redundant totally unnecessary president Musharraf should take the offer -- go ahead -- and commit 'suicide'.

Otherwise the parliament will have to 'euthanize' the Nov 3 k9 as humanely as possible.

Perhaps it would bear noting that the present NWFP government is a very strong government led by the "Secular" ANP of Bacha Khan's grandson Asfandyar Wali Khan(the party Indians love so much)...

Parole law being changed to release Rehmat Shah Afridi

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

By Hamid Mir

ISLAMABAD: PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif has intervened in the case of detained chief editor of 'The Frontier Post', Rehmat Shah Afridi, raising hopes that he may be released soon.

Sources have confided to The News that the Punjab government is making some changes in the parole law following which Afridi will be released but these changes will not be person specific and will provide relief to many other prisoners as well.

Nawaz Sharif has also asked his party to ignore any bureaucratic hurdles in the release of Afridi on parole as soon as possible because his health is deteriorating fast. PPP Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari had requested PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif a few weeks ago to release Rehmat Shah Afridi on parole who has already spent nine years in prison.

Shahbaz Sharif immediately asked the provincial government to facilitate Afridi but the provincial law department came up with some legal excuses despite the fact that the Amnesty International had declared Afridi as a prisoner of conscience in 2003.........

RELEASE REHMAT SHAH AFRIDI.

So much for -- "ANF was surprised"

ANF officials questioned about Rehmat Shah case

Tuesday, May 20, 2008
By Rauf Klasra

ISLAMABAD: Top officials of the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) were caught off guard in the Senate body on Narcotics on Monday, when they were asked probing questions by the senators about owner of 'The Frontier Post' Rehmat Shah Afridi and who forced him to become an approver against Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari in his long nine years in jail.

The senate body has now summoned record of the narcotics case against Rehmat Shah Afridi to probe how he was victimised and put under pressure to become approver. The ANF officials have been asked to produce the record and brief the committee members in the next meeting.

The sensitive issue was agitated by PPP senator Enver Baig who wanted an explanation from the ANF officials present in the meeting with regard to a story in The News on Monday filed by Hamid Mir which said the establishment had been trying to implicate Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari after getting false statements from the detainee.

Earlier the Senate body met under the chairmanship of Senator Kalsoom Parveen. Secretary Narcotics KB Rind, DG ANF and other top officials were also present in the meeting.†

Earlier, Senator Enver Baig drew the attention of ANF officials towards a news item and wondered how anyone could force a detainee to become an approver as part of establishment plan to punish the top leaders like Benazir Bhutto and Asif Zardari.

He said it also established the bitter fact how martyred Benazir and Asif Zardari were hounded on the basis of wrong and cooked up cases. Baig wanted to know from the ANF officials that who were those people who had visited Rehmat Shah in his cell to force him to give a written statement against Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari so as to punish them for their defiance against the forces of establishment.

He said Rehmat Shah was suffering in the jail for the last 10 years and we wanted to know that who had "sponsored" the game to put him under pressure to get statements.

Senator Abdul Razak also spoke on the issue of Rehmat Shah and said actually he was punished after his newspaper published some articles against the top guns of the ANF who were said to be part of some scam.

ANF officials were not prepared for this debate and only expressed their ignorance about the whole issue. The DG ANF said he had no idea about the details of the case at this stage as he too had read the news item in the morning newspaper.

He said the case was quite old as some drugs were recovered from his car in which he was travelling and he was later punished by a court.

The DG said he would be ready to produce the record and relevant information before the committee in its next meeting."

Re: # 3

"Shahbaz Sharif told "The News" that "if Saifur Rehman was also involved in making fake drug cases against Afridi and Asif Ali Zardari then he was doing these games on his own and I have always been a big critic of his wrongdoings".

"It was also learnt that the newspaper of Rehmat Shah Afridi published some hard-hitting stories against the ANF just few days before his arrest.

Afridi claimed in his newspaper that the ANF officers were involved in drug smuggling. After a few days, the ANF arrested him from Lahore and claimed to have recovered 20 kilogram of Charas from him.

The ANF arranged a press conference on April 2, 1999 against Afridi. The then Interior Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain informed MD PTV Pervez Rashid to telecast that press conference.

