Janab HP sahib
MQM does not represent Mohajirs, while it may comprise of Mohajirs.
As a matter of fact a majority of Mohajirs is not even interested in the filthy politics of our country.
And, like you stated, Mohajirs are not at all "bad" as a matter of fact if you know and I am sure you know quite a few you would know that they can be appropriately considered as nice people as far as their majority is concerned.

But getting rid of Zardari will be a lot harder I think..
tahmed, getting rid of Zardari is easier than getting rid of mutarraf.
You see, PPP is the Bhuttos. The Bhutto family. It can't be anyone else. Bilawal can't become a Bhutto by changing names, nor Zardari can do anything about it. It's only a matter of the current family head Mumtaz Bhutto deciding to come mainstream and field either Sassui Bhutto (likely) or Fatima Bhutto in open challenge, and you'll see the tide changing in PPP to kick out Zardari. Zardari isn't really accepted in PPP, but no other choice for the moment.
PPP is nothing without a Bhutto in command.

It is quite customary for people to use the MQM to say things against Urdu speaking I don't mean to particularly point a finger at you, specially now that you have made it clear, but I see a great number of people who use this method, while I believe being upfront and prefer the ones who are too.
Alhamdulillah I am a lot better than to be claiming victimization but have seen it happen and it goes on, my concern is not for myself but for others who have been caught in this stamepede of regionalism and ethnicity.
And where did this "Salim_Chauhan Pai" dropped in the middle from no where, it has been a few months that I have not seen his writing and thought he has gone underground.
In as much as being from any particular region is concerned I don't dwell on regionalism, but it hurts to see people pointing fingers at each other based on regionalism & ethnicity. My ancestors introduced themselves in the year 600's and lived all over undivided India from Lahore, Multan to Dadu and extending all the way to Bhopal, Meerut, Bareli, Lucknow, Muradabad and Hyderabad Deccan while now I find them as far as teaching at Kerala University.
But I am a Pakistani at heart regardless of where I placed myself for last several decades and sincerely feel sorry at the current day conditions of a place we came to know as homeland for Muslims of Sub-continent.
However I strongly believe in bearing arms for self-defense and resisting violence if and when used by another to crush me or my clan.
I am sick of those who use the name of MQM to direct their anger at Mohajirs and I stand by this while if you are not one of those I am glad to learn that, but if you ever feel like saying something to anyone I urge you to do it upfront and not under any cover.
Peace

#395 Posted by MatloobZaman,
... say what is in your heart and mind about the Urdu Speaking Mohajirs instead of using the cliche of MQM
Now don't start with your victim ruse. No one, and I mean NO ONE in Pakistan has anything against the Urdu Speaking. Your attempt to make ALL Urdu speaking synonymous with MQM is contemptible. It is true though that the rest of Pakistan considers the political party MQM as treasonous. Period.
Since you brought it up, Urdu Speaking are my family. I too am Lucknavi by injection (Thanks Salim_Chauhan Pai).

Okhla...
Yes, all these are problems, but it will go away, if the cause of the problem is redressed. But Islam has very notorious history in context of causing damage to India. Like Sikh problem was solved within decades, Naxalite problem will vanish within 5-10 years.

Believe I have said this before in addressing Zeemax that I am neither a member nor a supporter of MQM, however he uses every opportunity to play his game of demonizing Mohajirs i.e. Urdu speaking of Pakistan with his frequent use of MQM to camouflage his intended target.

Thanks for the courtesy of posting excerpts from the book in your iLog, however, the same book also quotes in detail the reasons for the current MQM leader for turning to what you narrate.
Like some wise people said, violence begets violence, while I don't care for violence however I don't turn my face away from learning the facts surrounding as to why someone is acting as he/she is.
I would rather have you open up and say what is in your heart and mind about the Urdu Speaking Mohajirs instead of using the cliche of MQM, while if you do not intend as understood from your writing I am sure you are brave enough to say it out loud too.

Tahmed,
Hathaili pur sarsoon nahin jamaoo!
Every thing takes time and needs patience. This is a long process and every simple thing counts. I think you still don't have a grip on what kind of iron grip army has on Pakistan. It will not be easy to break that and there will be many setbacks.
Mohajir are not bad people they just have a bad leadership like most of the Pakistan had with Mushy!
Zee,If they were not considered the part of the process they should have voted against...but anyway who cares let's see what happens next.

"Assembly abstention was only because PPP never consulted them about it. I believe this to be true" Zee this does not make sense...were they going to vote against instead of abstaining, if the PPP had consulted them?
Saeen, read the following so it'll make sense:
"We did not take part in the voting because PPP did not consider us a part in this process from the beginning."
These may not be his exact words, but this is what he meant. Kind of a lame excuse of-course, and I think bubba is right.

zeemax #173 "But, it's only for the time being. In time, Zardari will be out as well. Nawaz Sharif will ensure that. He isn't going to remain the junior partner to a skunk after all this. "
Agreed. With Musharraf out, next in line is Zardari. Then Pakistan will be well on its way to true democracy and the rule of law. But getting rid of Zardari will be a lot harder I think - unless the PPP manages to separate him from what he received in as "inheritance" in the will written by the faux-"democrat" Benazir.

HP #383 you fell for mqm propaganda when you equated them with the "urdu speaking" community. Of course there are many patriots and men of integrity among the community (justice wajihuddin, to use an example i used before). So, dont insult them by ignoring them and repeating the mqm line.
So - dont be fooled into thinking that mqm running out on Musharraf means it has reformed itself. It is only showing the treacherous nature of the individuals leading it who have now dumped the same man on whose behalf they killed innocent people when he was riding high back in May 12.
To reform itself, mqm would join the movement for the restoration of the CJ, rather than joining hands with the corrupt NRO Zardari to keep the CJ out. To reform itself, mqm would have to hand over the murderers of May 12 in its midst (and only a fool would think that took place without top mqm leadership behind it).

Zee, kamal hai bhai you are asking
{Now why would mutarraf's greatest defenders who held the 12 May khoon ki holi to win the great mutarraf's favour abstain?}
Because, Alt-F is knows goonda-gurdy only and not politics. MQM has been cornered by the two great politicians of our times.

In SA, we do not need MQM at all. It just goes to show that Alt-F is becoming irrelevant. Hopefully, PPP would soon realize this and get rid of this coalition partner in Sindh.

"Assembly abstention was only because PPP never consulted them about it. I believe this to be true"
Zee this does not make sense...We are missing something here.
Were they going to vote against instead of abstaining, if the PPP had consulted them?
El presidente resignation is not a certainty. There are still a few games left to play. The PPP will push it farther to maximize political mileage and the PMLn sees no problem with that either. So it might hit the SC before you know it.
The media and others are desperately trying to bring in the army I believe on apparently the PPP-PMLn suggestion. The more you prolong it the more you hurt the army. Politicians are not simple minded. I would be disappointed if it ends early....Abuse the army as much as you can in this whole process so they don't make any attempt again and become useless for the international forces.
Every day is a new day in Pakistan!

{He has explained they will fight against impeachment tooth and nail in the NA, while the Sindh Assembly abstention was only because PPP never consulted them about it.}
I think everyone by now knows that El Prezidente MuSHarraf is going to resign thus there will be NO vote in National Assembly, meaning this is for general public consumption and if I may add their insurance policy against any unpleasant surprise.

I expected you to know better re MQM, but obviously you don't. TYhey're all liars and traitors, and will never be in the mainstream.