According to Pervez Rashid, when he consulted the then prime minister Nawaz Sharif he was asked not to telecast the press conference because the prime minister was of the view that it was not proper to humiliate someone without investigation."(News)

Now what did I say:

".....the FP editor Mr. Afridi who has been rotting in the Lahore jail for horrifying nine YEARS -- on a trumped up charge first leveled by that scum of the earth – bayghairat blackmailer -- Saifurrahman -- at the behest of the then -- ghair Sharif brothers of the pre 1999 dispensation – then obligingly put in jail -- on behalf of that sardar of the quislings (the shoeshine boy) Shoejaat Husain -- by the equally bayghairat blackmailer Musharraf sahib."

So finally the eminent journalist Rehmat Shah Afridi will be released next week -- thank you eminent Shahbaz Sharif -- thank you eminent Nawaz Sharif and thank you no less eminent Asif Zardari for raising the issue -- though "buRee der kee mehrbaN atay atay" -- still der ayad drust ayad.

As far as Garda is concerned -- every 'eminet' politician of Pakistan is 'gardalood' -- including that Fazool Maulana Fazloo and that Mukarrar Maulana Musharraf -- they have all been Bhang-ees one time or other -- let's hang all of them in the Land of Pure charas.

What do you think Hamidm and tahmed?

#3,

Wow the ignorance of some of these posters knows no bounds, jumping up and down claiming "An eminent journalist of Pakistan was charged – of all the things -- with selling Charas on the Mall Road!"

That 'eminent' journalist's Mercedes was stopped outside Faisalabad with a trunk full of Charas and himself in the car to the ANF's surprise. That 'eminent' journalist was an active partner of Haji Ayub Afridi (heard the name? google.com) who was ultimately extradited to USA and died in jail. That 'eminent' journalist was awarded the mandatory death penalty but commuted to life.

Get it now Mr. 'eminent' journalist?

To hell with Musharraf fake ‘Enlightened Moderation’ -- the question that I want to ask Shahbaz Sharif and his brother Nawaz Sharif -- and their nemesis Musharraf -- why on earth -- under this new 'democratic dispensation' -- Rehmat Shah Afridi -- the Editor-in Chief of a progressive newspaper Frontier Post -- published from a godforsaken place like Peshawar -- is languishing in Lahore Jail -- now owned and operated by the Sharif Brothers -- when every tom dick and harry is out of the Pakistani hell holes.

An eminent journalist of Pakistan was charged – of all the things -- with selling Charas on the Mall Road! For which he has been rotting in jail for 9 hellish years.

I mean the crummy Pakistani establishment -- is so shitty -- they can't even come up with a respectably false allegation against an old gentleman of the pen. Now even the reborn rule-of-law, freedom of press guys like Sharifs are searching for a 'legal' solution for a patently illegal incarceration of an innocent victim of their own political vendetta -- and then the Sharifs have the audacity to accuse Zardari for not doing the same for the restoration of the SC judges. What hypocrisy!

Now I pick the gauntlet on behalf of the FP editor Mr. Afridi who has been rotting in the Lahore jail for horrifying nine YEARS -- on a trumped up charge first leveled by that scum of the earth – bayghairat blackmailer -- Saifurrahman -- at the behest of the then -- ghair Sharif brothers of the pre 1999 dispensation – then obligingly put in jail -- on behalf of that sardar of the quislings Shoejaat Husain -- by the equally bayghairat blackmailer Musharraf sahib.

Every day from now -- there will be a post on Chowk against the Sharif Brothers -- and against that useless, irrelevant good-for-nothing dictator -- to RELEASE Rehmat Shah Afridi stat -- till the Sharif brothers plus Musharraf get ‘together’ – and FREE Mr. Afridi from Lahore Jail -- legally or illegally.

The only justice for the religionist/racist basis of Pakistan is to disintegrate it into religiious and racist territories and then bomb it into a parking lot for India..

While president Musharraf should resign for a multitude of factors, he should admit his stark failure for not ushering Pakistan into a civil society and at the end of the day capitulating to those who would put Pakistan on the road to an Islamic system that is neither Islamic in true sense nor humanistic.

Indeed. Someone messed up and didn't read out Jinnah's 11th August speech to these extremists.
